Hi! I was looking for a seat replacement for my second hand daily that purchased last year. On my web browsing journey I found a full Monte Carlo interior in great condition and I didn’t doubt that it was a great opportunity. They just need a good wash and ready to rock. The only bad side is that I would like to keep the heating feature, very used where I leave. So here I am, looking for the right OEM article numbers. This is what I found in LLL parts as original article numbers: Bottom part 5J0963555A 5J0963555C Backrest part: 5J0963557A 5J0963557C Both are numbers for sports seats. Which are the right ones? Do I need anything else apart of the heating elements? My head says no, but better to ask. Anything to suggest? Some pictures of the front seats and references Thanks in advance!

Oh hell… it looks complex. I may have to live with it since normally I have CarPlay there. Maybe doesn’t worth it on a daily car. But so far is great that you are posting the solution here and might help others with a clear explanation. That is very much appreciated.

Hi, did any of you fixed this? Just got mine. Works great except the clock and my OCD is killing me. I read that lots of VAG cars started to hav ethe issue like if after 10 years something goes wrong.

Just installed the MIB STD2 in my 2014 skoda Fabia mk2. Everything works great, except something that I knew it might happen… the damn clock on the head unit is not reflecting the cluster time. Lots of info around but no clear solution. The issue is reported as the problem 00:00 to briefly 6:28 time issue

Will I see in screen the car and sensors changing color with proximity? Steering wheel controls. Will they work properly? USB adapter, I have already.

Hi @pab567 , I have been searching options to install an MIB STD2 in my car. It is a Skoda Fabia mk2 (5j) year 2014. I see that many people had installed in octavia, superb, but nothing regarding the little one from the brand. My car has originally a Bolero, left steering wheel controls, rear parking sensors and bluetooth module under the seat for calls. Is my gateway supporting this update? (what I read here... module 5F ready) What do I need for installation or is it just plug&play. I guess a 40 to 52 pin adaptor. All very valid points. Disconnecting the battery takes 0,5 minutes and it can save a big headache. Not big fan of Chinese crap but I always prefer closest look to OEM look rather than aftermarket good brands. Call me crazy. i have an excellent experience with another leisure car I have (Porsche 987 Boxster). There was a development between a Porsche fan and a Chinese company to have a good head unit that can fit 987 and 997. It fits the original design, buttons, and includes wireless CarPlay etc etc. excellent add that even works if you have the Bose speaker system. i learnt the lesson and better go with something better in the skoda. found this interesting unit, RCD880 PRO. It is basically an original RCD330 chassis with new front. So it’s a real plug&play. you keep the VAG software style, even the screens for parking sensors. positive is that this unit has a rear USB to plug the wireless CarPlay adaptor. Yes, it’s more expensive. Update. FIXED. my early guesses confirmed it. At some point when unplugging the Chinese head unit, voltage went higher than expected to the plug in the gateway. That was the reason why there was no communication. happy to have the car back with the radio working but also with some issues it had since I bought it last October. Wiring on the 2 front door were completely destroyed, now is al fixed and all buttons and door lock working. time to send back the cheap radio and search something better.

Buying a battery charger is a to do list for sure, not only for this car but also for the other. I’m very looking forward to get this fixed and share, but also checking what head unit can be a solution, I checked that they sell RCD660 pro with CarPlay and plug&play. Regarding the language barrier, English isn’t my mother language either. Can tell you… living in a big city in Sweden, where lots of big corporate offices are established is a pole of attraction for foreigners. I’m one of those. I lived in Germany before and learnt the language since they are more stubborn to switch to English. In Sweden is completely different. Born and raised Swedish speak perfect English and rather prefer to speak it to listening silly Swedish from expats like me. People that can’t speak English here are normally not born here and come from specific countries and chose learning Swedish, and totally understand. They come to forge a life here. I think I have enough with Spanish, english, German and Portuguese in my head, and also not expecting to live forever here. It’s just a stop for a while in my life haha.

Just to give some clarity, voltage was measured before ignition, and as I read, if it’s 12 or slightly higher is a healthy battery. Very crazy. i got a quick call with the workshop, and the guy said that he saw the lack of communication between car and radio and that he can fix it. Apart of that he will also fix the wiring on my right door. I knew this but was waiting to have the time to fix it myself. But… if he fixes my issue, why not get the car completely fixed? I might get the car tomorrow so will keep posted here. Spoiler alert communication between him and me is quite poor since his English is not the best, and my Swedish… close to 0 😂. Still will try to get the most accurate answer to the issue to help any future cases.

i measured the battery this morning and it was 12,2. Quite disappointed since obd was reading something else the days before. I was dreaming about having solved the issue. but maybe it left some charge after my 90 km drive I did on Sunday with the car. truth is that I bought this car as a multipurpose second car for the household back on last October. Being room mate with an Audi S3 sedan facelift that don’t want to kill in short journeys. lets see if the workshop finds the issue and we get a final verdict. If not I might have to make an appointment in official dealer and prepare my wallet

New guess… I’ve noticed that the battery is 11,2 volts before starting the car. One of the things that was buzzing in my head lately was that due to other reasons, for example, start&stop never working, and just doing it after I unplugged the battery. It worked a few times and then back to normal not working. also noticed that when SS is working, headlights when the car turns on again really get super weak, almost off. With that said, I read some people having issues with some systems in their cars when a battery is weak. could that be the case? before I leave the car at the workshop to morrow I will measure voltage directly to the battery instead of using OBD

Thanks for the reply. What you see in VCDs are the many attemps I did this afternoon. Do not follow that time. Car clock was restarted the many times I disconnected the battery, praying for a system reboot. Another thing that I was annoyed, when all these happend, also the kms done since last reset were gone, and back to 0. that also shocked me, and maybe the reason of thinking that there weas some extra tension going through the network? I really dont know how to search thos "J" components. Do you know those members with VCDS seniority? I might PM them Worst case, monday morning I leave the car at a workshop and cross fingers. the last option is to go to skoda dealership, but appointments are, earliest, end of February.

Hi! I will try to answer one by one your suggestions: Did you check all the pins and sockets were straight and clean. All pins were working and they were unplugged for a few minutes maximum. I tested in to headunits, the OEM Swing, and the chinese one. same results. they are a brick. I also checked all fuses and there´s electricity through all of them. Connectors connected correctly. I am trying to connect the Swing radio as it was originally, no pins or connectors changed Can you recoded the original radio back to its original code (does the OBDEleven or you take a back-up of all settings before removing the original radio, I know VCDS has something that gets you to this. 11.17v at the pin connections is that a good voltage at that point, did you have the engine running when testing if both radios work. To be fair I haven´t done anything before unplagginf the Swing radio. I thought it was going to be an easy process, plug&play literally. Actually, when I plugged the chinese radio for the first time it worked, and the reason of unplugging it was that the sound outcome was poor with some redidual noise on the back. that, including some minor aesthtical things made me take it away and go back to OEM. I guess this is where something happened. Serial number is missing can you enter that. If that doesn't work perhaps re-enter serial number, hardware and software and hardware numbers and versions as a full set for entry. Note I do not know the system and have no idea if this would work or make things worse just the type of things I would try when nothing else is working with computers. Hello everyone. I was on the mission of installing a new radio in my car. I unplagged the original and plugged the new Aliexpress cheap unit. It looked so cheap that decided to come back to OEM for now. But here comes the problem, for some reason in the process, when I uninstalled and isntalled the chinese unit it stop working, thinking that was the radio. I brought the Swing radio back and same, nothing working, nor screen or button lighting. I did a OBDeleven scan and it thows 01304 error. I cheked the fuses voltage and they are all good, also both headunit fuses. I disconnected the battery for almost 2 hours nothing happend either. What else can I do? Is there a way to reboot the gateway? maybe is in a sort of protection mode now. Thanks in advance
