  1. I got the same email. Australia based. Very disappointing.
  2. In terms of the splash shields, I never ended up doing them myself. I can’t remember why I wrote that there but vaguely remember one corner may need cutting off. My understanding on the rim size requirement is that the TTRS calipers+370mm rotors will fit under any 19, but require specific 18s or the addition of a wheel spacer to fit. Best to do some google research to see what you can uncover there.
  3. I did a parts list for the TT RS upgrade years ago. Not sure if it’s still accurate but it’s a start if you want to explore it: Caliper Left # 8J0615107B Caliper Right # 8J0615108B 2 X Rotor # 8J0615301K (370mm) Pads # 8J0-698-151-K Sensor # 8J0-615-437 2 X Caliper carriers 8P0615301 Splash shields 8J0615311E (may need modifying) Good luck.
  4. Let the rest of the community chip in here of course - but my thought would be that if the other caliper is showing no signs of damage I would not see a reason to replace it. Just give the other one a good inspection.
  5. Wow, now that is something I’ve not seen before. Looks like there is a further hairline crack running down on that last photo, too. I would be worried that the pad backing will potentially snap. My advice is don’t drive it and get a new or used caliper on there as quick as you can. That caliper is a throwaway. You can probably still use your current pads and rotors. For the replacement part on a RS245, Red TRW rear left part number is 5F0 615 423. Rear right 5F0 615 424. (For the 310mm discs)
  6. So, I finally found the solution here. As described above, ensure you leave the mirror switch pointed to the L mirror (if you are RHD). This turns on the feature. Set your mirrors, save. Then put car in reverse, set your mirrors, save. Every time you go into reverse now it should remember the reverse setting. However it wouldn’t always remember to go back to normal when I drove off: frustrating (same problem as OP). The answer: the ECU needs to see 0 km/h for at least a half second. If you are one of those people that goes from R to D whilst even slightly rolling, the mirror will not return to normal. Reverse out of your driveway, stop the car dead, put it in D and when you drive away the mirror will return to normal every time.
  7. I finally got around to installing the RPM performance anti drone res delete this morning. It took me about 75 minutes on jack stands at home. Bought a cheap exhaust pipe cutter off Amazon. Very easy job all in all. The advertised anti drone aspect of the product is bang on, no drone at all. It releases a little bit more volume. Not intrusive and feels factory. In fact this is how it should have come from the factory! I compare it to my old stock 2016 S3 with the exhaust flaps open. Don’t think on this one, just do it, in my opinion. I will be adding a downpipe at some point, so will be interested to hear if any drone comes in then. If so, I will just refit the stock resonator. For now, perfect. EDIT: note this was fitted on a non GPF RS245
  8. 2019 RS245 with the EA888.3
  9. Yeh I went for the RPM Performance anti-drone one. Haven’t fitted it yet, it’s sitting at home. When fitted I’ll report back
  10. It's a Helmholtz resonator - a spectrum analyser app on your phone and some calculations and you can in theory stop drone in any exhaust with these. I'm keen to hear from someone who's used the RPM performance one - thinking of ordering it and really don't want any drone!!
  11. Update - pulsates for about 1-2 cycles, then stops, so still a win at the moment - used to go on for ~3-5 mins
  12. I should add that 11g of AC PAG Oil was taken out, and 39g put back in. Perhaps not enough oil from factory.
  13. I got the AC re-gassed yesterday. As part of this they renew the AC oil that's mixed in with the gas. AC specialist I went to mentioned that sometimes AC compressors can get noisy on old oil. At the moment, the sound hasn't returned. The car had 65,000kms on it, and had lost only 10% of the AC gas since new. In any case the full 500g is in there now and it's happy days. If the sound returns I'll update here.
  14. Did anyone hunt this one down? I have the exact same sound on my 2019 RS245. Getting the AC gas topped up in the morning to see if that is the culprit.
  15. Official line from VAG is its lifetime but ignore that and change it. Here’s the parts list: DSG DQ381 filter - 0GC325183D DSG filter O ring - N91084501 DSG fluid (OEM G055529A2) DSG bottom drain plug washer - N0438092 DSG mechatronic unit drain plug & captive washer - N90965401 DSG filler adapter - vas6262a kit (or one of many other alternatives)
