  1. Is it worth it may depend on overal condition of the car. How many other faults, how is the chassis, how much rust, have you made any major renewals ie. suspension etc. Or modifications. If everything is original in a 2016, perhaps just let it go and get another one.
  2. Window tint. Everything behind b pilar to 15 % or less. Wheels make hella difference, but a better style is subjective. Try ie. Velonity to 3D model / configurator. I have seen black emblems on black octavias, dont look good imo, but again it is subjective. Also black wheels are a bit risky move with a black car. Some look good some look like having steel wheels, escpecially when the car is moving and not just cleaned. Black + surface polished wheels look good on black car tho. Remove skoda and octavia lettering from the boot if not done yet. And prepare to polish the area afterwards. And polishing the whole car would ofc make it look better. Also ie the B pilar plastic trims cud be polished or wrapped. They sure are scratchy at this point if they have original surface. Some like to dechrome wrap or swap the grill surounding to black. This is again imo bit on grey area with a black car, escpecially if you are not going for sport look. But if you go for this i wud consider matt black wrap.
  3. With the coupling the clutch disks may go bad but i believe that does not cause noise, just slipping and no rear drive. Haldex oil wud then have lots of junk in it but as you know it always has some (the pump screen and housing). Have you considered driveshaft joints? Cud cause noise. Also, changing rear diff oil is simplest oil change one can do so perhaps try that out? You wud also see if there is ie. metal in the oil. Also have you tried to lift the car and a) run it with 1 gear all wheels up and are all wheels spinning and how is the noise/rear diff? b) engine off hand brake off spinning the rear wheels by hand (wheel on other side shud spin to opposite direction). You should hear some noise from the diff while doing so, but nothing crazy.
  4. If you have VCDS or similar check if there is errors. Faulty crankshaft or camshaft sensor may cause this. Such problem is usually intermittent. May also be caused by the vvt system that these engines have, especially if you have older mk3 that have older vvt system (with visible 'pressure bank vessel'). Google these.
  5. I guess there would be a wire going into bottom of the fuel filter housing if there is a sensor.
  6. Done now and there is more pulling in higher speeds. Not a dramatic difference but noticeable. Cannot be 100 % sure with this tho since the tires that came with the wheels are different and used.
  7. To rise your stress levels, I had a crack around that area which I only noticed after enough rust developed to visible outside panel 🙄
  8. Try to find it here: https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/skoda/CZ/OCT/753/1
  9. Might not affect into initial positioning of the flaps when ignition is turned on?
  10. Thanks for the effort, however the thing is, I am planning to update my summer wheels that came with the car (much older Yeti wheels) and want to keep existing 225/50R17 tires. There is a nice and cheap second hand set of MAK wheels, which otherwise match the octavia scout 3 wheel specs, except for the offset (40 instead of 45). I guess i wont even notice the offset change, at least when looking at what people do with their RS equivalents and wheel spacers. Yet i have figured that it might cause more pulling and be little more harsh for the chassis parts. However, might be only marginal difference. Guess ill have to try it out, probably I could even sell the wheels forward with equal price if not happy with em.
  11. Hi, has anyone fitted 17x7 wheels with ET40 on octavia mk3 pre-facelift. Original is ET45. I know it is not much of an difference but still, any noticiable effects?
