Tried this earlier and the battery light is coming on ok and I never started the engine. I did not get a chance to go and get the battery tested.

Thanks folks.....I'll try that and see. Tho the battery was changed withing the last approx 5k miles, maybe the recent cold snap of temps as low as -15 here have taken it's toll on the battery?.

Having a few little problems with the vRS(2006). 1. Driving along at random times my handbrake light comes on and a few beeps too 2. Power Steering light comes on and I loose the PAS until I stop and re-start 3. Engine managment light comes on(then maybe a few hours or a day later it goes off) 4. My headlights flicker while driving(usually on back bumpy roads, this only happens every so often - the interior lights on dash have a slight flicker too) 5. The alarm goes off too approx 3 out of 10 times I lock it, I can now predict when this will happen as the indicator lights don't seem to flash when I lock it and so the alarm sounds and using the key don't sort the problem either....I gotta stand in pure embarrassment pressing the buttons on the key fob until the things stops! and FINALLY(lol) My stereo goes off for 1 second every now and then too Is there a major problem or is it time to call the ghostbusters? lol Thanks in advance

I have another possible problem, I've finally got the wipers working but there is not even a noise coming from the water pump(like a 'humming' noise you would hear when empty) I have checked all the fuses that I can. Am I needing a new motor to pump the water? I'm running on what most people have in the washer bottle(blue concentrate from Halfords!)

I've sorted the problem twice in one day with the fuse 15!! I've stocked up on some as I suspect in the morning after a -12 here in N.Ireland I will be needing yet another fuse!!!

I assume I'd have to wait for temperature to back some somewhat normal? or the problem happens again??

Hi everyone, as above...... Just came from visiting a few friends, returned to my 2006 Fabia vRS to discover the front wipers won't work at all. The rear wiper is working as normal. I have also noticed when I try for screenwash the back wiper comes on too, but no water comes out(the water is full but frozen cause of the -6 temp) and I don't even hear the noise from the jets when I try for screenwash(the noise ya would hear better when the water is empty). Any ideas/help would be great..... Thanks in advance Kev

Yip, checked the rear passenger door and there was a little puddle. When you say you need to seal them, is that a matter of a new seal or pushing around the whole thing to make sure it ain't come loose? (excuse my dumbness if that's a silly question lol).

As title says, I've a real problem with steamy windows. That time of year again I suppose....tried 'Rain X Anti Fog' and in my opinion its rubbish, makes the problem worse. I find myself sitting for ages waiting for the front window to clear(I'm kinda fussy and hate these 'de-misting pads etc' ). Side window hardly clear at all, back window is usually no probs. Any ideas?
