Looks lovely.
Yep, wheels a definite candidate for getting some sealant on when they come off for a full clean. So less stuff will stick

"Box on", as in a tuning box? Sounds like the most logical scenario that this is causing an ECU issue. Especially combined with the DPF delete.
FIngers crossed it's smooth running from here!- 1

Just a splendid build thread this!
Not really sure how it's taken me this long to spot it, but nonetheless I've now spent the time reading through.

Have a look at Forensic Detailing Channel on YouTube. A few good 'how to' videos amongst loads of product testing.
There was a recent one on an introduction to polishing that might interest and covers initial cleaning etc as well.

Still awake and all very pleasing this!

Get what you're saying - 2001 just seems very early.
The dates I listed are the 'worst case scenario' for sure.

They good are they? Might have to try one.

8th Skoda for me and was another I'd like to have hung onto, but then again I'd never get rid of anything that way 😉

That shows my old petrol Octavia as Euro 4 - it's a 2001 car?
Might be a quirk that, or an error on the database.
As Euro4 was Jan 05 for new vehicle type approval and January 06 for all new registrations to have to comply.
So a 2001 Octy would be Euro3.

Collected this morning at the end of a 2yr lease. So if anyone is in the market for a 1.2DSG SE Drive and sees HX17 HHB come up - it was well looked after
Goodbye old friend, hello new VW...

Makes sense Ross. Just surprised me, as it got first registered on my private plate so had no idea what reg would get assigned. So was a bit surprised!
Something to do with VWFS lease cars as well, as a friend had the same registration area applied when his plate came off at the end of lease. And the supplying dealer for his was Simpsons in Preston.... -
Congrats on the new order. When's it due to arrive?
I did notice something else though - an XC40 is shorter than a Karoq. I remember when I was looking around at lease replacements at the start of the year and it stuck in my mind. The '40 is only 2mm longer than the Yeti at 4425.Unfortunately it didn't seem to be as flexible a load/boot area. And when comparing spec/deals on the Karoq vs Tiguan, that's what led me to VW's door
Enjoy it when it gets here - what colour have you gone for?

Just to add as well, my lease Yeti is about to go back and is owned by VWFS. As they're also based in Milton Keynes and it also came through Jardine Skoda in MK as the registered dealer, you might expect it to be on a 'K' as well for that part of the world.
Nope, it's on an 'H' - registered out of Portsmouth. Work that one out!
So all in all, it can be quite difficult to work out the history of a certain car, based just on the numberplate. You'd need some supporting documents too
-
Would be a K prefix if anything, for 'Skoda UK' car - as their UK office is based in Milton Keynes, same as VW.
Re the reference of 'G' (Kent) registered rentals. I certainly know Enterprise have a lot of Gs on their books as I used to use them a lot for work. Often this is because rental companies will use one dealer (or dealer chain) in a certain part of the country, for the purchase and registration of rental cars.

Never had a problem with port access on the Yeti, with VCDS, Bluetooth adaptor for Torque Pro or an OBD Eleven dongle. But if you're struggling lie in the driver's footwell and look up
Hope you're sorted by now anyway -
Very nice. Bit surprised at the 'soft paint' comment from the detailer though. VAG paint is usually anything but!
Do you know what single stage product and pad combo were used, out of interest?

HPI have a Euro checker that you could try;

Any of the options listed by Jamie really.
Plastic bumpers require maintenance like this, so it will need repeating. There's no magic 'do & forget' solution.
-
Another vote for Aquapel glass sealant. With the surface prepped properly and the product applied as per the instructions, I'd expect you'd get around 2yrs protection from it.
It can just be maintained as normal, with car shampoo and a suitable washmitt.

Prefer a satin finish, rather than gloss. So it's horses for courses.
I'm still very happy with Gyeon Q2 and also still have some Meg's Endurance Tyre Gel knocking about somewhere, but durability isn't as good compared with Q2.

Just a quick one from me - BSD over some ageing C2v3....
From an overnight rain shower...
That shot of the Adams and Fusso99 above looks epic! Tempted by both, but will need to run down other wax and QD stocks first- 3
Dont know what to do...

Hi Mike - I'm missing the logic of flogging after a year, once you've taken delivery of the car?
I think it's fair to say that with a factory order, the painful bit is the unknown of when it will arrive, and the progress (or lack thereof) around the delivery process. Hence your thoughts about cancelling!
But if you've gone through that pain and you like the car, where is the sense in selling after a year? Especially with the likely financial pain that will ensue given the 2nd hand car market and the fact you've taken the large initial hit with depreciation of a brand new car.
