  1. All done and working using a set of yeti buttons in existing wheel.
  2. Yes it will come out, I've had mine out. Remove the upper glovebox (2 screws and a good tug) and you will see 3 torx screws behind, remove them and carefully pry up with a screwdriver from below around the mounts you took the screws out from while using a gentle edged prybar around the edges from above, I did find a better description online but didn't bookmark it. Remove neg battery lead first before removing airbag plug, I took mine out to thread a gps antenna up under the dash in the middle beside it for an android headunit.
  3. Woohoo! Lin & 12v cable in, a quick play with vcds and all works fine. I no longer have a spare set of buttons and loom.
  4. I have just read that some wires are needing added for the MFSW to work, can anyone give me more details on what is needed where? This may be where I've gone wrong, I had assumed it would be plug and play with a bit of coding.
  5. No Idea if they are working as bought off fleabay, the rolling buttons seem ok which looks to be a normal point of failure, they owe me £45. I would still like to get them working if I can, just waiting on some advice via the ross-tech forum.
  6. On our 2013 estate I now have all doors showing on the maxidot display when they are open but nothing for the tailgate, the thing is I don't remember if it ever did show up, can someone tell me if theirs shows when tailgate is open please, and if it does do these have a similar microswitch issue in the tailgate lock? I have seen pattern locks online for about £15 but don't want to buy one if it's not the problem.
  7. The common answer seems to be the microswitch in the door lock but also check under the rubber bellows where the wiring goes into the door, mine had 2 broken wires and a few others getting to close to breaking, it seems a common fault, I soldered mine with a bit of heat shrink over and now have warning buzzer working again and door open warning shows on the maxidot again.
  8. I was expecting to do that and had the youtube vid at the ready but the lock was totally different, as it happens I looked up the lock pinout to check other ways and found another thread about wiring loom breaks, undid the flexible bellows on the door and found 2 wires with clean breaks and several others with the insulation cracked ready to do the same, a bit of soldering later and it all works, if anyone needs a later year lock I have a spare.
  9. Here are pics of the lock, any disassembly help appreciated. I assume they suffer from the same microswitch issues, symptoms are no headlight warning buzzer, no door open symbol shown, no interior light for drivers side. Car is a 2013 5J Fabia estate. Part number is 26c- 1S2 837 016B I read it as 152 first time.
  10. Went back out to it after a while, left all the door panels in and retried just the 2 screws for the barrel, out it popped! It waited for me to make an idiot of myself on an Internet forum first. So stripped the door panel back out and removed lock and it's nothing like the guides I've seen for microswitch replacement, the part number is 26c- 152 837 016b, a quick search came up with a 2017 Up, anyone know how these locks come apart? The car belongs to the Mrs. so I don't dare break it.
  11. I must be doing something stupid, please help! 😳 I attempted to change the drivers door microswitch today, got the door panels all stripped out in no time, next step remove lock barrel, just two screws to loosen and simply slide out, yeh right not a hope in hell it wasn't budging. The screws loosened were in the cirlces in the pic below, I could see the orange circled one worked a forked clamp that secures the front of the barrel and the hooks were free of the lock, I see from the online pics the yellow circled screw simply locates into a hole to secure the rear of the lock, this was fully back against it's stop, nowt moved, poped the cover off the barrel and had mole grips on it, tw*ted from behind with a screwdriver and hammer (I call this percussive maintenance), screamed profanities loudly while stamping my feet in a tantrum, nope nothing helped. Please help prevent me from looking any wierder in front of my neighbours, they worry about me as it is.... I'm sure this bit should be so simple! What have I missed?
  12. The buttons I have were described as below, may be going spare yet. "Skoda Octavia 2 Superb 1 Mfsw Yeti Multifunction Buttons Steering 5E0919719f" The loom with it has p/n 5ja 971 584.
  13. What wheel do you have? I have a set of switches and loom from a yeti with 4 spoke wheel and don't think my bcm will support it so may abort.
  14. Can anyone tell me where the second aerial is on a fabia?
