  1. Update: Remeoved the cover, peeled out the rubber saeling and washed everything clean before reassembling. Wasn't difficult at all except one screw was a little bit tricky to reach. Unfortunately I can't reach the protective plate below the engine for cleaning so I'll leave some cardboard under the car after parking and see if the dripping is going to stop. Some impressions:
  2. Car is leaking oil drips on the floor. This cover is located on the right side of the camshaft housing and looks very messy. If I put my finger under it it's oil-wet so it's likely the culprit. There's also a sensor located below the cover that seems to have collected a lot of oil drips. First I thought theres a screw missing but I compared with another octavia mk3 and there's also just 4 screws keeping the cover in place (same according to a manual I found) and also some oily residue visible but way less compared to the leaky one. Is this a known issue? Thinking about replacing the cover + seal myself (no 8 + 9). Messy one: Other car looks like:
  3. I think Laura is a retarded girl compared to Siri or Google lol
  4. I'd expext all languages you'll find in previous releases wich has been installed by many users from many countries, probably the entire market region Skoda is selling Cars (Western and Eastern Europe).
  5. Sounds like an rip off attempt, just run the USB Update and the reboots will disappear.
  6. I guess not, afaik dealers still stick with 1941
  7. Thanks for sharing, already downloading!
  8. That's probably OK because the first modules are already up to date so the updater will skip them.
  9. Nowadays I won't buy a car without extended warranty - it took skoda more than 2 years to provide an "OK-ish" firmware and all that electronics components aren't really designed in a rock solid way. So either choose an "all inclusive" leasing plan or cover yourself with an extended warranty if you prefer buying.
  10. If your vehicel is qualified you still might have to be more patient since the rollout is done "step-by-step" so the update is not available for all at the same time. If you can't wait due to pressing issues the dealer should be able to help you via manual update our you perform the update by yourself @own risk...
  11. Many forums I visited around y2k are mostly abandoned or offline today thanks to social media. I also think the average attention span of many people can't manage anything longer than a twitter post or tiktok video. I run a german fan forum for the sisters of mercy myself, we also lost many active members over the years but luckily it's fairly active thanks to the people who stick with us. @intital question: I don't track my car since it's a company car and with 115ps I would probably end up as the joke of the day^^ I do a little sim racing though. Your vRS looks in great shape though, must be fun to do some laps.
  12. Yeah the delay also bothered me when I had to drive a loaner with DSG. Initial reaction from DSG is like playing a game with 300ms input lag.
  13. Hey guys, anybody tried to fix a faulty injector by it's own? One of our company cars have a faulty injector @cylinder 3. I checked the internal resistance with a multimeter and got 4kOhm. All healthy ones are around 190kOhm. I have another broken injector to play with and that one also show ~5kohm on the multimeter. I noticed that you can easily remove te top part that includes the electical components of the injector wich looks like this: https://german.alibaba.com/product-detail/solenoid-valve-for-siem-ens-continental-vdo-common-rail-piezo-injector-1600121716566.html Now I'm asking myself if the injector can be fixed by swapping this part. This should be possible without removing the entire injector since you can acces it pretty well. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any supplier from EU and I'm also not shure if this will work at the end of the days since it might be possible that this part became faulty due to another issues inside the injector assy,
  14. A member of the german skoda forum confirmed that he got 1941 via OTA (1900 before).
  15. It's posted here - just read the thread a little reverse
  16. Of course you can, just read the posts on this page in reverse order.
  17. Yeah me too, Ali, Banggood, Temu - of course many if not most products are just cheap crap but others are very well. As an example around 2016 I bought my first Xiaomi smartphone from Banggood for 80€ (Xiaomi Redmi 4) wich was the best smartphone I ever had regarding price-performance (snapdragon CPU, magnesium case..). At that time the brand Xiaomi was flying under the radar in the western world. I also bought some RC toy stuff from a brand called WL-Toys - pretty good quality and affordable. If you are in to DIY electronic projects these platforms are also one of the first choices. Making good purchases requires some knowledge, experience and research. I usually get my hints from community driven "deal websites" like mydealz.de, I think the UK clone would be https://www.hotukdeals.com/
  18. We'll I've read some reports about issues with 1941 at the german skoda forum but these people mainly have probs with the HUD / navigation arrows (icons are showing up very laggy or just freeze). In this case I might try and disconnect the battery for an hour and give it another shot. For me SW1941 still works fine except that I'm getting ACC more frequently since a few weeks but I expect this to be fixed during the next scheduled service in a few weeks (camera update).
  19. Scroll this page up, there's a link refering to a posting containing a download link.
  20. Thank looks fine indeed, can you share a link of the product you're using.
  21. Doesn't it look ugly AF or is it hidden once the door is closed?
  22. Sorry I can't edit my first post - I found some better pictures from a 2nd hand parts dealer. The unit shows the lift in a specific position and it seems you can reach the clamps/holder through little holes (highlighted yellow), probably to unlock them from the window. I still don't know how to unlock that holder from the window part but I'd guess it's just some sort of locking nose I have to loosen with a flatbed screwdriver. From there I think I have to move up the window by hand and temporary fix it with some tape
  23. Hi there, I'm looking for instructions about how to remove that unit for the front doors since I wan't to add some damping material for sound improvement. Last time I was messing around with a window lift it was with the first Octavia generation and it was kind of a mess^^ From the picture this actually looks designed more service friendly but not 100% self explaining since I don't understand how I unlock the clamps from the window before pulling out that big assy. With the old generation I had to secure the window in the upper position with some tape and then I had to loosen the clamps before removing the rails. As for the rest I think it's pretty idiot proof. Just turn all the knobs 90 degrees and the assy should become loosen. Here you can see some images: https://www.ebay.de/itm/144867445792?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=707-53477-19255-0&campid=5338765354 Thanks ahead for any input!
