Ok so I'm looking to spend about £6000 on the car itself, and I'm after the following. A Black standard Fabia vRS 04-06 Around 40K Cruise (preferred but not essential) Xenons ESP Leather (preferred but not essential) For around February/March in 2009. Sound realistic enough?

I'm sure there will be a few, just need to keep an eye out. What are the common faults to look for when buying? Or if there is a guide on the forum just tell me to shut up and use the search button :P

Not bothered about CD changer or heated seats, and as long as they are comfy enough then I'm not too fussed about leathers either Got cloth Recaro's in the Golf at the moment and they are just about right.

Lol this could be harder than I thought. However I've got over 6 months to look so I'm not going to give up! Any other options I should be aware of?

Haha right, ok, I'll just have to be more specific in my searching What about VW's ESP, does the vRS have something similar?

Right, I've joined the forum recently as I'm planning to get rid of my Golf next February/March and replace it with a Fabia vRS. I plan to make this thread a place where I can gather information on them, find out about extras they came with etc, then nearer the time I will begin hunting for one. So here were go. I'll be looking to spend about £6000ish roundabout next February time on a standard Fabia vRS in either silver or black. Aiming for about 40K miles on the clock, maybe less. Looking at Pistonheads I reckon this would get me about a 2004/2005/2006 registered model. Are there any common problems associated with the models produced in those years? I read about one issue in my welcome post regarding a stuttering to do with some new emissions thing however I've heard this can be rectified at the dealer. My Golf at the moment has Xenon headlights and cruise control which I'd love to have again, do all vRS's come with this? Finally, why are they called "Furby's":rolleyes: Cheers

Thanks, I am I won't be buying until I can scrape the money together sometime next year unfortunately. I'm just away to go in to my last year of uni so won't be able to work as much as I am at the moment :( However I'll just have to see what comes up then!

Hey all, I've popped over from uk-mkivs to say "hi". I'm 20 and currently drive a Golf 1.6 (some pics below) however I fancy something with a bit more punch and looked at Fabia vRS's a while back. Thought I'd join up and find out more about them, best year i.e a newer model?, common faults, available spec etc Anyway here's my current car. Cheers, John
