  1. Keep us posted on how easy that turns out to be.
  2. Slarti, That would be amazing if that solved it, I'm waiting eagerly to find out what happens with the new battery.
  3. I had this same issue and it was the ballast, you can pick one up cheaply on eBay as it's a common part with many other cars. fitting is a bit involved as the headlight needs to come out so the front bumper needs removing.
  4. The instructions that came with mine say make sure your fluid is clean or the replacement can fail quickly. Not sure how to test this but after 3 times in 5 years it may be worth a flush and refill? This is the best video I have found on how to do the job, it's in German but Youtube subtitles can Auto translate.
  5. Per, that does look easier with the whole section removed from the car. Can I ask did you get to it from above or remove the tray and get to it from below? Also having just done the job what do you think would be easier above or below?
  6. No wonder it's not very good if they have Bear's doing it, it's hard to hold a shovel with paws.
  7. Sorry to hear of your issues. If you have Xenons the headlights are probably the most valuable parts, hard to buy one for less than £300 secondhand. I would imagine it's almost certainly worth more fixed and sold with the other issues listed than for scrap. but I'm not an expert.
  8. That website worked for me on the computer - mine is a CFFB but I noticed the engine number starts with CFF (without the "B") so that may be how the confusion has come about? Thanks for the tips.
  9. Have you seen this page? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Volkswagen_Group_diesel_engines Quoted from that page below... 10. Very easy - follow videos on YouTube but on older cars the fixings can be dirty or rusted. try a small wire brush to clean them first.
  11. Does the Mapco site say it's only for cars up to May 09 it seems to say - "Construction year to: 2009/05" Actually re-reading it - so many are listed it's confusing
