  1. Hi, I have came across this issue too yesterday. It was a scorching heat outside and I thought the AC needs to run the engine in addition. I drove the car for 3 weeks only on electric now and when yesterday started the car in EV switched automatically to hybrid and started engine immediately than the notification appeared all the time the engine started than disappeared than reappeared and so on. Since the car has only 3 yrs the 12V battery should not have issues so I have googled it and found that the car definitely needs to run the CE from time to time for a good condition (corrosion, water condensation etc) After a while, observed that even in parking position the CE idled. My petrol level was pretty low so went to a station and added some 10 liters. After that, the notification did not reappear. Today started in EV mode again and no message, no warning. Let's see for how long.
  2. Does anyone know a proper aiming procedure that can be done at home with those white knobs for matrix headlights? There are also left-right adjusting knobs that may affect high beam assist working behaviour. Mine does not dazzle oncoming vehicles and it is clearly visible the beam is heading down but as the headlights were replaced, it seems they haven't been aimed properly. As far as I know in EU, the headlights should have 1% downwards, but for matrix it seems pretty complicated to follow the classic measurement because of the matrix sensor. I know VAG has a dedicated aiming device but I would like to aim myself because most of the time they do not care about proper work done.
  3. Let me know if you experience same positive changes after ver. 4019 audio update, thanks!
  4. This update worked for me facing same issue as you before, moreover improved Canton audio sound and it sounds noticeable better. More than a month and 3000+ kms and audio did not go away since than.
  5. Got the same update as you, 4019 from 4015. So far no issue with the audio for a week. I don't know if only seems but I am almost 100% sure the Canton sounds better after the update. Have you also noticed some changes in audio quality?
  6. Thanks! Just made a booking to dealer . If there is an update will take some time to confirm if the issue persists as I have the issue from time to time, not very often.
  7. Thanks, will try that next time. I tried reboot while driving, with no avail, only ingnition off and wait for some 1 or 2 minutes tried and worked
  8. Mine has Canton too. It is possible the issue is linked yet to Android Auto or media related. There was no obvious sign that pointed out the issue. Anyway, I consider this as a minor bug that has to be fixed in any case by an update. Disconnecting the amplifier has to make a kind of reset but you may also try it as I described in my previous post.
  9. Same here. Sometimes happens to have no sound at all for neither media, parking sounds etc and at the same time get error message for parking assistant currently unavailable I presume due to no sound, but I wasn't attentive what happened before (phone disconnect, etc). It fixes automatically after stop car, get out of it and leave a few minutes. Resetting Infotainment by pressing off button for 15 secs doesn't work. Any permanent fix would be appreciated.
  10. Yes! Proskoda just confirmed. The brochure also confirms Octavia NX and PV compatible
  11. Check below the message quoted (I have added my Octavia's seat picture): Hello, the adapter is compatible with seats as per our pictures on the web site + picture in attachment Regards Anyway, it would be helpful to confirm compatibility after you receive and test since you have risked 😀.
  12. Do you have a reply from Kopacek?
  13. Yes, it seems fits looking at the pictures but still does not refer to Octavia in the description.
  14. Hi All, I noticed on my Octavia RS IV PHEV after a longer but soft run (3.3 l/100km and 2kwh/100km consumption) right after stopping the engine the fan would come on but stop immediately. (HV battery 3%) If I plug in the charger, the radiator fan starts immediately and runs a few minutes with the fan speed gradually slowing down to zero. Also to note that my home is located on a hill going like 800m on slow speed between 10-30 km/h Other times running motorway, after stop, no fan on even on constant 120km/h for an hour or so. All these on moderate ambiental temperature 15-25 C I am thinking about occasions when engine could not cool down enough due to different situations and needs the engine and turbo to further cool down. Also, the car in hybrid mode always turn off petrol engine when no throttle which would be normal but not if hot. So why is the car turning off the petrol engine if the engine is hot and would need to run at light speed to cool it down? Maybe the speed not enough to cool it anyway? If so, why isn't it running the fan after stop the car only with charger plugged in? Isn't it more important to cool the engine down?
  15. Hi guys! I thought I would share how I succeeded to transform easily the original smart holder adaptor 3V0061128 for Octavia RS sport seats so that smart holder can be used afterwards. It is a pity that Skoda still did not release an original accessory for RS owners yet. If you are in DIY mood, you can do it in 30 minutes, all you need is a saw to cut both ends shorter, a file and some sandpaper. I advise to draw the cut lines at below dimensions and shape looking at the seat hole shape first and 2-3 mm longer before cut and then file it slowly to shape and dimension testing it periodically until fits perfectly. Finally use sandpaper to make it nice and smooth. I used successfully before this solution different magnetic holders too, attached with double side adhesive tapes, but this solution has two faces for me because the other side of the adaptor can be used to attach a neck pillow with velcro solution. If someone had ever been looking for a neck pillow for sport seats, knows that is again a headache.
  16. Hi As I saw nobody had this issue, I did not came back with the fix. There are two cooling fin modules at the back of the headlight, and the one at the side (exactly in line with the discoloured one) have to be removed where you will find the led chip. Mine had the paint on the led chip peeled off. You need to replace that module and the cost is not too high, under 100 euros compared to a new headlight price. Unfortunately I paid a lot more because went to dealer and paid for them to fix it. The operation in fact is not that simple as I thought because the bumper needs to be removed in order to remove the headlight unit all this because you don't have access to the module unless you remove the headlight. If I am not wrong the part number is 1420000690.
  17. Agree with you of short journeys will not warm up enough that is why I go full electric in town, and not switch to hybrid only on longer journeys. So all these full electric runs when the IC is not firing up at all are counted and added to the oil service countdown mileage. I thought that as long as IC is off the engine is like when you don't run it so may not add to countdown.
  18. Car is out of warranty, but I think if you make the servicing earlier than should, can't lose warranty because of that. I drive most of the time electric but overall 2-3 times more in distance with CI. In my opinion PHEVs are perfect for this, at least for me.
  19. You are right, maybe that is the logic. I run more distances on IC than on electric but with less frequency.
  20. I know, but the best is to make the change at 8-10,000 km if you really care about your engine. First of all, the oil can keep the properties for 5-7000 km, after that begins to degrade. Second, you need to take into account the dust the engine inspires. Too much dust can rub the cylinder wall harder, etc.
  21. Of course I don't follow up flexible and do oil change at 10000 km usually. The thing I don't understand why the electric mileage is added to the petrol engine run. Would the engine really suffer from rust/corrosion of the rare engine fire up? Otherwise I am not concerning because I also use the petrol engine at least once/week.
  22. Hi guys, Wondering why car's oil service counter is counting the full electric mileage too in my Octavia IV RS PHEV. I have checked and the counter is calculating all the mileage the car ran no matter if electric or petrol. What if I make full electric all the mileage necessary to change the engine oil? basically no petrol run and must change oil even if less than a year? Have you noticed this behaviour and do you know why?
  23. Hi everyone, Just in case (may read in one of my other post that links to this) someone has above issue, mine was fixed by dealer. The issue appeared right after 1941 software update. Went back to dealer, they could not resolve at first but finally did a reset by their tester to the software and now the e-manager menu is back and works again.
