  1. Is there any evidence of the artificial run in done on the engines and does this apply only to the vRS or all tsi engines??? I ask because my 1.2 tsi 85 should be here in a week or so. :-)
  2. Should the dealer provide you with the oil, bulb gift set for every car or did you pay more for it? I'm picking my 1.2 tsi up in 2 weeks ish
  3. 42 mpg in the yeti is very good. I hope your oil use reduces though. Dealer said I should have the car in approx ten days. Can't wait now lol.
  4. Thank you for that black. The wife still doesn't believe a 1.2 is enough for our estate as it is used as our family car. She has a ridiculously slow 60 hp 1.3 fiesta and I guess she thinks 1.2 is less than her 1.3. I have explained about more power and lots more torque than her car but she doesn't believe me. She'll come around though once she drives it... Hopefully :-)
  5. Do you have to call your dealer for that info or can you track it with your order number? Mine too was built week 35 so hope mine is on it's way too.
  6. WE do live in a relatively flat town and my commute is only 9 miles each way. I initially chose the tdi 80 cos the alternative was the htp 70... And though the petrol would have been cheaper to run, I wanted something that would shift as required (the diesel certainly does that). Now the petrol choice looks much more positive than the diesel on a cost front so it makes sense for usto go for the tsi over the tdi. Trouble is I easily achieve 60+ mpg but the wife drives differently and only manages low 50's. She's more of a boy racer than me lol. I just like the occasional boot every now and then to put a smile on my face.
  7. Thank you for the photo Mike. My wife is fretting about how much more a month we will be spending on fuel but hopefully she will rest easier after seeing your evidence. Can't wait now, should be about 2 weeks I hope...
  8. The thread wasn't really to compare petrol vs diesel as my order has already been placed. I was just looking for the experiences of current tsi owners so I know what to expect. I'm sure the diesel would achieve about 10 mpg more but I can accept the lower fuel economy figures due to the huge difference in list price. I am hoping that once run in the tsi will return appox 50 mpg but welcome any owners te comment on their mpg findings. :-)
  9. Do all fabias come with a media port or is it co option?
  10. My order is already placed so I will be driving the tsi 85. I drove the tdi 90 and hoped for the pd boot up the backside but it wasn't there... And it is still soooo much noisier than the tsi. I expected the cr engine to be quieter than it was. Tsi was silent and a welcome change for my ears after a pd 80. Still can't square the 1400 quid difference between tsi 85 and tdi 90. A lot of money to recoup just on fuel (cos camchain cancels out the extra car tax cost) and my insurance quotes were a good 70 quid a year less for the tsi too.
  11. Thank you black for putting my mind at ease a fair bit. At first I thought you meant a speedo indicated 70 and was disappointed with your returns. I understood properly of the second read lol. The 1.4tdi usually returns 61 ish on 40 mile motorway runs at indicated 70. Don't suppose you have done a run at indicated 70 in your tsi to compare???
  12. There was me hoping it would be a simple software update lol. :-)
  13. Thank you for your input javerhammer. I'd be cheddar'd if I could achieve similar figures to you. Fingers crossed lol.
  14. Would the cylinder shut off thing be a manufacture process or something that could be updated during a service? I'd imagine it wouldn't be something that can be retro fitted.
  15. Would you describe yourself as having a "relaxed" driving style or do you hurry about???. Also is that mostly town driving or mixed etc? Thank you.
  16. I knew from The test drive that the 85 would suffice but obviously there is no way to judge a cars economy from a ten Mile or so drive. Especially as the car only had 14 miles on the clock when I took it out. It seems I may be driving like a granny now to save fuel lol.
  17. Thank you for clearing that up. 44 sounds much better than 35. There don't seem to be many going for the tsi 85. I'm one of the stingy ones win wouldn't pay the extra for the 105 lol.
  18. I am sorry to ask but by rural do you mean countryside (I.e hilly areas) or general town driving. I know my fuel economy won't be as good as in a diesel but I hoped to see an average around 48-50 ish. In 3 years of only covered 21500 miles so I couldn't justify spending a grand more on the tdi 90. Plus if we keep the car there is no cambelt change which covers the cost of the extra road tax for the tsi.
  19. My dealer has informed me that my new car is being built and should be driving it in 2 or 3 weeks, so the time to return my current 1.4tdi 80 is almost here. My current car averaged 60-61 mpg and has never needed a top up of oil over the 3 years I have owned it. The question I ask to tsi 86 owners is what sort of fuel economy are you currently getting and has it drank much oil?
  20. A quick question, can I track the whereabouts of my car with the order confirmation number my dealer gave me? It's due to be built some point this week but wondered if there was a tracking system similar to a dhl parcel or royal mail where it tells you it's on the van etc.
  21. THank you Mike but that was the link for the head to head between fabias, not the ibiza tsi vs fabia tdi and jazz hybrid. I will try to search ae site to find it.:-)
  22. T81 can you remember appox when that test was done so I can try to find it on their group test section on their site...
  23. Was there any suggestion on how to stop the a/c pipe vibrating?
