New turbo leaking already!
I took the gasket off; it looks bad already. It feels like a rubber gasket. I see it did not seal properly, with a line on the side. it is too small for my oil return feed pipe.

New turbo leaking already!
My Octavia 2009 BKD 140BHP 2009, I have fitted a new, reconditioned turbo. A few hours later found oil drips on the floor. Here are pictures. The above is no leaking, I am not sure if the new gasket on the return oil is useless? I hope it isn't the turbo leaking from inside, it would be a nightmare to take it off again. Hope to get the answer soon.

2.0tdi PD injectors no heat sheid copper rings?
I have a 2.0 TDI with a 140bhp 16v PD engine. I removed the injectors and installed new seal kits for both the 1.9 and 2.0 engines. I sent the cylinder head to be smoothed out, but I can't remember if it had a copper ring in the block because it was missing when I collected it. Additionally, the new copper ring did not fit my injectors. I recall that my old 1.9 8v PD 115 had different injectors, which featured a flat end on the needles that used copper rings. In contrast, my current injectors have a cone end. Should these injectors fit without copper rings? Is that how it's supposed to be?

Turbo failure. What cause this?
My engine has been rebuilt. Today, I had a nice chat with a guy who walked past me. He mentioned that he had a 1.9 TDI PD 115 Passat, which he found to be a very reliable engine, the before it was Transporter T4 2.5TDI a brilliant engine. However, he said his girlfriend bought a VW Golf 2.0 TDI 140 BHP BKD 2010, the same engine as mine, and he claimed the car wasn't very reliable, although he didn't specify the issues but problem with DSG. I was wondering, in the future, if I decide to buy another VAG vehicle, which petrol and diesel engines would be the best? Also, which ones should I avoid?

Turbo failure. What cause this?
What causes the oil feed to be blocked? Weirdly, I service every 8,000 miles. Oil specific 5w/40, 10w/40 and 15w/40 on my menu. I used 5w/40, which is great for the UK, so how could it be blocked?

Turbo failure. What cause this?
Do you know what could have caused this? I have a 2009 2.0 TDI PD with 140 bhp with 99,000 miles. Yesterday, while driving, I experienced a boost cut at around 3,000 RPM, and the car became very sluggish. I heard a metallic rattling noise, but I couldn't stop immediately because I was on a dangerous road. I managed to drive about 500 meters to a safe place, where I noticed grey smoke coming from the exhaust, which then turned white. I quickly turned off the engine to prevent further damage. The recovery team said that it need to remove the head gasket to ensure there are no metal debris in the cylinders, intercooler, inlet manifold, exhaust manifold, CAT and hoses.

Does this look like something is wrong?
I received an error code related to the glow plugs on my other forum. I replaced the glow plugs, looms, and relay, but I still have the error, and my engine shakes during the first cold start in the morning. I visited an auto electrical shop last week, and they stated that the glow plugs are functioning fine and suggested ignoring the error code. There is no coil warning light flashing on my dashboard. However, the engine shaking needs to be addressed, which could be due to an issue with the fuel injection system. I scanned the injectors and noticed that one of the four injectors has a significantly higher number than the others. Does that seem correct? which could be due to an issue with the fuel injection system.

Maxidot and non-maxidot cluster
My Octavia MK2 facelift 2009, I was cleaning my cluster, and somehow it was so fragile that it cracked the top of the screen! So have to look for a second-hand cluster to transfer the screen to my. I saw the Maxidot cluster. I like the silver mark on the top, as the non-Maxidot doesn't have silver. I was wondering if the Maxidot cluster screen can fit on the non-Maxidot? Here is an example of photos.

P0161D glow plug cylinder 4 A-ground circuit?
In March 2025, I had a glow plug fail in the third cylinder from the timing belt. Everything was fine after the replacement, until yesterday when my car passed the MOT. However, I was reminded that I have a code, P0161D, and the mechanic noted on paper that a new glow plug is needed for the fourth cylinder. I did some research for that code, but I could not find any information specifically about faulty glow plugs. It says to check the relay under the fuse box in the engine bay or the wiring harness connecting the glow plugs number 4. What does the term "A-ground circuit" mean? My car is 2.0TDI PD 140BHP 2009 The glow plugs weren't Chinese cheap, I bought OEM NKG https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/156118910533

Footwell lighting
Now it's getting dark (UK). I wasn't pleased with my footwell light, recently fitted and re-coded on my OBDII Elevean, it is too dimmed, as I thought it was also very hot when I touched it with my hand. Does anyone suggest the best LED from eBay that is bright 360-degree white rather than ice blue, which I disliked, It is W5W bulbs. Thanks

Are Octavia identical as A4 and Passat?
Some colleagues say that my car Octavia 2009 facelift, is an identical chassis to the A4 and Passat? If they are identical, then why is my fuel tank smaller than the A4 and Passat, which have a 65/70-litre tank? my is 55!

OBDeleven mainbeam with fog lights not working
Yes it's illegal use main beams as well. So you switch the main beams off when the car is approaching. The fog will be off too. So what's illegal? my English weren't my first language.
-
OBDeleven mainbeam with fog lights not working
No, you don't understand. When the main beams are on, the fog lights come on at the same time. You refer to the fog lights being off when you put the main beam on.

OBDeleven mainbeam with fog lights not working
Thanks for the info, it's silly to activated it, pay my 10 credit isn't working. So now I know. Thanks again

OBDeleven mainbeam with fog lights not working
I have OBDeleven because the VCDS is more difficult to use. I switched the cornering light on and fog lights on when the mainbeam is on, the cornering works fine, but the fog with the mainbeam isn't working. Does anyone know the reason? My car is Elegance 2.0TDI 140BHP PD 2009.

Instrument Cluster LED Replacment
Thank you for posting the diagram; it's very helpful! I would like to swap the white needles for green or red ones instead. The white needles from https://www.rapidonline.com/ operate at 3.1 volts, while the green ones I want are rated at 2.2 volts, and the red ones are at 1.6 volts. Would this work? It seems that the cluster requires 3-volt LEDs to function properly? Thanks.
