I've picked up a RCD330 from an old friend who is upgrading to a Pioneer HU, I won't get it for a couple of weeks yet, but want to be ready to fit it on receipt. Its one of the 'no brand' units and is loaded with the carplay firmware. My 2011 Fabia mk2 currently has the swing radio. Will I require any adapters etc to get this to work? Will the existing fascia/surround still fit? Also, can anyone recommend a camera for use with this HU? I'm aware it will require some coding in VCDS, i've found instructions on that already.

Looks like it uses the same quadlock connector so should plug and play fine. 

 

Surround looks the same size and shape also so could be lucky

 

 

Cheers hutchy! It looked straightforward enough. Think I can get away with a cheapo camera too - I think I have one spare from a dashcam that should work! Lucky haha

Update: Received, fitted and working like a treat! Parking sensors worked fine, lost maxidot audio menu but I never used that anyway, vehicle not fitted with MF wheel so can't report back on that :P Really recommend this, solid unit! Only complaint is Audio quality through CarPlay, though thats an apple issue not the HU. Spotify over bluetooth sounds miles better than on carplay.

Looks smart!! Does the iPhone maps work via car play giving you basically in car sat nav??

Hi regarding the fitting is it a straight swap with the rns310? Am aware I’ll loose the inbuilt sat nav but am guessing all other maxi dot functions will work?

Sorry folks, only just picked up these comments - @JGrindel yep, maps work a treat - apple maps or google maps both work via the unit

@Kammy yep! You get a nice display like this (not my photo, just another parkpilot photo - too lazy to go take a pic!)
I'm told that if you fit a compatible camera then you get the parking guide lines too - magic

@Emountain98 it was a straight swap, dead easy - just plug in and go. The only thing i needed for mine was an adapter for the radio antenna (£5 on ebay) - not sure about maxidot functions - i'm sure someone with VCDS know how could assist there though

Do you have a rear camera install?? if you have it, that works fine?? because I have 2013 Skoda Fabia sport line but I have a problem when I put reverse (black screen on radio)

Its true that it does not have RDS for radio?The stations are without names ?

Hope I don´t disturb... Did you have any battery drain issues? I have purchased an RCD880 that is basically a 330 with new front and I see lots of threads about this topic.
