  1. always used Vaseline and not had any issues with contacts so far John
  2. Sorry do not have that car any more so no pic, however if you look in the fuse box in the engine bay then look for a green one nearest the screen and look at its contacts and give them a clean and possibly put sone Vaseline on it to stop corrosion. John
  3. Cannot make this month but hope to next month 🙂 John
  4. Always do this and clear the DTCs then take the test drive and see if any come back and then make a decision depending what shows. Did this for a friend and it showed up a heater fan issue John
  5. The nav updates do not give any alerts that they are being done. However I do get the odd warning that there is an update, the most annoying thing is it will not do it when you are moving. I have mine set to connect to my WiFi when at home, though not sure this makes any difference. As mentioned you have to ensure you pay once the car is a year old or the updates will stop. John
  6. That looks odd as mine does not have any knobs and the nav DB is 22.1 so it looks like yours is not updating John
  7. Try Janspeed in Salisbury, they may be able to do this sort of thing John
  8. remember that the amount of regenerative braking varies on the battery state of charge. If you have a full battery you get less braking as there is less current that can be pushed into it. John
  9. Unfortunately I have no clue how it can be done, I just heard that it can be done
  10. The brushers often stick on these motors also they ware down. It is an easy remove from the passenger foot well John
  11. Hi, I have the Superb iV which shares many parts with the GTE. I am sure once you get use to it you will love it. I also hear that you can alter the way the ICE and electric interact to tell the electric to give full power when they are both running in place of the standard 50% John
  12. I would partially agree with the above however this will be a constant 10A for quite a while and unless the socket you are using is a good one this may cause issues. Do a charge from flat and after about 3 hrs go check how warm/hot the plug is to see if you are happy 🙂 John
  13. I have an EmonPi from open energy that does the solar and controls the PHEV charging via MQTT and gets its TOU info from an API to Octopus I also have a Pi running Home Assistant that picks info from the MQTT info. The Tuya app also gets data from its devices that controls heating and lighting from anywhere. I also have a Zigbee hub but do not have any devices that talk to it as the temperature sensor I was using with it was not that great. They call all talk to Alexa or Google but do not have any of them yet. I did build a 7" display module based on Arduino that displays my power info and outside temp, has a graph and a pie chart on it so I can see at a glance if I am using more than the solar is producing. John
  14. Hi, mine does the map updates OTA and is on 21.7 John
  15. Hi, As above they replaced the module on mine. I also had odd issues with the infotainment and after pressing them they checked with SUK and did a firmware update to 0278 the old version was 0156 gave me some new functions but need a new manual I suspect to find out what has changed to see the new bits John
  16. You can use any switch units that are Tuya smart the ones I have used are by Milfra and I got them from Amazon the ones I am using are the TB41 but there are many. John
  17. As mentioned earlier in this thread, my dealer replaced the module and I have not had any issues since 🙂 John
  18. Hi all, Having had issues with random reboots on the infotainment system when the dealer said there was a recall for an AC pipe I asked them to also look at the reboot issue. On checking they found there was a firmware update available so they said they wold do it whilst they had the car in. The system has been updated from V0156 to V0278 This seems to have so far cured the reboot issue but has also added some new features, one being an over speed warning and the side alert now flashes if you have your indicator on to that side. There may be other new bits but have not found them yet, will have to do some hunting to see if there is any manual that shows what it can do.
  19. Hi, try these people, very big in the marine world. I had one on my boat though it was a charger/inverter but was great. Inverters - Victron Energy John
  20. Hi, the work order just says "replaced SOS module and recoded all keys to vehicle" I had to re-add myself as primary user, not sure if here is anything that will need re-doing John
  21. I had my module replaced last week and it seems to be OK now. John
  22. Good to know it is fixed, yes that is the little world that says the system is talking back to Skoda. On mine (Superb iV) that is on the top of the screen John
  23. Have you got the little "world" symbol on the top line of the infotainment ? John
