  1. Exactly the same thing happened to me... I was behind a Scooby who was behind a Skip lorry doing about 20mph... I had dipped lights on... Checked mirrors,, I was also far enough back to see clear road ahead.. Indicated, moved out half way past Scooby, he just pulls out with no indication at all... He admitted that he had not looked or even considered that anyone might be overtaking.... The damage on your car is far worse than mine was... So he must have hit you with some force... having said that my suspension was destroyed when i hit the kerb... Hope it gets written off... How old is it anyway? If under a year then you should be entitled to a brand new replacement... UK Insurance norm.. Dazz
  2. Hey ho... Its that time again... Brake pads low.. ( Light not on yet.. but was about to ) .... Front discs need replacing, as do rear brakes... I've been running standard disks with Pagid FR and have been happy ( except 4 the dust ).... I have put my 5000 mile set of EBC Greenstuff back in until I make a decision on the disk replacement. Pagid pad without sensor had started to crack from the metal backing... I'm generally happy with the performance of the brakes.. apart from the dreaded cold wet disc syndrome when I'm on the Mway... I have been considering ATE Powerdisc's + Pagid FR combo.. with standard rear setup replacement... What do you all think.. Any alternative suggestions, recommendations or bad experiences with Powerdiscs? cheers Dazz
  3. I think you will also require a plastic trim to go around the head unit as the Octy unit is smaller than the Fabia's... cheers Dazz
  4. Why the hell do you kill Spiders???? They kill all the insects in your home... Leave them alone as they are doing you a favour Or I shall visit U in the small hours with my Mate's Tarantula...... DO NOT KILL SPIDERS!!!!! Dazz
  5. Freddie Mecury is the best..... Charlotte Church is good at both pop/classical.. Sebastian Bach ( Showing my age now...!! ) From early 90's Metal outfit Skid Row... Gary Cherome formally of Extreme.... Christina Aguilera -- Has got the range but does'nt go overboard like Whitney or Mariah..... ta.. Dazz
  6. Well I used to have a Mexican Redknee Tarantula.. had it from a spiderling. My mate had 13 different species including this... Goliath Bird Eater Theraphosa blondi This tarantula is indigenous to the rain forest regions of northern South America. This true giant of the spider world is the largest species on earth. Adults have been known to exceed a quarter of a pound in weight with an 11-inch leg span. These animals readily flick painful urticating hairs, and when provoked will bite with their one inch long fangs! Stick you pinkys in with this at your peril!!!!! It could catch a large Live Cricket that you dropped into its tank before is hit the ground,, and the tank was around 2 foot in length........!!!! 7. Well... This was a couple of firsts for me and the wifee.. First time on a plane... and the first holiday abroad together... Prague was excellent, cheap beautiful lager... Pilsner Urquell and Starpramen.. etc... But the first real thing that is noticable is the amount of Skuds... new and old. old rear engined bangers new Octavia's and Superb's the Airport cars are mostly Fabia's as do the Policie.. They use Fabia Estates... The one thing that is noticeable is the higher specs of the newer Skoda's most Fabia vRS's have Xenons, as do Superbs and high spec Octys.. Also when I was there I passed a dealer in the city, went in to find lots of styling bits, headlight eyebrows, mirror covers, interior instrument, console trims, spoilers, grills, alloy's... etc... It a pity I did not have another suitcase.. Even through I doubt a WRC rear wing would make it through customs.... One thing about Prague is that it is CLEAN,, NO Litter anywhere, the Trams and Buses are allways clean inside and out... The downside.. the Czech food is not that nice...... Highly recommended... cheers Dazz
  8. Hi mate.. Another Stoke-on-Tip resident.... I'll look out 4 u.. cheers Dazz
  9. There is a couple of issues that need raising here... Incorrect use of road network moving haulage around the country. and the percentage of tax taken in fuel duty by the Govenment We have a rail network that with the correct use / funding could transport haulage over long distances, to hubs located at various locations around the country. Then the loads then are transferred to trucks for the 'local' deliveries. I suspect that most long distance drivers would not be happy about this but it would clear some of the congestion from the roads. Maybe the uneeded drivers could re-train onto the railways. The Govenment are raking it in at the moment as taking the AA's fuel report fiqures for the fuel price vs the % taken by tax then.. 2002 - the tax figure was around 57p against a per litre of 75p 2005 - the tax figure is around 61P against a per litre of 91p So for each increase in the overall cost of fuel then there is an increase in tax amount going to the Gov... Most of us in this country will complain bitterly to friends and family about a whole range of topics but will not actually stand up and be counted in any protests.. Or is it just I'm not bothered...??? Our transport system is pathetic in general. Also our Govenment waste billions on 3-4 big inquiries into each war / department mess up..... Waste ..... Dazz
  10. Anyone you know got a car/van with a towbar? If so you can hire a car transporter trailer... I did when I transported my old Scirocco from Scotland back to England a few years back.... cheers Dazz
  11. I did not find it very difficult when I rejected my Seat Leon.. That was started 3 months into ownership.. And would have been successfull until a thief took it... If the problems are as bad as this write letters to both the dealer principle and Skoda Customer services stating you wish to formally reject the car. Give them a time limit to respond or you will take further legal advice. If you want them to attempt a final repair then state this also state if you want a new replacement or a refund.. The new guidelines give you at least six months, as it assumes that any faults occuring during this period were there from manufacture. cheers Dazz
  12. WHO CARES!!!!!!! DROP A BOMB ON THE FAKE WANNABES!!!!!! Big Crap viewers.. 'Sitting in a house' watching people 'sitting in a house' DAZZ
  13. Well go and find my old quattro.. and I will... Oh I think it was last seen competing and winning road rallys.. Mind you it was'nt exactly standard.. TSR uprated cylinder head uprated suspension. I could keep my mates 230bhp S2 in sight in the twistys... And was on par with the non turbo 20V versions in acceleration.. You are seriously thinking that of the line fom standstill you will have the traction from the tyres? more than likely you will either have the TCS cutting engine power or not getting it of the line that quickly... In the quattro.. I could nearly red line it and dump the clutch.. without a blip of wheelspin.. I could also do this in the wet as well. Dazz
  14. Eddie Van Halen... Eruption!!!! Fantastic.... Dazz
  15. Thats a series 3 90 quattro( saloon ). It had the 2226cc KV 5 cylinder engine. With 136bhp It did 0-60 in around 9 seconds and topped out around 130mph.. There was also a 20V of both the 90 and Coupe.. 170bhp and 0-60 times around 7.8 seconds.. Big nose heavy lumps but they had a Torsen diff so only mild understeer.. cheers Dazz p.s. U.S versions were completely different.
  16. Where's..... Brian May? Nuno Bettencourt? Steve Vai? Incomplete POLL.... cheers Dazz
  17. Try Halfords... There range of Carrera bikes are ok for the price but to be honest, £200 will not get you much.. What type of riding do you do? What about a 'town' Mountain style bike? Have you looked for second hand? cheers Dazz
  18. Rover 216 .. Better engine than 214 + good fuel economy... Mondeo M or N reg.. Go for the 1.8 16V or the TD.. I would say a Scirocco GTX but the insurance is daft... I got well over 40MPG with them... Passat TD .. L or M reg.... cheers Dazz
  19. Me and SWMBO are off to Prague middle of next month... 9days... Flying for the first time... Can't believe my *** has never been of the ground... Maybe get over to Skoda factory/Musuem.. Maybe... Looking forward to it ... Yes damn right!!!! Dazz
  20. Pagid FR from GSF ... around
  21. I used them on various cars including my quattro's... For the money and performance they were very good, generally out handling and outlasting cheap nasty new tyres available from say Quik Con... cheers Dazz
