Rubber v carpet vote...update as controversial mat debate rolls on!
The Tunnel cover cost me about £15 but then I stick grandkids in the back. Stops them arguing which one is in the front. The rear AC outlets are worth it. They are a push fit, but one has come out twice in a year, so I just used a spot of glue to hold it this time.

I liked them because they fit precisely and don't move. Also, there is a 1cm+ solid lip round the edges so you are less likely to get any moisture or crap sliding off them an on to the carpets. As I mentioned previously for the back there is also a rubber tunnel cover which is well worth putting in if you put children or old people in the back.

Went to see Karoq in showroom - confused !!!
My SE L was the "special" Red 6 months old and 3,400 on the clock and immaculate. Had a dash cam fitted (hard-wired to ignition with no visible wiring) 4 hooks in back rather than 2, the mat in the boot, vario-flex seats, rear tablet holders, the door kick plates etc. heated seats. We weren't offered it first, but we were picky about the 2nd had cars they did show us. So it was almost a last resort, it may have been intended for one of the staff if not sold to us. IT saved us 30% on list and had a service etc before we got it. Also looking at the digital manual, a couple of updates had been done to it. As far as I was concerned, it is a new car that a main dealer had done the shake down, running in and servicing. To the OP I would say go and look at the Škoda website for 2nd hand cars https://www.skoda.co.uk/used-cars/karoq I assume you are looking at used, as the Bolero hasn't been on new Karoq AFAIK for several years. You have a better chance of finding what you are looking for.

Demonstrators tend to be 6 months old and more rather than less in spec. Mine was an SE L with a few nice bits thrown in.

hiec is not supported natively on Win10 or Win11. There is an add-on that for MS Photos that supports some heic variants, but you have to pay for it. I have a couple of apps that do support heic. However, most forums don't support that format. Your best bet is JPG and PNG

Went to see Karoq in showroom - confused !!!
Never mind this forum, heic files are not widely supported anywhere (not natively on Win11). Even where they are "supported" the support for differing versions is patchy. Several camera makers interpreted the specifications differently and added their own extensions. It is going to be a while before the mess is sorted out and things properly standardized. There won't be much support in forums and other places until this happens. By that time there is likely to be a new standard people work to. So the rule of thumb is don't post heic files.

Good video. However after a year of driving I prefer the version I have, which surprised me, it's less cluttered.

Mine is a 2023/4 SE L and has the Amundsen and a virtual cockpit. The display is all configurable so it can be circular dials but i prefer a digital speed. (revs are along the top). BTW I prefer the Amundsen to the Columbus as I have two physical knobs for volume and the menu scrolling which I prefer.

Rubber v carpet vote...update as controversial mat debate rolls on!
They should be fitted as standard to all the range! Re rubber vs carpet (for car mats obviously) due to the Climate Change hoax the weather has been unpredictable, and we never did end up putting the carpets back in over the "summer". So we have had the rubber mats in for the past 14 months since we got the car. I would recommend the Škoda Original mats. They are heavy duty and have a mm perfect fit. Also, a solid 1cm+ lip round the edge so noting washes off the mat to the carpets. Which is the reason I fitted the grills to the air vents. The lip on the mat in the back goes right up to the vent. What was the result of the poll on carpets vs rubber mats? ,

Question from a Karoq owner
I said it is a myth usually pushed by climate change deniers. I didn't say you were one. (are you?) EV sales are not going as well as many hoped because there is a lot of pushback by some people. OTOH, the EV sales are quite substantial. Though regions vary a bit. No one is going back to petrol/diesel ICE, at least not according to the groups I talk to. The change from 100% EV's to 90% EVs at the original deadline point in Europe is to give some flexibility, and as I said because some scenarios don't work well with EV's These will aim to eventually use hydrogen. The majority of the world will be EV's. However, this is not good for the environment when you look at what goes into a battery and battery recycling. So, we are swapping one problem for another. The solution in many parts of the world is better public transport. 85% of the UK population is urban, if you can get them to use public transport most of the time that does far more to solve the problem. When living in cities I often didn't have, or need, a car.

Question from a Karoq owner
This is a myth put around by people who think climate change is a hoax. Initially, there was a 100% cut off on selling new ICE vehicles. EV's have improved greatly, but there are a few scenarios, Emergency Services etc farmers who need a re-fuel time measured in seconds and/or where there are no way of putting in EV chargers. Therefore, the 100% has been relaxed to 90% However, in a decade, this will change when Hydrogen power becomes commercially viable in the same way EVs are now. It will then be only EV's and Hydrogen power, the petrol and diesel power will go. This will only be for new vehicles so that vintage cars will still run, but most vintage cars are not used daily or over lots of miles. Most current ICE cars will be gone in 20–25 years. As there are Hydrogen buses running now (in Coventry) and JCB has hydrogen powered earth moving trucks I think that most of the HGV fleet will go to Hydrogen power over the next 15–20 years What some manufacturers are doing is hoping to go from petrol/diesel to hydrogen for some models.

Question from a Karoq owner
Skoda, unlike other brands haven shoehorned electric and hybrid into current models but designed a new model from the ground up. So there are E models to match the current ICE models. Being VAG they will share as many VAG components as possible

Fuel Consumption stats- accuracy
I think it is multiple times per second. However, it depends on how many satellites it is synched with and speed of travel and the changes of direction. At a steady 30MPH with 6 satellites, one system I used came down to a 10m accuracy. In urban areas, where you loose and re-sync satellites all the time, the accuracy can be far less. certainly at higher speeds.
-
Fuel Consumption stats- accuracy
Accuracy varies depending on the number of satellites and the speed of the car. Also, how fast the navigation system can process and update. Never mind wheel size and tyre changes. So it can probably go from 100% to 95% accurate. Calibration for legal purposes is not something the Sat Nav people want to get it to, otherwise you would need to re-calibrate every 12 months or every 10K miles AND every tyre/wheel change and.... so it goes on. Calibration would need to be done at a Registered Calibration Station, on a rolling road, take time to do and, like the MOT, only be valid at the time it was done. In short, it isn't going to happen unless the EU decided it is a Good Idea™ after consultation with the car manufacturers.
-
Fuel Consumption stats- accuracy
Absolutely. The Sat Nav and Car companies don't want to be involved in (lots of) court cases of speeding fines. I am 99.99% certain that somewhere in the terms and conditions it says the accuracy is "approximate" and can't be used as evidence in court. I had this discussion with a Sat Nav company years ago.

Fuel Consumption stats- accuracy
The last 12 months I have got 39.9MPG on a Karoq SE L 1.5 manual, according to the Škoda app. However, most of my driving is short journeys round urban areas. When I do the occasional long runs to visit family which are 80-90% motorway, then I am getting over 50mpg. So I am happy overall. I could drive more economically, I suppose but I am too old to change driving habits. Also, I have the Costco with the cheapest fuel prices near me. (that is cheapest for all the Costco stores) so I am paying about 10p a litre less than the loca Asda/Morrison's etc. So I can't really complain.

1.5 Tsi Power Cutting Out
A mix of individual car settings and condition coupled with driving style could either raise or lower the occurrences. A difficult thing for VAG to sort out easily I susspect.
-
1.5 Tsi Power Cutting Out
That is what I think. For me, it can happen several times in a row on a short local trip and then not for weeks. I think it is part driving style, and only happens in a few circumstances, so VAG can't be bothered to do a lot of work to fix a "minor" intermittent problem.
-
1.5 Tsi Power Cutting Out
I don't know enough, on this particular point, to argue either way. However, your point is quite feasible and VAG could just ignore the problem if it is not clear how to solve it, or the problem doesn't warrant, in their view, the man-hours to fix it. Now I am retired, I don't get to the conferences I used to so I can have a quiet informal word with the right people. :-(

1.5 Tsi Power Cutting Out
I have the same problem. (1.5 manual 2024 KAroq) I think it is driving style ingrained from over 40 years in conventional cars that are not stop/start

Thatcham Approved - What category alarm/immobiliser does my Karoq have?
Just to confuse things, my 2023 Mfr, 24 plate, SE L also has an additional immobilizer/tracker. It is a Meta Trak S5-VTS which was fitted by the dealer as it was their demo car. Apparent Johnson's do this with all their demo cars, so I assume they get a good trade discount. This version with a fob requires the fob (as well as the car key) to be in the car to start it. When I bought the car, they deregistered it. Though, I also called Meta Trak to confirm the change of ownership. They also gate be a price for reactivating, but a Škoda 1.5 petrol, manual SE L is not exactly a target. So I declined. Especially as mentioned the car has an alarm, immobilizer and the phone app is a tracker.

The Petrol vs Diesel Dilemma
That's interesting. So my decision to go petrol over diesel and use E10 seems justified.
