  1. Hi At the moment I am still awaiting the deposit cheque back which seems to be proving challenging for them - I have explained my urgency to acquire a vehicle as soon as possible due to health problems and without this cheque I cannot begin another search. Honestly don't see why I could not just have the £500 cash back which I had paid them? Dave
  2. At this moment in time I just want the deposit cheque back - I NEED to find a vehicle and find one very very quickly...........and without the deposit money back I cannot begin to do that - why could I not have it back in cash as I had paid it ? The anoying thing is I want and NEED a vehicle asap - its not just a case of changing my mind with regards to the vehicle - still looking at Skoda dealers stock countrywide at the moment - hard to find KESSY, ELECTRIC TAILGATE etc on a dealer stock car. Dave
  3. I am only repeating what I have been told by the dealer. That's why I find the whole scenario rather shocking to be honest.................and a little confusing ?? DAVE
  4. Hi It wasn't just the fact that they could not get the colour - even if I would have chosen another colour the whole order process starts again and that would have made the wait until the end of the year or the beginning of next year - too long in my opinion. Dave
  5. Hi I saw in one of this weeks car magazines that Skoda are doing some ltd edition Octavias with a dab radio fitted - so it looks like they are gearing up to be fitted to all new cars - maybe at the April launch of the new Superb next year? Dave
  6. My current car (INSIGNIA) does this and I have no clue how you switch it on/off. I thought it would be a subscription based service that the previous owner had paid for but it has been working for over 12 months now. It works even when not navigating. Dave
  7. Hi Steve I still maintain that somebody could have alerted me sooner than seven weeks to tell me that colour was not available - and also the extra delay in delivery - I was promised (rightly or wrongly) delivery by October - it was written down on the order form as it was so important to me. Stock has been checked and no cars with KESSY and ELECTRIC TAILGATE and PARK ASSIST are in the system - there was a few other extras I could forego but these are the essentials as my mobility is becoming severely restricted. I hasten to add that the dealer I placed the order with did not check the Skoda Stock for me - I had to get somebody else to do that - if that seems a little confusing then believe me I am a bit confused as well (!) Something was amiss in the way that this has been handled - not too sure whether its Skoda UK or the dealer at the moment - but there's something that is just not right. Deposit cheque should be here tomorrow. Dave
  8. Hi Yep nothing near to replace it with............ Order cancelled - I asked yesterday if I could go and collect my deposit money this morning (I paid it in cash) and was told no. I was given the option of a cheque or bank transfer - so hopefully that will be here in the next day or two - I don't understand why if I paid cash I cannot have it back in cash - but never mind. A complete waste of nearly seven weeks. The sad part about this whole saga is that I will probably be left without a vehicle now because of this - I am getting to the point (because of illness) where I am unable to drive the manual car I currently have.............. Dave
  9. Hi I saw the steel grey on here - but when saw it in showroom I did not like it - I have a black car at the moment so wanted a change - and nothing else grabbed my eye to be honest - even after another look at colours nothing is jumping out at me. As I am spending 24 thousand pounds on a car I want it in a colour that I like - the irony of all this is that I am colour blind - but I can still see colours - I just don't know what the colour is - and the storm blue really caught my eye. It may not be a lot of money to some people - but to me its a small fortune..................... I did not know about the changes to the pillars inside the car either - this had not been explained by the dealer. Why do Skoda (or the dealers) think that these changes are inconsequential? At the moment I am a bit bemused by what has happened - it leaves me in a right mess as I am really struggling driving a manual car and I thought I would only have to struggle on for a few more weeks - but now I am back to square one. Been searching since 8am this morning for a suitable alternative to no avail - just a waste of 7 weeks of my time really - with the knock on effect of possibly leaving me without a vehicle to drive very soon. Dave
  10. As you say its really annoying.........It does not seem to be the dealers fault. I knew something was amiss as when I placed the order he said we should have a build date by end of August - then we went into September - and here we are with this information. I have seen a couple of "nearly new" - but they were £3000 more than the new vehicles - and I have added a few essential extras - gone for petrol automatic as wont be doing many miles - and added keyless entry and start, electronic boot opening (both essential as I have Fibromyalgia ) - along with heated wind screen and washers, spare wheel and park assist. Honestly don't know what to do as I would not have a "plan b" as to what other vehicle to possibly look at - it was an elegance estate. Dave
  11. Hi I ordered a Superb Elegance in July in Storm Blue - its taken Skoda nearly 7 weeks to now inform my dealer that Storm Blue is no longer available as a colour option. To be honest I don't fancy any other colour - I am going to go to the dealers tomorrow to see some other colours in the flesh so to speak. But at this moment nothing is grabbing me. I assume there would be no problem cancelling the order and obtaining a deposit refund as they cannot supply me with the car that I wanted. Will have to sleep on this one as I really do want one - but there is no point in parting with nearly 24 grand and settling for second best on the colour - also I assume that my wait will begin again if I choose another colour - which would put me at the end of the year or early next year - just too long to wait. Dave
  12. Hi Thank you for the explanantion re-quotas - but surely the dealer would know when he took my order that he had used up all his July slots - and therefore my car would not be passed on until an August slot - therefore making an October delivery highly unlikely? Bearing in mind the factory shutdown in August I was told about as well..............these stories of 11 month waits are beginning to worry me. Dave
  13. Just another thought........... My car was valued with a part ex price back in July - what if order keeps getting pushed back and back - will this value stand - or will it be re-appraised? Finance and Deposit(0%) was all based on trade in value. I looked at that thread re-quotas - does it mean that dealers are only allowed to order a certain number of new vehicles every month - if that is the case then surely they knew they were at their quota when they took my order? Or have I completely mis-understood? Dave
  14. Hi Ordered new Superb Elegance Estate end of July. Was given October delivery date - no exact date just the month wrote on the order form. Had telephone call from dealer today stating that my car has no build date yet and its looking unlikely to be an October delivery now and could be pushed back. The reason he stated is that they had exceeded (the dealership) their orders last month and this has a knock on effect - can anybody expand on this? I had to rush off the telephone as I was working and did not understand it? Also - as my order form has October delivery date wrote on it - can I cancel the car if it is not delivered on time (I really do not want to do this but I Ieave the country in November for a few weeks and would want it all signed and sealed before then so my partner can use the vehicle) Finally at what point do I have to give the personalised number plate retention document to the dealership - I have just sent re-newal to dvla as it expires on 9th September - so hopefully should be back with me soon. Thank for any help you can offer me.............. Dave
  15. Have to agree its "sale of goods act" time - bit doesn't this only to apply to the person that bought it originally? I may be wrong on this one.............. Dave
  16. Whats flake pop ? Also just looking at my order form and I have no order no anywhere on it at all......should there be one ? Just in case I need to contact Skoda UK for info etc? My delivery time is October. Dave
  17. The reason I asked is that its becoming a bit like DFS sale - ie it never ends............so in my view the vat free price then becomes the book rrp price if you see what I mean. There must still be room for a haggle even thought they are saying its vat free - and before anybody points it out - I am well aware that dealers will read this forum.................. Dave
  18. The Insignia really drinks the juice........the onboard computer is showing 17mpg after having used half a tank and 130 miles covered - so the Superb should be a massive improvement - for me! Dave
  19. Thank you for the info. Does anybody know anymore about this factory shut down? Does it really shut down completely for 2 weeks? Seems a bit strange in this day and age............ Dave
  20. Just ordered a new Superb Estate - 2 dealers told me definately no facelift next year - and would probably be 2015......have I been given sales patter? Dave
  21. Well I managed to secure a deal - as well as the vat got approx another £1000 off in incentives - also the 2 years interest free. Dave
  22. I have the SGS 2 - STILL ON 2.3.3 - Not done the ICS update because of this issue with RSAP. Does the columbus display show the same as the phone screen when listening to tunein app? I have also just bought a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 - so not too sure what I can do with that......probably the same as the phone? Dave
