  1. You could turn this around really and ask why Skoda don't do a more powerful and/or 4wd vRS. I think a vRS with a choice of engine options and a choice of either 2 or 4 wheel drive would go down well amongst Skoda buyers. I'd personally like to see the 180bhp 1.4 engine in the Octy as well as a 250bhp engine of sorts or a 4x4 V6 or something.

  2. Ok I know you can activate Scandanavian DRL's and the other one (name escapes me) but can you activate the front fog lights to run as DRL's on a MkII MY08 Octavia? I believe you can as I've seen someone with a MkII Octy Sport with them activated. The only thing is he had his sidelights on when I saw him and I totally forgot to ask. I even believe from what I once saw written that you could adjust the brightness at which they run.

So who can confirm or deny all this??

  3. Does anyone else know an alternative to petrolprices.com because it strikes me it's f-ing useless? I want to know the price of the Shell garage near to me but it just throws up loads of other filling stations not all that near by. I only want to fuel my car with Shell V-Power, so I only want to know the price of that, I couldn't give a hoot about how much Esso sell their high octane fuel. Anyway, back to the question, rant over.

  4. Just to confirm have you been using Wonder Wheels or Wonder Wheels "U" (Universal)? If so the "U" should be fine. I some experience of using it but didn't find it that good at shifting baked on grime. Daisy All Purpose Cleaner from Tesco is pretty good as an APC and it only costs about a quid lol. You'll need a spray bottle and a dillution rate to suit.

  5. I like mine, and I like the look. I first saw them on a Merc a few years ago and thought "ooo clever" :giggle: They're nowhere near as good as the adaptive lights which move when cornering and if, like me, you have Xenons, you'll have a job actually spotting the extra light - but it is there and it helps me a little when negotiating the super tight and dark tunnel I park my car in.

On the reversing side of things mine do not illuminate at all when going backwards.

They are activated at low speed by turning the steering wheel or by indicating (useful for roundabouts this as you are mainly turning the opposite way you want to steer whilst going round of course)
