Sorry to hi jack this thread, but how much would you expect to pay to get your original spiders refurbed in anthracite?? was thinking about this for my black octy...but dont want to get ripped off
I have been quoted £55 a corner at pristine wheels who are very local to me. I sold my original spiders unfortunatley so would have to source some replacements.

I have these in 18's with skoda center caps. They came with the wheels and are just 90mm gel badges that stuck onto the cap.
Word of warning on replica alloys, mine have been on about 10 months now and the lacquer is lifting all over the place. I am torn between a refurb of these in anthracite or original spiders in anthracite.

They are Milotec grilles, I have some myself
-
I now have them
Thanks Tony
Looks good with the dash pod surround (Must straighten that car matt)

Cool Fatty I didn't know that. Wouldn't want to blow up my LG which is why I've steered clear of changing the head unit

Looking good as ever Mr Clubley

I've always wanted to change the stereo equipment but cant get my head round the k line among other things. When I look at electrics its like looking at a bowl of spagetti. I really can't get my head round electrics full stop

The octi is getting on I agree but in Vrs trim it is still a very eye catching motor.
I will probably get a Octi mk2 with dsg box when I decide it's time for change as I really want an auto next time and the mk2's looks are starting to grow on me now.
The trouble with cars today is there are not many stand out motors, I was looking at the latest octi online the other day and thought it was decidedly boring to look at IMO.

Old wives tale, it does sound like its aligning but it doesn't actually move, I've had the hose of and watched but it doesn't do anything, not sure whats going on really :confused::confused:
Me too and I had the throttle opened whilst doing exactly that and the sounds are definitely from inside the intake manifold. Possibly the injectors aligning but it certainly is not the tb

That does look very good.
I'm still trying to come up with a way of mounting one of these that doesn't mean ripping the car apart, losing a vent or having a big gauge pod somewhere :(
I was thinking along the lines of this Parts4vws.com and Parts4Audis.com - Blank DIN Panel
It's a genuine vw part but dont know if it would fit the octi.
Was thinking along the lines of dropping the radio to the lower position and fitting the LG using this.

I used to have no end of problems fitting mine and it often rattled or popped off unexpectantly.
I removed the clips and compressed them with pliers and I can get it on virtually first time every time now.
I might order some new clips from Skoda as spares and use new ones should I need to remove the trim in the future.
-
That does look good Mine is mounted in the vent too but now summer is approaching I am missing the vent a little. Saying that my aircon isn't giving 100% at the moment so when thats sorted I should be ok.

Should be able to get them from dealers. Part number 1U0 868 731

I have lowered mine about 20mm with fsd's and h&r springs and I find my car is less likely to strike the road as on the standard suspension seemed to bottom out far to easily for me.
The only time I have ever struck the road was on standard shocks and I was driving about 15mph below the limit on the road.

Urm  What exactly? Nothing there mate

End of the dash (Drivers side) you have to open the door to access it. Pop the end panel off and your in
Don't know what fuse to look for though, sorry.

Gary you lucky b£%&*#d!!!! I would so love to drive that car
I thought it gripped better too but assumed that it was in my mind maybe turning the wheel less to corner gives a mental illusion of enhanced traction or maybe it's just the extra feel of the front wheels and the confidence that inspires.
Who know's all I do know is this is possibly the best mod to date that I have done.
-
Well I have one on mine now fitted by Ross and Ali at U18 in less than 2 hours. Have only driven the 20 miles or so back from U18 but it definitely feels better than the old rack.
Steering is slightly heavier and gives more feel. Turn in is tight and as it should have been from the factory. Will give it a spirited run along some A roads soon to get a proper feel to it.

My car is on fixed servicing but I use Castrol Edge 5w 30 which is a long life oil for variable service schedules.
I use long life as I like the reassurance that my oil has plenty of life left when it's changed.
I always use Opie oils as being a briskoda member it is far cheaper buying it as a service pack than I could ever get on the high street.
I just recieved my service pack today actually. 5 litres Castrol Edge and a filter 42 quid delivered compared to about 65 quid from Halfords

My reciept is for 1J0 411 314 S

The problem people have had with the fsd and stock spring combination is that old and tired springs don't seem capable of controlling the shock absorber very well and causes bounciness as a result. I would recommend new springs whether standard or uprated if you are going to change the shocks. Will save the labour costs of doing it later. just my 2 cents worth.

:iagree:
We can all be cowardly and damage someones property in the dead of night but I prefer to have a word to express my displeasure rather than resort to that kind of thing, diplomacy normally does the trick. I wouldn't like it if someone did this to my car and would probably be baying for blood :thumbdwn:

I've ordered too but with a different code I got via email, same discount amount though
-
That is your N75 but I can't say I've ever heard mine click
It controls the turbo wastegate.
