That's awesome. I wish I had the time, money and patience to do it to that level. Last night I decided to put some brake fluid in mine. Got the master cylinder and bias valve bled then went to do the right rear and fluid started leaking from the left rear. I hadn't crimped it properly and it hadn't sealed. So I ended up cutting the end off the hard line and re-crimping it while brake fluid dripped out all over my hands and tools. Got it to seal and did the other side but now I can't get any fluid out of the rear left caliper so I think I may have managed to seal it completely somehow!! By this time it was 10pm and I was over it so will re-visit that one.

Man that think is ugly. I agree on BMW's 8 speed, it's excellent.

The centre and rear diff locks are vacuum operated, by a rotary knob. But there might be some sort of electronic actuator involved as well. Need to do some reading, I have some manuals that I've only scanned through. It's connected to a feed from the front of the car and an earth so it's not a sensor.

Bit of progress this weekend. Connected up the brake lines, torqued up the front driveshaft bolts, repaired and fitted the rear left driveshaft, broke off the corroded shielding on the ABS sensors, re-wrapped and re-fitted them, replaced a broken wire to the rear diff, not sure what it does (yet), looked at a few other things and pondered them I thought I'd better clean this out.. Yay, got this nut back on. I damaged it trying to get it out of the hub. And it's in Brake lines are all complete. No fluid in there yet. Ticked a few things off the list but I keep adding more. The damaged fuel line and the replacement I bought from Audi tradition. Not sure that's the right one I'm itching to clean it. Need to wait until Final Touch Wellington to do it properly.

When I first heard about this I felt sort of numb. Another attack back in my homeland... Now it has sunk in I'm so f_ing angry. Targeting kids ffs. An eight year-old girl is dead. And 21 others. They were pulling nails out of people. Children. What is this supposed to achieve? What do you have to do to a man to make him do something like this? And he was British. All rooted in arguments about whose thousands of years old storybook has the best sky fairy.

We have back brakes! The lines seem a bit tight but they're slightly longer than the originals. Flexis are just test fitted for now.

Sunset at Makara Beach, Wellington Sunday morning dog walk - my house is somewhere behind the hill in the centre.

Got home to more presents. A box from Audi Tradition.

Brand new stainless steel brake dust shields for the rear, from Quattro Corner. The quality is excellent. Bit better than these:

It's very like an MX-5, bit harder ride but excellent to drive. The steering is sublime, it seems to rotate rather than steer. Opposite lock will definitely be in my near future. Road trip tomorrow to take photos and enjoy it

It is. Abarth 124 Spider.

I have this for the weekend. Makes me laugh out loud when driving, it's fun!

Took the brake dust shields off the GT rear beam. I was hoping to use them but they're quite different. So I ordered a pair of new ones manufactured by Quattro Corner in the UK. I also finally gave in and ordered a few things from Audi Tradition. Waiting for the call to pay duty on that stuff. These look more like it! Thanks to speed.co.nz for getting them to me super quickly.

Rear subframe and struts are in.

Excitement...followed by disappointment. I bought the wrong brake pads. Fail.

Latest Project Rusty catchup http://drivelife.co.nz/2017/04/project-rusty-robs-audi-ur-quattro-part-25-more-suspension-and-brakes/ I have an Audi S4 this week. Swapping it tomorrow for a Q2. -
Yep! So many more jobs to do. Cleaning stuff, for a start. And torquing up bolts, and adding fluids, and removing the bumpers to add some missing seals and clips, etc etc.

Yay!
