I have been having intermittent bother with my 19 tdi, When I turn the ignition key nothing happens the lights all come on but the car won`t start! there are no clicks or noises and it seems to be getting more frequent. Has anyone got any ideas what this could be?

Hi I think I just blew the turbo on my 02 19TDI octavia, theres oil all over the belt etc,but its not lost very much on the dipstick. There is no smoke when running and no strange noises,just lack of power. I have been having bother with the turbo sticking,but usually fixed with a restart. Is there any other reason for the oil loss,seals etc? and is it ok to drive? Many thanks in advance.

If the red flashing thermometer is in the middle of the gauges, and it beebs three times,it`s definitely the car trying to tell you" it has been...is" Baltic outside .

I think thats just to warn you that that the outside temp is near freezing.

If you can find one thats not been taxid i can recommend the 19TDI elegance. I regularly get 60 mpg with a 52 plate on a run with the tyres at 34psi! Its never going to be a vrs but its quick enough for me cheap to tax and insure as well Good luck.

Doubt it,it probably needs a new linkage. Not a difficult job to do though.

I had great results with Shout. got it in tescos and its cheap as chips.

I used to drive like that untill i learned that coasting uses more fuel as the engine is actually ticking over. If you leave it in gear going down a hill or approaching a junction etc it doesent use any fuel

Just use the stuff thats sold for leather suites etc, i got mine at the local market.

The Black wow really works. My mates Golf GTi spoilers were almost white :eek: A month on and their still black as 3 o`clock in the morning At the end of the day,if you get new ones their still going to gray out anyway.

I just did mine and it looked like it had never been replaced. Its an 02 elegance. On a side note i got this air con cleaner from Brown Bros its an aerosol you set off in the rear footwell with the Ac on full and hey presto 10 mins later the whole systems been cleaned. Smells like a brand new car and only cost a tenner.

Ok,so i have started using my armrest, as an armrest, of all things. I was thinking it would be nicer covered in leather but cant seem to get the fabric off easily. Is there a knack to this as i dont want to bugger it up?. Its an octi 19 tdi 02 elegance.

Gday to you all. Just fitted rear speakers in my 02 19tdi Elegance and noticed that the standard head turns the volume down all by itself :confused: Is this some sort of safety catch? Can it be got round? Or is my car haunted? :eek: Thanks in advance for any info on this perplexing prob. ps. not sure if i posted this in the right place:O
