Error selector lever showing on and off
this behaviour is exacly the same like on mine, so a factory issue obviously. So many people have it. I doubt a firmware update would solve this issue, however it is possible if the error is only due to the much discussed solenoid contact. The software may interpret a not firm contact as a transitory event even if in the end the contact is well established.

Error selector lever showing on and off
Hi, I tried several times to no avail. The access on PHEVs is different, needs to disassemble a lot of stuffs there. At the end I got it to dealer. Even if I could access the solenoid, it seems the contacts are factory designed errors or material is not so reliable so I decided to take the whole new version subsystem that contains the solenoid because dealer said the new version has been updated and the issue is eliminated. New part was 300 euros around and the service another 300 around. So far so good..

Error: selector lever...
It is something around 600 euros. It is very likely to re-appear. Once under warranty I wouldn't wait for it to re-appear because those selector levers are known for manufacturer design faults. Mine appeared after 3 yrs and yours too.

rear tunnel air vent grille knob
Hi guys! Recently my daughter succeeded to tear off the left knob from rear air vent grille. Do you have any idea where can be found only the knob? I have checked parts dealers, shops and googled all around but found only the whole grille.

Error: selector lever...
Unfortunately can't, I just have the part number 5WA713033CE and bowden wire linkage end 5WA713761A. Dealer said it is a redesigned part because originally had some design issues. In PHEV's can't take picture because it is more hidden than in normal versions.

Error: selector lever...
Back again, about a month since dealer replaced the new part and everything is all right, no error even in cold weather like before happened mostly when outside was colder. Have to admit that when I was reading all kinds of issues related to this error message like whole gearbox faulty I was a little worried but it seems no other issue here only the selector lever mechanism. The new part is completely redesigned at least mine looks different for PHEV version. Good luck!

Error: selector lever...
After more than half a year with all these selector lever error messages decided to take it to the dealer. Part ordered, waiting to arrive. Dealer said it is a very common error and the new parts were redesigned and no more faulty. In fact also looks different than old parts. Will get back as soon as they replace it with feedback. The most of the error notifications got winter time, so it is very likely the sensibility to temperature of the parts inside selector.

Yes I meant shift by wire

Error: selector lever...
Try to find the string with a plastic handle under the lever panel and you could put in drive. You only need a flat plastic tool to flip the selector panel up.

Error selector lever showing on and off
if manual is available, there is surely instruction on how to replace your part that dealer want to replace, and that is enough for us to get to solenoid. From there we are done.

Error selector lever showing on and off
I don't have the manual unfortunately. If you ever find out or get the manual please share.

Error selector lever showing on and off
This is the original instruction translated from Russian. Yeah, it is a piece of cake to fix it in a non-phev version but I still haven't found how to get to solenoid on a phev. As I have explained before, it is easy to remove the upper cover containing the lever but after that you come across a part with aluminium fin case which is harder to remove. I guess the solenoid should be beneath that part somewhere. The labour from this point seems to be more complicated. I just hope to find somewhere how to continue the removals. Error selector lever showing on and off
Thanks for info, I thought that they won't struggle to repair or replace only the solenoid from the whole part. It is a pity that they charge so much only for the contacts of the solenoid that can be repaired easily once this part is removed or only get access to the solenoid. Once removed all the parts and get acces to solenoid, it can be easily removed and in a few easy steps strengthen those contacts. I suspect the contacts once weakened the signal is not always firm and returns error to computer. I also noticed that the error comes on almost every time when the car sits in colder weather so this fact again confirms we are dealing with contact material temperature dilatation. It seems these contacts were not designed well, so these common errors. If you talk to others, maybe you could ask how to get to the solenoid, which parts have to be removed in order to get access to it

Error selector lever showing on and off
Ok, let me know what was it

Error selector lever showing on and off
no, I didn't. It is still alarming me sometimes, but no issue, everything works just fine. Maybe a false alarm. Where the solenoid should be, I have a module with aluminium case with radiator fins and can't remove unless all the central tunnel removed. Beneath, others have some sponge, I have a rubber membrane also not accessible. Maybe my solenoid is under the rubber membrane.

Error selector lever showing on and off
What is your Octavia model? There are a couple of threads for standard models but mine is PHEV and the solenoid contacts so much blamed for this issue is not so easy to reach on these. I have this issue since August, same way as you coming on and off, but since than everything works fine.

Error: selector lever...
I have checked the error codes now with the tester (the gearbox error started in august) and of course it was listed but when clicked details showed no errors. Quite weird because since than car is running without any issues. Along with this error code there were a couple of other errors listed like hybrid system charge, brake, etc but none of them showed errors at its details and none of them showed up on the dash. I still suppose that the computer stores all the abnormal signals received even if those doesn't necessarily indicate real faults. Will stick to the solenoid contacts repair stated by djmartzian above if any abnormal behavior will come up in the future, before taking the car to dealer. Too many errors/alarms without any serious fault so far. Still weird.

Error: selector lever...
Thanks! I will let my mechanic check the error code soon when I go to oil change service.

Error: selector lever...
Same error message here came up on holiday, error Selector lever fault, you can drive on. Visit workshop Popped up every morning last week of August, then disappeared during the day, no error shown even on diagnostic check after disappear. Car is working just fine with or without error message. All this with the petrol engine / hybrid mode. Came back home, using in electric mode in the town but since than no pop up message for a week already. Wondered the 12V battery state would cause the electronics to return this error as charging the car also charges the 12v battery. I remember couple of moths ago I had a single case when started the car in the morning and the dash popped up with the message regarding 12v battery low and asked me to drive it for a while (not sure if started hybrid mode or it changed to petrol engine automatically but for sure engine was running). After 2 km the battery message gone away since than no error. Not sure how the car charges 12v battery when running only with petrol engine, is that same charger circuit or the high voltage circuit has its own charger and the petrol engine another one. Hope the issue is not the selector lever mechanism though because car is not under warranty.

early oil change notification
Yeah, I was thinking about that too
-
early oil change notification
Changed oil at 40k km and car is set to 15k km oil change (VRS IV, phev). After 10500 km notification on dash appeared : oil change service in 4500 km. Why warns so early? Ok, this time 10k km was ran in only 2 months.

No audio
It was intermittent for me too but still annoying coming back over and over again but I did not experience battery issue from this issue since today. However, the no audio issue had been fixed since the update, I still faced micro-issues like volume touch slider not working but this could be related to Android Audio as the slider came back when I started operating something on AA.

21 plate Octavia PHEV - "engine needs to run for longer" error
Mine behaves like yours it seems though, when I started went into hybrid mode and started engine right away and starts-stops engine just like when in hybrid mode just that more frequently together with the warning sign (I would say it is rather an info message). When you first came across this warning do you remember whether you used a lot in EV mode only or prevailingly in EV mode? Did you try to obey and run it longer than refuel?

21 plate Octavia PHEV - "engine needs to run for longer" error
yes that makes sense. I am using the same scheme as you mon-fri EV only and weekends shorter hybrid trips but first time 3 weeks now didn't use hybrid mode so I guess it was time to run it for a while

Engine needs to run longer
If you run your car for long in EV mode, the engine may get corrosion due to different factors such as condensation, etc. The car than may recognize you did not use engine for long and start it automatically to run it for a while. Mine did so (after 3 weeks of full EV) and I kept running the engine, refueled and the notification vanished.
