It was a very fast car so i believe. He had the wrong setup on his brakes and lost it on a corner then spun out into a pile of tyres. Hes not to bothered by it .Say's hell be back up and running for another go in November.

I'm 42. Always had family cars. ie first car was a 7 seater Montego estate. Kids are driving themselves now so got rid of the Picasso and got my self Skoda'd. Now got a big grin:D

If Ross tech where that bothered by illegal copies of of their equipment they would take legal proceedings against the people selling them. I used TomTom also but now got a Columbus. I find the maps are better and it takes me better routes than the TomTom did. Just as easy to use as a TomTom but with more features.

Strange thing i noticed was his address is in Manchester but the Columbus came with a Hull postmark which unnerved me a little. He's also got a shop in Blackburn.

Got mine from this guy and it was faulty. The Hard drive wouldn't show up when the media button was pressed nor did the sd card. Sent it back and got a replacement unit that worked fine. He was a little slow though and didn't reply to any of my emails - which made me think i'd been ripped off but he came through in the end.Also upgraded firmware no probs on the unit he returned to me. Got reversing sensor fitted as a freebie from dealers but don't come up on unit. could be a coding problem though.

I think climate did show up on my Bolero.Just want the bloody code so i can sell it . Got to pay £30 to dealers to get something that i own . Sent an email to Skoda and was more or less told thats how it is . Stops people nicking them. Don't see why i should have to pay though.

Could anybody tell me if there is a guide for the coding of the columbus . I've found one for the mfd2 could i use this? Can any one give me some idea of what i have to do? I've got access to vcds tomorrow so i need to know what to do.Many thanks in advance.

How do i find the code for my Bolero radio unit?

It wasnt on the replacement unit before i upgraded the firmware so i think it i just a matter of coding it.

I had a unit off ebay that was fitted by my dealer and the maxidot etc worked ok with the arrows etc showing. The unit wasn't working right though. The maps wouldn't copy to the hdd so i sent it back and put my Bolero back in. This showed up on the maxidot. Received a replacement Columbus fitted it and upgraded firmware and loaded new maps everything ok .Only thing is not showing in Maxidot. What do i do now? Do i have to code the columbus as if it were a new installed unit. I thought the existing data would cover it. Iv'e now got access to Vagcom so what do i need to do? Help i'm ready for ripping it out putting the Bolero back in and buying a TomTom.:eek:

Just upgraded and worked fine. Was shaking like a ****ting dog though-especially when it rebooted throughout the process. Used Maxwell dvd-r burnt with image burn.Thank god it worked ! Just need to get it coded to Maxidot tomorrow yippeeeeee. Any body interested in a Bolero?

Already tried that and nothing happens.also tried turning on with no key in ignition and holding setup for 15 seconds. Again nowt happens. Starting to feel iv'e been ripped off by the eBay seller. Thanks for your reply.

Just had a columbus unit fitted in my VRS se. Got the unit off ebay. When i put the nav disc in should it copy to the hdd? If it should it doesn't. when i put a mp3 disc in or a sd card it just sits on a screen saying system starting, but the music plays. Me thinks there is a fault somewhere .Any help would be great.
