  1. Nice! My Graphite Grey 2.0 TSI Sportline also came from Marshall. I also looked at the VRS, but no discount possible; however, I got £7k off the Sportline with 3 packs and free mudflaps.
  2. My 2011 Superb 1.8 TSI consumed 1L of oil between services which my dealer considered normal as most of my miles were on the very busy M3 and gridlocked M25. It didn't bother me as the car was totally flawless otherwise for 8yrs. I now have the Kodiaq MK2 Sportline 2.0 TSI and I'll keep eye on that, early days as only had it less than 4 weeks.
  3. I agree with you on the Macan, a friend had the 3.0L Turbo before his current Range Rover, which was been a lemon from day one.
  4. The Santa Fe looks hideous and performance is gutless too. Am I biased in saying that the Kodiaq MK2 is the best looking and best value medium SUV available?
  5. The huge hike in VED for a >£40k car is ridiculous IMHO. Even a Honda Civic with a few options ticked will exceed this threshold and that is NOT a "luxury" car by any standards in my book. I still think that the fairest way is to keep VED the same for all and just add a few pennies to the price of fuel. Then it's pay-as-you-drive and thirstier cars and high-milers then pay more, isn't that better?
  6. A colleague once had his 1.8 TSI remapped from 160 BHP to around 230 BHP in several stages. I remember that the car went like stink, but needed more regular oil changes and premium fuel. He said that his insurance went up from £600pa to £1100pa, which isn't as bad as I expected. Of course the remap was only done when warranty expired. The car was luckily a manual as the "weak" 7sp DSGs of 2011 wouldn't handle the huge torque increase. Are you a broker? If so what are the insurance price differences like these days? Thanks!
  7. In the UK you can report dangerous faults on new cars to the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency, does NL have similar? My neighbour who was rear-ended due to his AEB has done just that and they have asked Copart (main UK salvage company) for access to the vehicle to check ECU and diags. The good news so far is that he heard this morning that his 2 week old Kodiaq MK2 has just been written off. If evidence points to AEB causing this serious accident, the DVSA in the UK won't hesitate to kick up a stink with Skoda UK and demand immediate action. Of course, his replacement car will NOT be from VAG and I don't blame him. On top of that my neighbour also needs his dangerous driving conviction (due to AEB) case dismissed, which is where his insurance legal team get involved. Guys... Get legal cover with your insurance, it's worth every penny and really saved my arse about 15yrs ago (I avoided prison!) - long story, but there were two fatalities. As for a dashcam, I won't even drive a vehicle without one!
  8. Excuse my stupid question, but shouldn't this be covered under warranty if it can be replicated at the dealer? I'd be reluctant to start pulling things apart and stuffing things in to gaps.
  9. I wouldn't risk it as you'll likely void your warranty along with paying a lot more for insurance and perhaps VED if CO2 emissions increase it. I won't even think about ECU "dongles" that can restore your car to default in case of service or accident, as any technician or loss adjuster can see what you've been up to and invalidate any claim. The DSG may also need reconfiguring to account for the extra torque. I have the MK2 Sportline 2.0 TSI and it's not that slow once on the move compared to the VRS, I'm more than happy with the stock 201 BHP. IMHO it would've been more economical to buy the VRS in the first place ;-)
  10. @AshScout ... Sorry to hear of the issues you've been having. Frankly, I'd reject the car as soon as possible if I had similar issues. My car is perfect (for now), but I dread the emergency stop when I, or the driver behind, least expect it. I doubt it'll be something like a dashcam eating power as the USB-C port is turned off as soon as the car is. My previous car (2019 new shape RAV4 hybrid) was a nightmare as that weedy tiny 12v battery would be flat within 4 days of a long journey. Toyota couldn't find the fault even after replacing the 12v battery several times due to dying cells. This is why I went with the 2.0 TSI Kodiaq and not another hybrid.
  11. Hmmm... My USB stick plays from where I left it; however, mine is direct USB-C not USB-A with an adapter. All I did was drag my iTunes music folder from my Mac Mini direct to the stick. I might consider trying Spotify at some point via Android Auto.
  12. I think you're referring to the old MK1 Scout (no MK2 in UK... yet). I have the Sportline 2.0 TSI, thus: Mudflaps not standard, but the dealer kindly threw them in free as part of the deal. Underbody guard not standard on mine either; however, interior mats were standard. Mine doesn't have remote park assist and didn't want it anyway. I have the Convenience Plus Pack with: Canton Sound (it's great!), skinny spare wheel, electric/memory passenger seat, & virtual tailgate pedal. I don't have the variable boot floor as it's taken up with seats 6/7 and the spare wheel. I also have the Light Pack and Winter Pack. More or less fully loaded apart from panoramic roof (which I would never have again, due to leaks and cracks from hailstones). Specs appear to vary between countries (I'm UK), so head off to your local dealer and see what they say. I also recommend an extended unattended test drive if possible. I had a demo for 24hrs.
  13. I picked up my Sportline 2.0 TSI on 03JUL and had a similar error. On mine I had to press a button near the RHS roller switch on the steering wheel. All I had to do was change the setting from "Speed Limiter" to "ACC" and it worked. Of course, the dealer didn't have a clue ;-)
  14. Do you have a link to the official recall notice and what version is the latest "fixed" software? Thanks!
  15. I've asked my 2 local dealers and a respected VAG specialist. Sadly it can't be adjusted or disabled without voiding the warranty, service plan AND insurance. I hope that one day VAG will be forced to fix it before somebody dies.
  16. Sorry to hear this. Are you taking legal action against Skoda? Was the damaged repaired properly? Was anybody injured? How did the driver of the car behind react? A neighbour also got rear ended hard last week by a heavy van and it caused extensive damage, he's still waiting to hear if it's a write off as the rear airbags were deployed. This was after his Kodiaq stopped suddenly from 60mph after a large empty plastic bag floated in front of him in the wind. To add insult to injury, it was HIS fault not the van driver as dashcam evidence proved a dangerous sudden stop. He's now got lawyers involved to formally reject the car if it's repaired, fight his case against dangerous driving (unnecessary heavy braking) and he's already decided that his next car won't be from the VAG group and won't have front assist. His wife cancelled her Karoq order yesterday due to this incident. Thank heavens his kids and dog weren't in the back as there could've been a fatality, the 3rd row was really squashed. You wouldn't see the likes of Volvo installing something so dangerous, let alone unnecessary if one drives properly. The more I'm hearing about this, the more I'm tempted to also reject my Kodiaq mk2. I'm surprised that no independent reviewer has mentioned this as it appears to be a very common problem that needs urgent attention.
  17. Welcome! I'm still quite new myself. They're a good bunch here and you'll get lots of useful tips and info.
  18. VAG will struggle to cover themselves when (not if) somebody is killed by an involuntary emergency stop. I hate to think it's only a matter of time before the unthinkable happens to one of us. I'm one of those who believes that AI has no place in our lives and I'm not alone. I will decide how I drive and respond, not some poorly programmed computer and sensors! Before I get shot down... I've driven over 250,000 miles without a single claim. Diesel gate before, brakegate next?
  19. I have a front/rear dashcam needed as it'll be good evidence for if (when?) I'm whacked up the arse when my emergency braking ABS decides to activtate for no apparent reason. As
  20. "Driving Aids" are no substitute for poor driving. I already know of a neighbour who also owns a Kodiaq mk2 that was rear ended by a van when the emergency ABS braking kicked in at 60mph on an A-road to avoid an empty clear bin bag being blown in front of him by the wind (no need to brake hard at all!). It's ridiculous and downright dangerous. The van driver had a dashcam and in fact WON the claim! My neighbour had a front/rear dashcam and the van wasn't even that close, it either just takes longer for a heavy fully laden van to stop or the van driver was simply caught off guard for a nanosecond. If my neighbour had his dog in the back, it would've been killed and if his kids were in the 3rd row, they could've been hurt or at least severely traumatised. We should have the option to turn this highly dangerous "safety item" off, or at least reduce the sensitivity... PERMANENTLY. Yes, I also have a Kodiaq mk2 and I've already seen lots of false positives on mine. Even going along my residential road at just 15mph and negotiating parked cars often triggers the warning. I turn it off now on every drive... if I remember. I'm now beginning to regret my purchase, shame as the car is utter perfection otherwise. If anybody knows of a class action lawsuit or a successful rejection of the car, please let me know. IMHO I can see this getting quite messy.
  21. I'm tempted to pull them off, so I'll likely swap for the caps next week. I'm beginning to think they're better without. A cracking car tho!
  22. I signed the order form on 03JUN and picked the car up today, so it was just a 1 month wait for me. I got the Kodiaq Sportline 2.0 TSI 4x4 as I don't have anywhere to plug it in and need 4WD for camping and the roads near me are a little lumpy at best. The main reason for the quick delivery was that another dealer had one on build with the Light Pack, Convenience Pack and Winter Pack - my local dealer kindly snagged it for me ;-) A got a good deal as we started of with the "DriveTheDeal" price and got a few freebies added, like mudflaps and roof bars. Also 0% PCP over 2yrs ;-) Similar to mine, you're gonna love it!
  23. I only picked up my new car today, but a local dealer has offered to swap my wheel covers for hub/nut covers FOC. It's just that some other customers are after a spare set of wheel covers. I have 7 days to decide as not sure if I love or hate them yet ;-)
  24. After being a non-Skoda owner for 6 years, I decided to return and picked up this beauty today. I had a Superb estate from 2011 to 2019 and thought it was time to show some brand loyalty. I just got rid of the latest Toyota RAV4 hybrid after a 6 year nightmare with it.
