There is a key to use in an emergency to unlock the car. The barrel to insert said key is to be found under a plastic insert on the passenger door handle 👍

  2. Don't get mad, get even :D

Either sort something with the dealer to swap to another wheel set. Or take the car as-is, then track down a set of wheels you want. Next, either store the original wheels with car re-sale in mind, so it's not an odd configuration. Or just sell the original wheels 👍

  3. I had a similar challenge when I was considering a Mk3 vRS petrol wagon to replace the Yeti. It does get confusing, and of course you can't rely on even the Skoda dealers to describe the car properly!

    One of the things I used to cross-check was Co2 emissions as these do seem to differ. If it helps this is what I found;

    220 DSG 147g
    220 man 143g
    230 man 143g

    230FL Man 149g
    230FL DSG 149g

    245 man 156g
    245 DSG 144g

So if you are trying to differentiate FL cars, it does appear that you can use Co2 to do this. And this *should* be accurate if using AutoTrader to trawl for cars, as this info is auto-entered when they list the car. Based on the registration number.

    Good luck!

  4. Google both codes. But these are basic error codes, from a generic scanner.

I would get the codes read with proper diagnostic equipment, which will provide you with more information.

My gripe is that Skoda UK seem to choose oddball sizes that are not popular and so very expensive.

Noticed this too. My Tiguan and my Dad's Karoq run different sized rubber on the same sized 18" wheel. The Karoq runs a 215, two sizes narrower - most odd.

  6. It's a UK thing.

We seem hell bent on fitting as big a wheel as possible, 'for looks'. I'm just back from Sweden and you see similar spec vehicles on smaller wheels - whether Skoda, other VW Group, BMW, Merc etc. And I've observed the same in France and Germany.

It can look quite odd at first, but the main issue here is choice - there's no reason that buyers can't have several wheel size options. Aside from brake clearance as Ross has pointed out of course, but most should be able to run a 17" as the smallest wheel size.

Ran into the same issue with my Tiguan that's just arrived - 19s as std. Thankfully there was a perfectly nice 18" option and being an SUV runs some quite compliant 235/55 section tyres. Happy days!

  7. DCC also an option on the vRS, but not sure how long that's been the case if you're looking at upto 2yr old examples. Definitely go back and have a play with the settings on the Superb L&K though!

Will be a pretty rare option that was ticked, I'd have thought. The only other option to consider is if you're willing to tweak the suspension and switch to a Bilstein setup. I've always found the B12 or B14 setup to give a really good compromise between compliance and 'sportiness'.

  8. I ran 4 cables to each room, 2x double faceplate in suitable locations dependant on furniture/room layout. Plus the runs for CCTV.

If you're terminated by front door, does that coincide with the termination point for incoming fibre to the house? Would be nice to get everything wrapped up in one place if so.

Re WiFi, have a look at Ubiquiti APs. Well built and nice to manage, and well priced in my opinion.

  9. I've done something similar, but to an existing house as part of a full electrical re-wire. CAT6 to each bedroom, suitable amount behind the lounge AV area, provision to hook upto CCTV and use PoE etc.

I'd definitely recommend it, when an opportunity presents itself. I terminated to a wall cabinet in my garage, for ease of running the cable if nothing else. Every house is different and a loft termination is often popular. Basically I'd recommend keeping the termination point out of communal areas as it's more popular with the other half! Also from a noise point-of-view. Re your mention of heat extraction, just watch the spec and noise output - I've known some extremely noisy extraction fan for comms cabinets.

Your aside about Sonos is interesting too - I use them and have nothing to do with Amazon services. They'll also connect upto Google Assistant if that's your thing instead - I've found them to be a pretty open design, from a platform point-of-view.
