Front parking sensor failure. new Superb

Featured Replies

Today we had a loud squealing and pulsing noise inside the car as we were about to pull away. It eventually stopped but we now have a front parking sensor failure. So far switching off and leaving the car has not resulted in a fix. Will report back as the problem develops.

the noise was obviously the parking sensor sounder not a stray mouse.

So far the system has failed to reset itself and shows an error at start up. booked into garage for investigation.

It's been investigated by skoda, the problem is known.
The module needs to be pulled out and reinserted (temporary fix)

The problem has been diagnosed as being caused by the small tweeters on the dashboard failing or at least one of them. probably when the screeching occurred. This results in the sensor system shutting down for some reason, The car has had the software update done.  The parts need to be ordered so ot will be at least 3 weeks before its fixed.

Update to the above issue. The problem was not the dashboard tweeters but those fitted to the rear door card. The fix is to replace the whole door card???? Still waiting for the parts to arrive 6 weeks later. Very odd is all I can say.

The parts to fix this problem have now been fitted and the problem appears to be fixed. Thank you Skoda, pity it took so long and so many visits to the dealer to resolve the problem.
