  4. At the moment I have a fabia 1.4 vrs. I love it but its just had a full engine replacement under warranty at just shy of 14000 miles so I'm falling out of love with it. I have had an octy vrs ltd edition in the past and was really impressed with it but I was skint so had to sell it. I am now considering buying a 11 plate superb 170 cr dsg estate. Its elegance spec so its got all the toys. Would I get better mpg than with the fabia and is it comparable with the octy vrs I previously owned. At the moment im lucky to get 300 miles to a full tank of petrol with the fabia. Previous to the fabia I had a peugeot 407 sw gt but cant remember the mpg etc due to it being a french plie of merd. So peeps confince me and the wife superb is the way to go (she wants to go octy 1.6 but dosnt even drive!).cheers
  5. Just took mine in and waiting for the engine swap.Done 13500 and its a cave and was using a litre every 1000 miles and has done so from new.Had issues with the epc and engine management lights coming on and the car vibrating badly. They said the plugs where fouled up with oil deposits. Was told its getting a full engine and not just the bottom end. never thrashed it . Can't wait to get it back don't like the rapid they've given me. I will keep the car probably till march the trade it in for a superb or octavia vrs. Love the car but wont miss the engine faults
  6. 46 years young. Fabia vrs pay £420 insurance . Business use protected no claims all the bells and whistles. Was paying £700 for my 407 2.2 sw with no extras. Daughters 23 just got her fabia vrs 13 plate costs £450 for her and her partner.
  7. BMW and Golf driver's tend to try and push me out of the way . Also had a couple of mini coopers and Audi A4 knobs.
  8. they lied ! got 450 miles on mine and currently on my second tank of petrol. Iv'e gone from a pug 407 2,2 hdi 170gt and tried to kid myself id get the same mpg. if i drive like an old maid i get fairly good mpg. when the horns come out though i can see the fuel gauge move as well but its good fun isn't it!

  11. Google Imgburn works for everything i do and its free
  12. could be the discs you are using. Try a different brand. I think i used Memorex cd's form Lidl.
  13. read this post it might help you. http://www.mk5golfgt...p?topic=23779.0 check here for latest firmware and maps http://gpsunderground.com/forum/volkswagen-seat-skoda/7762-firmware-rns-510-sw-3930-3936-3938-3934-a.html#post57470
  14. Try here http://www.my-gti.co...-2764-2766-2768 this is where I used to get my updates from. The firmware should be burnt to a cd not a dvd.Burn using Imgburn at the lowest speed you can. The secret menu has to be coded by vcds to be able to acess it. Using VCDS/VAGCOM open the 37 – Navigation and adaption channel 50, enter 1 into the value field and save. Power on unit and hold the setup button for around 15 seconds when the Skoda logo appears on the screen. If i recall if you try to eject the map DVD before it is loaded it tells you that it hasnt finished.
  15. Didn't know that the new rack was a refurb from a older fabia . The people who we got the rack from said the sensor would work and that all racks where the same. Wrote them a nice email explaining that they were wrong.Don't think the search goes that far back. Belive me when i say i did a lot of searching regarding the matter!
  16. Update on the situation. Got a sensor with the wiring attached fitted it and it works. It seems that there is indeed 2 types of steering racks which each take different sensors. Be aware if you by a recon rack it may not match your original sensor!
  17. My Daughters boyfriend has bought an 04 plate Fabia VRS. The steering rack was leaking so had a new one put on. When the new rack was put on the pas warning light came on. The mechanic advised the steering angle sensor needed changing so changed that aswell as the pas pump. Light still on so changed the alternator(it was noisy anyway). warning light is still on and steering heavy Fault code on vcds is 00816 - Power Steering Sensor (G250): Open or Short to Plus. He has checked the wiring to and from the pump and all ok. Could it be the new sensor is faulty or could the new rack be faulty? The new sensor didn't come with any wiring like this one http://cgi.ebay.co.u...les_CarParts_SM it was like this one http://cgi.ebay.co.u...es_CarParts_SM. Which one is the correct one? How does the sensor work is there a pick up in the rack? is there any way of testing the sensor with out fitting it in the rack ? ie passing a magnet over it ? Any help would be great cos its doing every bodys head in. Could it be wrong sensor in steering rack? ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
  18. Iv'e seen sunday league sides play better. Rooney was a bag o crap. Sack em all and pick players from the lower leagues. at least they'd try to win.
  19. i used a credit card to gently prise the trim away .It just pops off. The bolero is held in by 4 torx screws -cant remember the size undo these and the unit just pulls out. hope this helps
  20. Capital of Yorkshire is York. The clue's in the name.
  21. No you can't do this on Bolero. You could do it on mfd2.
  22. when she passes the premium will go up. My two daughters both have cars and we found the best way to reduce premiums was to have me as a named driver on thier policies. it made a big difference. One daughter has a 09 corsa vxr arctic editon and with me on her policy she pays £1400 wich is cheap to say she has only got 2 years no claims ans is 20 years old.
