  1. My vRS is pulling to the left quite a bit, i don't mean that when i have the steering wheel in the middle it steers to the left, when i let go of the steeringwheel it actually turns to the left. Had 17inch spiders 17/40/205, new springs n dampers 40mm, polly bushes, front strut brace fitted about a month ago, would this make it more susceptible to the road camber effect? I've had a technichan look at it up on a ramp to check if anything was bent and also to carryout a 4 wheel alignment check and everything was perfect. Anyone else had this? or any ideas? I was hoping it would be the tracking as i hit a few harsh bumbs in the couple of weeks after the mods nothing too serious though. Thanks Smithy

  3. I got some 8000k aftermarket xenons from awesome gti, they are fecking unbelievable, my mate has the factory xenons on his 06 vrs, and mine take the **** out of them. It was quite funny seeing his face when he saw them, they actually made his look dirty and yellow. Cost me £140 and worth every penny. Yeah i can see the police setting up check points all over the country to catch the very minority of road users that use aftermarket xenons, lol i'll be laughing about that one for a while.
  4. Mines 40mm f/b on 17's and no probs with speed humps as long as you dont stradle them. If you ask me you should go for 50mm rear and 40mm front. Depends on what your daily drive is i suppose. If its over bad roads and humps then go conservative, if it's motorway then why not slam it. Smithy
  5. If you upgrade your std turbo to a stage 2 unit, the turbo will come in later and peak torque / power will be higher up the rev range, Does this then mean you have a larger off-boost rev range? Thus making it still very economical. I'll be looking to go stage 2 turbo, clutch, FMIC early next year and was just wondering. Obviously on boost it will use more juice, but driving off boost with very light throttle say up to 2500 rpm can you still see mpg up in the 50's?? I'll be looking for around 200-210 bhp / 350 - 380 ft lbs Thanks.
  6. I find that after the remap + decat, it is very hard to not use the turbo when accelerating and this becomes an issue when cold, i have to press the throttle very very lightly and very gingerly accelerate to slowly warm the turbo up. I was told that this is why some people blow their turbo's rather than the fact that it's remapped and decatted.
  7. I purchased my HID kit on my dipped lights from Awesome gti few weeks back, unbelievably bright! brighter than my dad's new AMG Merc with factory xenons, the kit is 8000k and takes 3-4 seconds to reach full brightness once powered up. I do, however, get flashed by oncoming traffic now and again. Having said that, it's the best mod i've done to my car so far, there are no dim sections of my lights' beam; it just seems to be an incredibly full light. Would highly recommend. Smithy
  8. Your after exactly what i've just had done at Awesome gti. Sitting on 17inch spiders. RARB & FARB + pollys Front strut brace, powerflex and cupra solid bushes. I got mine lowered on the Koni sport springs and dampers 40m front and back. Very flat round the corners. The ride is hard but not offensive. Nothing compared to the billy coilovers on my tvr.
  9. Nice! Looks identical to mine. LOL. Colour, wheels, grill, LCR splitter Although mine has no door strips and the handles are coming off soon. Love the way the anthracite goes with the silver.
  10. I got the spiders fitted recently also, however i replaced the suspension. The front strut brace wouldn't make a difference in that aspect. If it's while braking i would lean towards saying warped discs, can't see how fitting new alloys would make it judder only under braking. Smithy
  11. Yeah, i like it more each time i drive it. With getting that much done in a oner it was a bit to soke up but i love it. Totally transformed the car. Service and communication from your fella was second to none. Smithy
  12. Hey Sarah, how are the wheels? u got them on your fabia yet? Nick
  13. Had my vrs lowered 40mm all round on koni springs and dampers on 17's. Will these settle at all? because it doesn't look like a 40 mm drop, it's still too high at the back. Front is bout right Is it possible to fit a pair of coilovers just to the back? so that i could lower it further. thanks Smithy
  14. I just got the full turbo back miltek + decat, sounds nice from outside but most importantly for me was i didn't want to hear it inside the car which you can only just. I didn't want a loud exhaust as the vrs is just my a to b car.
  15. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong, but i was led to believe that that the 2.0 tdi's are not common rail and are not as tunable.
  16. Yeah, it's strange, i just fitted some koni springs and dampers to mine expecting it to be really hard and crash over the bumps but the dampers are great and take the bumps very well. If anything its a smoother ride as your not boucing as much as the standard suspension.
  17. thx for reply. Don't really want to go for the uprated clutch / flywheel so will ask for the torque to be kept a bit lower than yours then. cheers
  18. Getting a few performance and suspension mods carried out at Awesome gti tomorrow and friday including a custom remap. keeping std intercooler / clutch. piperX panel filter 160 intake full turbo back + decat - Miltek And obviously the remap. Just wondered what bhp/torque i can expect? thanks Smithy
  19. split/cracked intercooler maybe, had this on my renault 5 gt but was more of a whistling sound.
  20. No service book.... I'd walk away at almost any price. 2nd one looks a good deal. Although i'm always suspicious about cars well below book price.
  21. I found this when i first got mine, but found it was caused by my clutch depression / gear changes, i came from a car where the clutch bit alot higher up and on my fabia the clutch bites really low down almost immediately after releasing. I know it sounds daft but experiment with the depression of the clutch while changing gear. Smithy
  22. Subtle sleepers are the way forward. I hate in your face. I used to have a perfectly standard looking 260 bhp Renault 5 gt turbo still on it's 13 inch wheels ok they were toyo 888's but looked standard. Used to have sooo much fun taking the **** out of subaru / evo / M3 drivers..... yes I'm immature and proud.
