New (and different) Tyre/wheel question
adray-m replied to Wet Kipper's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
lol I used to own a 405 D Turbo and one day I decided to give the wheels a refurb so me and my mate jacked the car up and put it on axle stands and made sure it was completely safe before taking the jacks away... we had both front wheels off at once... then we walked away I was carrying a wheel and so was he... next minute I hear a slow scrapping noise then a sort of shudder so I quickly turned road and threw the alloy I was holding under the car just as the car slipped off the jack and luckily the jack slipped off onto the sill lol... turns out the jacking point had rusted a wee bit and crumbled lol so safer to do one wheel at a time and keep the car on the ground with using a spare rather than risking it lol -
horn chirp... not really a beep...

Well as some of you know I picked the new car up yesterday from Birmingham... after a long drive home I was decided I wanted to get it on the rollers... SO.... got up this morning phoned jim at Star and had the car on the rollers for half 10 this morning... and the results 227BHP notice the high loss in power between the wheels and the engine... think a slip diff maybe needed lol ohhh yeah forgot to say... to those who don't know this is Matt - FabiaTDI's old car... I bought it and fair to say i am verry pleased with my purchase Adrian
