@DudtheDude Did you take the plug out to reset the charge schedule? Mine although set to 100% never gets there unless I unplug and then let it have a second go the next night it then always gets to the 100% John

@Nagus Hi, the only way I can get mine to charge to 100% or to use Solar is to have the car unplugged then wait a short while then turn off control in the app (this is a slider) wait a while then plug the car in and on mine it will act the same as before IO took control and you can charge from Solar or during the night cheap rate. To go back to IO control unplug again wait a short while enable control again in the app wait a short while and plug in and you should get a schedule sent to you. It is all a tiny bit of a faff but works OK for me for the moment to get the cheap prices. Possibly in the future they will enhance IO to fix these issues as Solar charging is assisting them in reducing fossil fuel usage. John

Octopus contacted me today to say the cost of IO is going down from Fri now 7.5P off peak 🙂 John

Stuttering Superb
Hi, there was a common fault with the cable loom where it made a sharp turn before connecting to the crank speed sensor. The cables were prone to chafing, worth a look. John

@aerofurb It all seems to work OK but with a few oddities. I have mine set to 100% charge but does not usually manage this in one run only reaching 90ish% Also IO stops my solar divert from charging charging the car from spare solar power, the only way I can do this is by temp disabling IO and then putting it back on in the evening. I put a post on the Octopus forum and others have confirmed that they have the same issue and do the same as I am doing. John

@Nagus I think you have to have the car charging (I did for mine) as it looks like they test their control by stopping the charge. John

Looks like they have fixed the issues 🙂 Mine all connected and looked to have done a charge. Just got to work out how to ensure the car does not try to charge up from the house battery, which it will if the charge is set outside the standard reduced tariff time. John

Just re-tried my connection and WOO HOO it went through 🙂 Did need to ensure that I set the charger to "charge" ie disabled my solar divert and set it to a "dumb" charge mode. Suspect it will switch over tonight at midnight John

They have updated the app, now and it tells you to wait up to 5 mins and also retry. However mine still fails 😞 John

Recall on IV...HV battery (93L8)
Salisbury cannot do this work and told me that it would be Bournemouth to do the work. Still waiting for a date when it can be done. Salisbury said it could be some time as only a limited number of places can do the work which fits in with what the other posters are saying. Just wonder what they will do if the vehicle starts to have any problem because of the water ingress. John

Bolero replacement - what functionality is in radio, what is in car?
Hi, When I had the same model as you have I changed to a unit from the Erisin range and these worked well for me. You may need a new surround as if you currently have the non Nav radio the screen size is smaller. most retain all the current on screen car functions and most have the ability to have a rear view camera and Sat Nav. You will need an antenna adapter to inject power to power up the roof antenna John

PHEV home electric charger
one benefit you would get with that charger is that if you are with Octopus it would allow you to have their Intelligent tariff which could save you some money on your electric bill. John

Glove box won't stay closed
@mattbuzz Yes you have to pull quite hard John

Glove box won't stay closed
The lid is very easy to remove, open the door grab both sides then close about 2 inches then pull one side at a time up and it will clip off the bottom hinge. To re-fit you need to unsure the stops are back behind the top lip then pop the bottom back onto the hinge pins one side at a time. To reconnect the damper you have to have very small hands and take off the cover on the side of the dash so you can see the hole it goes into. John

Canbus voltages
Not sure the voltages but these are data bus connections and will have a pulsed signal transmitting data so you will not be able to measure with a meter. The head unit has to decode the data packets to see what they are asking to be done so the unit has to speak at the same baud rate and understand what is being sent. John

What aftermarket head unit will fit my Skoda?
Whatever you put in you will need a new surround from Skoda. I have in the past used the Erisin ones and had no issues with them John
-
non mechanical fault not repairable
Hi, I have had a few problems with my car and if you try to work with the dealer they generally will try to sort your issues. If that dos not work the "chat" on the Skoda site usually gets something done. I still have 1 outstanding issue but the dealer/Skoda have been nothing if not helpful in trying to fix though we have still not got down to the fix. Give the dealer a chance to sort things, give them a list of what is wrong and keep at them till they get fixed. It may help if you can take a video when the problem is occurring as intermittent issues can be very difficult to pin down 😞 John

iV charge display
This works on the Superb but not sure on the Octavia. If you put it in sport mode and tap the gear leaver to but it in "B" mode it will change to a self charge hybrid (not sure if this is an advantage to use expensive fuel to charge but it is there) Again on the Superb it will run happily on a long journey with the batt out of power and if in "B" mode will put some power back into the battery at times. Mine takes between 10 - 11 Kw to fully charge from the red indicator (Superb) John

Superb IV improving battery performance
@globalste I had the SW update done on mine quite a while back, just went in with the fault code printouts to Hendy at Old Sarum. If you want to send me a PM, I can run a VCDS test and give you the printout. I have just come back from a run to Salisbury and back (35miles) all on battery and the dash shows 4.1 M/Kw. No ICE used Though it is warm today and did have the A/C on. John
