  1. Over the past 2 months or so my idle has been getting rougher and rougher (cold or warm) there seems to be a slight "wobble " to it, more so than previously. Last week I was on my way back from a driving holiday in France (1400 miles round trip) with prolonged 130 KMH driving when I pulled up at a toll booth the car suddenly started to run on 3 cylinders and sounded like it was going to die. I revved it a few times and it appeared to be OK again and has not repeated this since. My first thought was perhaps some crap in the fuel. Other than the rough idle and occasional surge when getting on the throttle at speed the car is running pretty well. Could this be a symptom of a coil pack? There is no misfire under load. I had the plugs changed (bosch ) a few months ago so I doubt that its them unless a faulty batch.... Any ideas?
  2. Doesnt the DMF rattle on these when starting?. Mine appears to and has done for over 2 years now.
  3. Funnily enough I've had the same thought recently. I already have a pipercross panel in my tfsi. Its been in a couple of years but never been cleaned. I was thinking of going back to OE and selling the pipercross as I dont think its made any difference to noise or perfromance.
  4. by the time I put postage on from the isle of Wight it would probably work out cheaper getting it from skoda tbh.
  5. The reason for me wanting to change mine is purely for the fact that I'm still on my original and I know that they have a tendency to leak. So for 30 quid it would seem to be worth replacing.
  6. Cheers. They are pretty cheap too. (helps that I work in a Seat dealers selling parts!)
  7. Would this be the correct part number for the REV G diverter valve -> 06F 145 710G
  8. Could anyone tell me when the Revision D was fitted as standard? I have an early 2008 car and was thinking of going rev D but Im not sure what is currently fitted? Dan
  9. Thanks all. Liking that a lot. Looks Appreciate the help.
  10. Hi, Im after a small favour. I have enclosed a pic of my car which Im thinking of having the wheels refurbed and changed to anthracite. Id be extremely greatful if someone could photoshop them to Anthracite for me please so I can see how they would look. Thank you. Dan
  11. Does it make any difference to the intake sound if you remove the plastic part of the intake that connects to the engine cover and the slam panel? Any down sides apart from maybe warmer air to the filter? Sent from my galaxy S2 using Tapatalk 2
  12. UPDATE. After putting up with the noise for all this time (and the osf door making the same noise over the last few months) it looks like I may have cured it. I've lubricated all of the door and aperture seals with rubber grease (we had some specific bmw grease at work which is normally 25 quid for a small tub!) the noise is now 90% gone. Anyone having trouble locating odd noises should definitely try this. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  13. Forgot to mention above, I have read a few posts of people using 5W40 to reduce oil consumption on the TFSI engine.
  14. Interesting. I thought that 5W40 was for standard annual service regime and 5W30 was for extended. What spec is the 5W40? Is it still VW504/507 or is it VW502? Also what sort of price is the oil and the plugs? ( Im' interested as I work for a Motor factors) I wonder if the colder plugs are to improve cold start???
  15. That air filter is HUGE! Bet that makes some noise,.
  16. Its good to see that dealers are still honouring this after all this time. My local dealers was a pain in the ass last year when I wanted mine done, I ended up getting Skoda UK involved!
  17. Try Meadens mate. Worth a phone call at least. If they can pop it in the post then your only looking at a few quid. FWIW my local dealer are useless too.
  18. rayvrs - thats interesting. So no more stutters first thing in the morning? Was the car under warranty?
  19. They should be able to get you a printout of what was done! My car had history going back to 2008 (with Sparshatts) and Meadens had no problem getting it for me.
  20. I too had a Civic 2.2icdti (back in 2008 when the car was 2 years old) The suspension used to knock all the time, it kept going back for recalls. New shocks all round, new front bump stops, new clutch master cylinder due to leak, new pedal box, new oil pressure sensor etc etc. That was on a 2 year old car with 24k miles. I replaced it with a 6 year old mk1 Octy VRS which was far more dependable. In 3 years of ownership it needed a couple of sensors and wiper linkages (seizing up). I now own a MK2 VRS (owned for about 7/8 months now) Not sure if the build quality is any better than my old MK1 TBH, though its a far more modern car, Next year Im going to be taking out a Warranty Direct warranty as items such as DMF, ABS/ESP system and A/C compressor are prone to failure and fookin expensive!
  21. Certainly is. When I bought my car from Meadens they printed off the history for me (which was from another dealer)
