  1. If you set the sat nav for your journey it will pick the best options for you I believe. Other than that it would be the normal hybrid mode. John
  2. @Brockysuperb, Glad I am not the only one, notice that the system is doing a SW update so it may fix it. As I am on Octopus Agile and tonight is a price plunge where they pay me to use power the car is set to charge tonight so will see if it works this time. Lucky I emptied the battery today :-) John
  3. Hi all, This is a question to all the iV owners. When I charged my car I use to get an alert on my phone from the Connect app. I have the app on Android and iOS but both have stopped getting alerts. This is annoying, as when at work I use to get an alert and move my car off the charge point as we only have two and I do not want to be a charge point hog. Are any of you still getting alerts? John
  4. Will not be down, but have fun :-) John
  5. I have fitted a charger from the OpenEnergymonitor group, this is an open source project and allows me to link the charging (and lots of other power bits in the house) together so that the car will use "excess" solar during the day to charge and the the cheapest 30 min slots at night as the tariff I am on alters per 30 mins. (there are even times when you get payed to use power though these are infrequent) Though with Covid I do not visit work every day the commute is 20 miles so well within the battery to just use electric power and I can "fight" to get one of the two charge points at work, though this should increase soon . I agree that the app can be a bit flaky and was off for most of today but when working is good. I have the car set to warm up in the morning now it has gone a bit cold, during the summer I had it set to cool at work before the journey home. So far I am very happy with the car and even more so as I did a deal with the dealer just before they were locked down to get their demo with 400 miles on it and a major discount. The car is that complex I learn something new each time I take it out, often by accident Also signed up to podpoint as you can get a free top-up at Tesco using their app. I have charged many times in the rain and it is no problem just always put the caps back on and do not try to drive off with the flap open John.
  6. Hi, here are my findings, though not in the manual so may not be the same on the newer version. I always give the gear leaver a tap back once in drive which changes it to regen braking (you either like it or not) this will change the display of current gear from a D to a B this is my normal driving mode weather in electric or hybrid mode. However I found that if I selected Sport mode but still gave the gear leaver a tap to move to B mode it then used the engine/momentum to re-charge the battery, this upped the charge from the end red marker to 50% in the space of 25miles though I think it did use a fair bit of extra fuel. As for normal charging I have an OpenEVSE charger setup that works great for using spare solar power to charge and also can be set to continue to use cheap overnight power. I have the car timers off as I think otherwise as yo have found you could have a conflict It also has a demand shaper function which uses the cheapest 30min slots from my mains supply as I am on Octopus Agile, they also have a GO tariff that has a cheap 5p overnight time slot for charging. If any one is interested PM me for a link where we both get £50 if you sign up. John
  7. Hi all, as mine is the MY20 some of what you are missing I have. One thing I did find the other day as I always give the gear stick a tap back to enable the regen brake mode I still did it by default the other day even though I had put it in sport mode as the battery had all been used, the car then proceeded to recharge the battery every time I was not using all the engine power, battery had charged back to 50% after about 30 miles. I am sure that this was using some extra fuel but was quite good. John
  8. Happy to help not too far away near Pewsey John
  9. I have one of these "wolves" I charge most of the time off solar my journey to/from work is 20 miles well within the range of the battery. The only time the ICE comes in is when I boot it to get past a slow vehicle. What lots of people do not look at is that if you have a to charge off the grid you have no idea how polluting that power is. I do on occasion have to do longer journeys and until the charging infrastructure is vastly improved I would not want a solely electric vehicle . I am hoping we get to the same setup as Norway with hydrogen fill stations with the possibility that the car could power the house at night. John

Hi, my Superb has a normal USB in the centre box and I use this for my music stick John
  11. Hi, Just did the same and moved from Plusnet to VF all worked very well, no issues. I was already on 80/20 and speeds have stayed the same, I did find VF customer care answered much faster than PN John
  12. Did you mean to leave this in??? John
  13. I took my Superb in for the "manual" update but the one they gave me was still 9/19 so total waste of time 😞 Will download the new one as as has been said the paper one does not correctly cover the car. John
  14. Hi, the info from Skoda is about correct from a completely used battery (red marker showing) it takes me about 4.5 hours on a 13 amp plug, quite a bit quicker on the proper charger (though these cars can only charge at 3.6Kw even though most of these chargers can provide 7.5Kw) Mine often takes longer as I can modulate the charge from Solar so is not a constant charge. You can get the charge point fitted and get £350 back from the government but I wanted a charger that had full integration and the government have changed the rules now so you have to have a "smart" system which costs more so even with the money off I got a far superior system doing my own thing. Even if you have a very discharged battery and are only using the 13A cable you should get it charged during the cheap rate period 🙂 John
  15. Sorry 😭 did not know, as you say if anyone wants to share £100, £50 each to move to a good electric tariff for EV/PHEV charging send me a PM John
  16. Hi, I have a full setup that I did myself using kit from https://shop.openenergymonitor.com as I have solar panels this allows me to only charge using "spare" solar or set the system to use cheap rate power overnight as I am Octopus Agile tariff which changes every half hour there are even times when they will pay you to use power. They also have a tariff specifically for car charging over night called Octopus Go. With my system I can see exactly how much power I have put in the car and how much it has cost me. If you do decide to go with Octopus please use this link to sign up as we both then get £50 John
  17. it is generally a very positive click onto the two pins, are you sure you have pressed the "grippers" home? John
  18. Hi, yes it is VCDS, the only issue may be the year if it is early 2015 then my older cable which has no VIN limit can do it. If it is later 2015 then it may need the newer cable which is VIN limited. If you bring the instructions we can try, but it may not like my cable in which case we will be unable to do it. Will bring the kit anyway. John
  19. If you know the coding I can bring a laptop and cable 🙂 John
  20. Just had a look and no mention, however I have been using the "apple" ones I bought last time there was a promotion for over a year without any problems on both the Octavia and Superb. As above the Apple one was the "premium" good for -15 so will keep what I have left for the winter months and use this for summer time. Yes they both smell nice 🙂 John
  21. How about this got 4 x today 🙂 from Euro Car Parts
  22. Hi, I have a different charge system to modulate the charge to just use Solar but still does 100%. Try charging from the 13A charger supplied with the car and see how that works, if that does 100% then it is your charger. Have you got the connect app as this alerts you when the car is fully charged, and on mine is always 100% John
  23. Hope to make it 🙂 John
  24. Finally put some fuel in before prices rise. Not put any in yet 160MPG is not too bad 🙂 John
