  1. Thanks and I will keep a eye on the coolant as you say. There are various stories to the K series problems, I have read more than most on the subject. It is however my first K series even though I have had a few british cars.
  2. Close its a GTM Libra with a 1.8 K series. I am told by the former owner that its around 120bhp so nearly 160bhp/ton given the low weight. The history file is fantastic with drawings both factory supplied and amendments made by the constructor. His drawings are as good as the factory supplied and all the invoices to boot. Its like a mini novel. I am the fourth owner and have added 1300 miles to the at sale point of 8599 miles. The car was started in 1999 and first registered in 2002.
  3. Took may new runaround over a route I had been on with the said Captain Scarlet ( Ian looking forward to meeting up again for another one of your runs ). From Penrith up the A686 to the Hartside Cafe then onwards toward Alston turning north onto the A689 towards Carlisle then back down south via the A6. The weather was not so bad and the traffic was light making this a great route to travel today. Oh some pics of the runaround. http://imageshack.us/g/833/img2405lbf.jpg/ Steve.
  4. I am sorry to say we will have to miss this as we will be on holiday. Hope to catch you again on another run soon.
  5. It might be a little bit of a pain in the a**e to change more than 8 spark plugs me thinks.
  6. We might not be coming in the MGV8 as I am going to look at this on friday. I always loved the look of them so here's hoping this is the one for me. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2272302.htm Steve
  7. If I can I will, always enjoy the runs out round Cumbria. Steve
  8. Thanks now back on the oval X-powers,shortened now as they came off a estate version ZTT. So what do you think so far as regards the 3.6 V6. Steve.
  9. Red wine, Australian Cabernet sauvignon. Nice. Reason waiting results on medical tests about my liver so must get some in before its all over!!!!! Steve.
  10. My car Some other links http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fY1ZVylMLEc Steve.
  11. There's no getting away from the fun a big engine can bring but nothings for nothing. I run a 4.6 supercharged MGZT and love even turning the key, but its always tempered with a need to extract value for money and that costs. So if you don't do big miles or can do the mundane one's in something else get one. Life is short and as Peter Griffen said" I could have had a V8". Having run a V6 they are a sweet sound and I whole heartedly recommend this before all that is left requires lithium or some other ****. Steve
  12. I know its not the same car but I ran a ZX 1.4 to 236k no faults no leaks and cheap to run. It was also a great car to drive. As for what I would choose I will get back to you. I have only driven the Skoda VRS in this collection. So the first thing I would do is drive them all. Steve.
  13. What did you have to do? as I have one and the local garage has never charged heavy or said they were a pain to work on. Steve.
  14. I travel 500 miles plus each week so I have been able to compare various makes of diesel and in my Fiesta Sport Van 1.6 TDCi the best fuel of late has been the standard shell diesel. The van is nippier and more economical on standard than the more expensive stuff. Steve.
  15. Indeed welcome, nice speaking to you at work the other day. Hope to see you on future runs. Steve.
  16. Found this on a fiat forum has to be the best advert for a car ever. I even started looking on autotrader and pistonhead Steve.
  17. Get them posted soon please, I need to see. Steve.
  18. Great drive out, sorry to all who headed north up the M6 when I left for fuel. Nice mix of cars, great roads. Next time I must fill up before the start. That was 3/4 of a tank full of fun. Steve.
  19. Worked off shore many moons ago and had the good fortune to work on the then named DB102. At that time the largest of its type. http://freepages.family.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~treevecwll/anc8_files/image025.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3438/3887363595_3a084e14c8.jpg http://vimeo.com/4661967 Steve.
  20. Never tried daisy on carpets. I found out about daisy on the detailing world forum have a look there. There are sure to be someone there with a head up on daisy and carpets. Steve.
  21. I sound proofed a Citroen ZX, I bought the kit from a exchange and mart long before the internet became what it is now. The kit cost around £100 and contained a two layer floor kit, under bonnet and door panel inserts. It took me a whole day to fit including the removal of seats and carpets and there re-fitting. The sound levels were greatly reduced and the overall stance of the car was a little lower, the kit weighed 45kg. This gave the car a more potent stance which I liked. It was not to hard just hard work!!!!! Steve.
  22. Look along the cleaning product row, you know fairy etc.
  23. Save yourself some money and get some daisy APC from tesco. Twice as much for a tenth of the price. Use neat on wheels with about 1 minute dwell time, anywhere else dilute. Steve.
