  1. Have you had the bushes done? I’m not saying with and certainty, but I did mine to find that they let go and began turning in the bush console housing. The car rode lower on that side and pulled a left a lot. I had noises too so the when they turned I think the suspension arm was able to move up more and hit things.
  2. Hi All, might be of help to someone. I replaced what I thought was a noisy alternator, but turned out that it was the aux belt tensioner pulley that actually needed replacing. Before and after video here, so you can hear what a faulty tensioner sounds like. Vid: cheers
  3. Hi, I had no idea that there was any alignment possible on the rear subframe/rear axles?
  4. Caster alignment I've been suffering a pull you the left (curb) for a few years now. Threw a lot of money at the issue to no avail. shocks/spring all round top bearings droplinks Track rod ends front suspension arms bottom ball joints Front bushes (revised ones) new tyres tracked at kwik fit 3 times. nothing worked. And they told me the only adjustment was toe. The issue was the caster; caster not positive enough on the left. This thread has been a lifesaver as I think I've now sorted it. I know that I needed to move the bottom console further forward on the left to make it more positive (I guess to match the other side, I don't have access to fiddle with a hunter alignment machine) I put the car front on stands, undone the four bolts as shown in the vid, (I just show one side in vid) (you will need a breaker bar for the top bolts) and then the subframe+consoles twist as one complete thing so the left is as forward as poss and right is back as poss. See video. my car finally has stopped pulling left. thank you all. Hunter printouts are both before. if I get one done soon. I will add that as an after result.
  5. May be useful for anyone with a wing mirror vibration/rattle Or anyone trying to replace wing mirror glass.
  6. Hi Admin, please delete this thread/post. Thank you kind regards, G
  7. Hi all, fabia 3 1.4 tdi sel would really appreciate any comments on this noise. Anyone had this, what's the fix? Clutch? Gearbox? it does it 40% of the time. (Typical.. at a garage it didn't make itself heard.) It needs good speakers or headphones to hear it. It's like a knocking (at first it sounds like engine noise but not) video: cheers
  8. Hi Briskoda I gave put this video together to explain how the door lock cylinder is released. I'd wasted a lot of hours, hopefully it will be useful. https://youtu.be/3ZBQ4A5hOBs?si=Z1qBLzBuUS8ZoPk-
  9. Hi Tech1e, "You do need to hold the handle out as per the guide on here." I have found that not to be true, the handle must be out. here is a video I just made on stuck lock cylinder housing. cheers
  10. Hi All, I'm not sure what this function, (what I imagine is a feature that someone thought might be convenience but I find is just annoyance) but perhaps some could name it. When take off you lift the clutch pedal (with no touching of the accelerator) it automatically adds more accelerator for you. It tends to catch me out, making me add too much accelerator. What is that called? and is there a way to disable? (I have OBDeleven pro+sub if needed) (other diesel cars I have not had this, so it is either a feature or an issue) Thanks G
  11. Hi Briskoda characters, I own a 2015 fabia mk3 1.4 SEL, as about a month ago. I have just started to notice a wind rushing noise when driving over 25-30mph sounding like it's coming from the driver's door (right door). I tried pulling the door more closed but no difference. I make sure all windows are closed, but it sounds like one is open (when as far as I can tell, it's not). I tried to adjust the door catch (the bare metal two spine bolts) to see if I could make a change to that to see if any diff, but still same noise. no such noise from the passenger side. Anyone had this? any ideas? is this just the character of the car?
  12. I have just done this. See details in video description. Very pleased!
  13. Update, finally with the slightly warmer weather I have put in the new starter motor I bought a while back. Noise now gone, thank goodness. Thanks all. G
