  1. In fact, restoring primary user and settings was simple, once logged in it remembered radio stations and destinations. The one positive is that i now have a station logo for LBC, a first!
  2. After installing 1989 OTA last Friday my system had a complete meltdown this morning with an almost continuous freeze and reboot cycle. I was reluctant to reset to factory settings because I've had problems in the past setting the primary user, but I bit the bullet and did a reset. Early indications are that it worked, and the primary user set up went ok as well. The reset seems to have fixed the ACC driving on the right issue as well. Finger crossed, and thanks for the suggestion.
  3. An update. The dealer had the car for a couple of hours but couldn't work out what was wrong. Is now booked in for 2 days next week....
  4. Btw, mine seemed ok the day after the OTA update, but it started freezing again today. For anyone thinking about installing it - don't!
  5. I'm not going to do a factory reset. Car is booked in next week to see whether dealer can get windscreen washer to work. They can look at it then. Skoda broke it, they can fix it.
  6. Ota. Makes it worse. Skoda have messed up a car that was finally working ok with 1985.
  7. I found out today that 1989 has brought back the issue that makes ACC think the car is in Europe so it refuses to overtake on UK motorways. Unbelievable.
  8. Mine updated to 1989 OTA this morning. Complete mess. System won't leave Android Auto, all buttons freeze including climate hard button. Reboot and it does it again. Worked perfectly with 1985. Nightmare. I really hate this car now, I new I should have bought a Corolla estate.
  9. Breakdown man cleared the filter but not fixed, needs an airline to clear blockage in the pipe, so booked into the dealer this week.
  10. You're probably right Steve. It's under extended warranty, AA are sending a Skoda breakdown service, will post an update.
  11. Pump is running, definitely not a fuse. Before they stopped the washers did a final squirt with a small volume, looked like fluid had run out
  12. Hi there. Both front screen washers have stopped working, reservoir full and headlamp and rear screen washers working. Any ideas? Thanks
  13. On motorway runs with a flat battery, mpg has never been below 50 for me. A 200 mile round trip starting with full charge will be 60-65 mpg. 30 each way commute is 100 mpg plus. The great thing though is getting 800 plus on a tank when you do short journeys all week. Overnight charging on economy 7 is about 75p.
  14. No, just car shampoo. I'll report back, worth a try.
  15. Hi. A couple of the wheels on my Sept 2021 car seem to have 'white worm' corrosion, see picture. There's no sign of damage to the lacquer, they haven't been kerbed. The car has an extended Skoda warranty, what are the chances of this being covered? Thanks
  16. I ran an eHybrid Golf for three years and 30,000 miles during which it did this twice. The car decides that for whatever reason the petrol engine needs to run for a certain amount of time and won't let you override it. I don't think it's a fault. Now have a IV SEL estate, much nicer car than the Golf, BTW.
  17. I don't think you need to worry, the figure quoted is a prediction best on previous use and (I think) temperature. I ran a PHEV golf with this drivetrain from new, never should more than 30. Now have a 2021 IV estate, gives better mileage than the golf, but prediction is usually 25-29 miles. My journeys always involve 2 or 3 miles of fast A road. I wouldn't be surprised if the people seeing 30 plus are mainly driving in town.
  18. The car allows you to set charge start and stop times for each day of the week. Takes about 4 and a half hours for a full charge, you can do it all at cheap rate. It's the only way to run a PHEV.
  19. Hi there, I've got exactly this issue with a 2021 car, did you manage to fix it? Many thanks
  20. Correction, it's on 1803, not 1896
  21. Hi there. I'm looking at a 3 year old MK4 Octavia that's still on 1896 software. Has a full AA report and all functions are working as they should. Last service was done by a non-Skoda workshop, this maybe why it wasn't updated. It may never have gone wrong, of course. Non-Skoda garage has said in writing that if software problems cause a problem in the first year they will fix it under warranty. The car is a very good price. Am I worrying unnecessarily? I had a bad experience with an early mk8 golf that only behaved when updated to 1941. Any advice would be appreciated.
  22. That's extremely helpful, thanks James. My golf had the mother of all meltdowns last year, but the 1941 update sorted everything. Thanks again.
  23. Hi. I'm new to the forum and am about to switch from a 2022 Golf mk8 eHybrid to a 2021 Octavia IV. I'll be buying from a non-franchised dealer. Could someone let me know what the latest software version is please? The VW is on 1941, I don't know whether Skoda use the same numbers. Also, are OTA updates working OK? Many thanks. Ps, I know all about the VAG software issues from bitter experience, but 1941 has run perfectly for a year.
