DAB radio issues
Mine was 2020 Skoda Karoq Aerial antenna amplifier 5E5035577B which I bought from eBay but it was from a scrapped 2023 model Karoq.

Kessy boot/tailgate
I found unlock just drivers door, driver and rear door on drivers side or all doors so in the end I just went for unlock all doors as seemed to work every time.

Yep I read through my manual and couldn’t find the exact thing I was experiencing so wasn’t sure if I was doing something wrong or if there was a fault with the car (I’m new to Skoda and my previous car was 2006 so the technology was a lot older). I made some tests myself and sometimes the boot worked and sometimes not (after driving somewhere) so I decided to try with the settings and when turning off the dual unlock and just using the single door handle unlocks everything it now works fine (mine was never great at noticing my hand on the second wave of the dual unlock thing).

Thanks. In the end I turned off the second time door handle unlock and just use the first handle unlock and all works fine now.

DAB radio issues
When my reception was bad with my faulty amplifier I too noticed that I only used to receive mainly BBC so definitely think they are stronger. Since changing the amplifier though I can receive around ten times as many. I do usually do a rescan though if I swap to a different part of the country.

DAB radio issues
No, I don’t have a dashcam as know they can cause interference. I was reading today on a Facebook group about a guy that replaced the shark fin type antenna on top of the car and his new one had an antenna for the DAB so ran a cable from the new antenna to the front of the car. My antenna for the DAB is the heated rear window (and doesn’t interfere with the signal if on or off) but as soon as I replaced the amplifier it was like night and day. I could suddenly receive loads of stations whilst parked on my drive that I couldn’t receive before.

DAB radio issues
Mines 2020 and bought in August approved used. Apparently the amplifiers can just go. The new one was £20 so decided to give it a go and only takes 2 mins once the tailgate trim has been removed. Mine uses the heated rear window as the aerial.

DAB radio issues
Mine was the amplifier in the tailgate. The dealership wouldn’t admit there was a problem with the DAB reception but I couldn’t drive more than 100m without losing the signal. I bought a second hand amplifier from a 2023 scrapped Karoq and fitted myself and now absolutely perfect reception.

Kessy boot/tailgate
I wonder if some of you could help tell me if I have a fault or what I’m experiencing is normal as never had a keyless entry car before. My 2020 Karoq Edition has the keyless entry and for the most part this works fine. I put my hand in the drivers door handle once to unlock the drivers door and again to open the other doors (although sometimes it doesn’t seem to recognise the second time I put my hand on the door handle to unlock the other doors and sometimes it works fine) but my question is when I drive somewhere, get out of the car, shut the drivers door and goto open my boot (tailgate) manually from the handle by the rear view camera with the key in my pocket it sometimes just won’t unlock. I then have to get the key out of my pocket and unlock it using the remote. Is this normal (maybe a safety feature) or am I doing something wrong? If all doors are locked first thing in the morning and I go to put something in my boot and it always unlocks/opens fine first time when the key is in my pocket.

I wonder why so many of them aren’t working well that we have to replace them in the first place. Quite a few on Facebook have said their reception is not great.

DAB radio issues
In case any of you don’t get amazing reception from DAB I bought an aerial amplifier from a scrapped 23 reg Karoq from Lithuania and put in my 20 reg and it’s made 100% difference. I can now drive down the street without losing the signal! The only bit that was missing was the metal bit that pulls the amplifier in when you screw it in but managed to get the old one off the old amplifier. It’s a bit of a pain getting the boot trim back on but for £24 I can now have perfect DAB! Well worth a try if yours isn’t great. I’d go for the newest one you can find.

I found this vid for removing tailgate trim. Is this similar to how you did yours? Thank you for any help and apologies for all the questions. https://youtu.be/tCCEESv9w2c

A Pillar Trim Removal
I did mine recently and it was a bit of a nightmare. Getting it back on was the harder part. Start from the top and pull it towards you but also pull upwards. The top one should pop out (there are three clips). Then move to the middle one, then finally the lower one (be careful as the bottom speaker is connected and when 3 clips are removed you can unplug the speaker). The parking ticket holder wasn’t held in with a screw but a small black rivet type thing. I used pliers to gently remove and tweezers to remove the parts of the previous ticket holder that were stuck in the ridge. I then reused the small black rivet thing to clip in the new ticket holder. Fitting the trim back was hard as I was wedging it in from the windscreen side first so I could see the clips but took an hour and they still didn’t line up. I then fitted the side neared the door at the bottom first and looked from the outside of the windscreen in and they finally lined up. They then clipped in. It’s a job I wouldn’t want to do again in a hurry but looks like I may have to. My DAB reception is useless and someone on here said they replaced the DAB amplifier to solve this which is in the trim in the boot so I may have to try this.

I also watched Mr Fix and as far as I can see I have the latest firmware. I have a cheap scanner and it doesn’t show any issues but that could be because it’s a cheap scanner from Amazon. The only difference with mine to yours is I think the Edition model has the Columbus system.

DAB radio issues
This sounds exactly the problem I’m having. I bought a 2020 Edition model and it seems to receive some DAB stations but not tons and loses them all the time. I can drive out of my driveway and it loses the signal. I can literally turn a corner and it loses it! I made a 30 min drive yesterday and loses Absolute 80s 90% of the time. I purchased the car a few weeks back in Crewe and it seems to work better up there but in Bucks where I live it’s shocking. My gfriends 10 year old Ford Focus picks up way more stations and is rock solid not losing them. I had the car back to Crewe main dealer recently and they say it’s working as it should. The FM also seems fine. I had to replace the parking ticket holder on the front pillar As the previous owner had snapped it and was able to remove the trim but getting it back on was a nightmare. I guess it will be similar for the rear pillar. Might try it though as it’s driving me nuts. Spent my life’s savings on a car that seems to have complete useless reception. It has the stubby aerial on the roof which I think is for the GPS/Wifi but I believe the DAB/FM is in the rear heated window.

Screen wash pump stopped working
Thanks for this. My Karoq washers had rodent damage when I purchased the ‘approved’ used car from a Škoda dealer. They have repaired it and collected today and now the windscreen washer is only working when the bonnet is closed. Beforehand it was working when the bonnet was open and spraying all over the engine bay from the rodent damage where there was a leak in the hose. Not sure if it has some sort of sensor to tell it not to work when the bonnet is open.

Removable Boot Hook Missing
Mine has a rail on each side and what looks like a fixed (moulded hook) but none of the large moveable hooks. Not sure the best place to buy them from as even on eBay they were around £15 each which is a lot of money for a hook. 🪝

Removable Boot Hook Missing
Yep I thought that too. It looks like a genuine VAG windscreen though as has the logo. I bought it approved used from a main dealer and as I was driving it home noticed a stone chip so will have to get that fixed. Garages hate doing those as costs them a fortune whereas it should cost me £15 going through my insurance. I know some have accidentally snapped the parking ticket holder when cleaning but can’t see anything unless it was just removed. The hooks are showing up at crazy prices online so may just go without! Even the parking ticket holder is showing up at over £10! I found a place that sells them under £1 just now though so might try and fit it myself. The trim unclips but I’m just a bit nervous as only bought the car last weekend.

Removable Boot Hook Missing
Did you ever get this sorted? I just bought an approved used and it has rails on both sides but not hook. Also the parking ticket holder from the windscreen is missing.

Just bought a July 2020 manual Karoq Edition
Thank you for accepting me to the group. I’ve searched through for the items I mention. Picked up my July 2020 Karoq Edition 1.5 petrol manual from a Škoda main dealer last Saturday. Not had much luck so far. Tried to get the rear washer to work and nothing. Opened the bonnet to find water everywhere. Looks like a hose has sprung a leak. Sprayed front and rear with the bonnet open and it’s spraying out from near the reservoir like a fountain. Not sure if the front and back use separate motors but the front motor you can hear but can’t hear anything when trying the rear. Hope this is covered under the 12 months warranty that came with the car! When trying to go up a steep hill into a car park could smell a burning type smell. Have not had a car with hill assist before so maybe I was not releasing the clutch enough? Another issue which maybe nothing is I have the virtual cockpit and the active lane assist works but on vids it looks like there should be horizontal white lines on the screen whereas mine are just orange lines (with no horizontal or a pic of a car etc) going from bottom to top of screen. If I do go across the white line they go from orange to white. The lane assist light at the bottom of the screen is green to indicate it’s working but I would have thought the large lines would have been green instead of orange? I’ve read the handbook which is slightly confusing as mentions green and orange but not sure if that’s referring to the indicator at the bottom of the screen whereas I’m looking at the big lines that go diagonally. Apart from that I love the car and it drives well. It’s taken me years to save for the car and the second most expensive thing I’ve ever bought so am just nervous at the moment that everything is working ok.
