  1. Just thinking out loud. If you add another phone (say basic Nokia) it might let you into the bluetooth menu so you can delete all the users profiles that were created to start from scratch with the BB. If this works best to delete the rSAP device on the phones Bluetooth.
  2. Sorry just checked. The bluetooth menu appears under phones only if the phone is connected to car. Have you tried deleting the rSAP in the BBs bluetooth devices and try the new device option on the MFD.
  3. There is an electric jack. It make the seat go up and down.
  4. SimonK In the bluetooth menu on the MFD have you this list. User - the overview of the stored users New user - Search for users who are in the reception range Visibility - Switching on the visibility of the telephone unit for other devices Extras Headset Modem Phone name - the possibility to change the name of the telephone unit (preset SKODA-rSAP) In the user menu it should have the current user that your BB is assigned to. Delete this user and delete the rSAP from the bluetooth devices on the phone. Turn everything off and on again and start as if for the first time and connect the phone. Once OK regular offs and ons on the BB help the link of the phone to the columbus stay very consistent. Reply if the menu is the same for you as above to see if you are in the right menu.
  5. In my Elegance there is jack under the seat. Only the carpeted floor and the electrics for the seat.
  6. SimonK, I have the BB Storm and this too has rSAP. There was an initial problem connecting it like you said. I had to delete the profile. If you go into the MFD and the Phone setup and bluetooth and users you should find the user profile for the phone you connected in there, as described by Ray above. If yes delete it. Then pair it to the phone again. One thing is you changing the bluetooth name on the phone does not mean a new profile in the columbus. They are different even though the initial name is the same on the MFD profile and the Bluetooth recognised name. As for your lost connection I have found that if the BB connects beyond a certain number of times to the car consecutively that the connection will eventually fail. If you pop the battery from the phone and turn it on again and then start the car the phone should get picked up again. I have to set my BB to auto turn off and on every night and the connection to the car has not failed since I did that. The only issue I have now is that the auto on on the BB storm doesnt work properly and doesnt restart the phone so I have to power it up manually. Try removing the battery before deleting the profile. Appologies if you have tried the battery already. Dave
  7. Suze, Just taxed new Superb II Elegance 2.0L 170bhp (from NI - March 2009) in Ireland for €302. On imports it depends on the age. Cars after July 08 most diesels came down in tax and most petrols stayed the same or increased unless they were really efficient vairiants which reduced. Cars post July 08 use the old Tax. My old 00 1.9tdi 90bhp is between €500 and 600 to tax. Doesnt addup.
  8. Only Joking .... Im impressed with the Navteq maps on the car. Have the tele Atlas ones in a tom tom and the coverage in Ireland is not as good, less detail and not as accurate. DF
  9. Its handy when touring around. I used the feature in USA with tom tom while driving around to check on local hotels and would be handy if travelling to UK or Europe in the car.
  10. I have the one standard in the superb elegance UK spec.
  11. Is it possible when browsing the POIs to dial the number with the POI directly from the SAT NAV. Common feature in Tom Toms. I have to currently write down the number and type it in to the phone number pad. D
  12. Dan123, Dave here Im from "the the middle of nowhere in the wild west of Ireland on a tiny little lane" as your relations are. Its not all bad. Suze as for the maps the ones in the new superb (2007 map) is a little dated and doesnt have the latest changes. If you can get your hands on the one on the forums with the BMW map they are bang on uptodate with lots of detail for small roads etc.
  13. I was waiting for that comment. You'd never know he might like them.
  14. Bagpuss, Isaw the v4 map recently on a freinds passat and I think they are even older than 2007. There is a new estate near me that has 2 connector roads to major roads. On my 2006 navteq map one road is there with most of the layout of the estate. on 2008 tele atlas map there is more detail but on the v4 map there was no estate and no road. What does be on the new versions or upgrade disks if the maps are not uptodate or a least 6 months from the latest navteq maps to allow time for VAG to personalise them.
  15. thanks for that. I find it hard to realise at times that settings can be in the columbus and the MFD and what is where. Youd image all the media / Radio / Phone settings would be on the columbus rather than the MFD. I see that with the SAT Nav too. The street or road you are on is displayed on the MFD but would suit better on the columbus. Say "Upper Hartstonge Street" on the MFD looks like "Upper Har..." could be anything. The MFD is good at speed..MPG...Quick Nav instructions but somethings have too much detail to appear there. D
  16. All, Maybe Im missing something but firstly is there voice dialing in the Columbus unit in the Suberb II elegence. Where are the settings for it and how is it initated. D
  17. Bagpuss. A friend of mine has a v4 dvd. Can I run this from the DVD to see what its like or do I have to install it on the HD. I would like to run from the DVD for a while first before changing anything. Is there anything that doesnt work with V4 and columbus. Is it the same process to update the POIs as v3. Is the issue I note above still in v4 where by when I open a POI showing addresss and tel no is there a way to ring that number from the screen without writing it down and dialing manually. One last thing. if I update the HD map with V4 and dont like it, is it easy to roll back to v3.
  18. Question - When you choose a POI and the address and phone number is displayed on the screen, is it possible to ring the number displayed on the screen directly rather than having to take down the number and switching over to the phone menu. I use this feature on the tom tom and find it very handy.
  19. All, I was a little disappointed when I found that the centre console doesnt have a 12v cig charger in it. I think it would have been a great idea as you could charge your mp3 player whileconnected to the aux port. Also you could charge your phone there too as its not important that the phone has good signal with the columbus unit. And finally it would mean that the ashtray lid doesnt have to be open all the time with a charger connected to it making the whole thing look untidy. Has anyone added a 12v connection in the console. Would it be easy to take power from the 12v connection for the people in the back ? FYI I use a Blackberry Storm so charging is a daily occurance not a weekly one for say Nokias etc. D
  20. Thanks mannyo. I suppose hasnt hit the skoda part of the group yet. Did you just upgrade the HDD maps from Skoda dvd v3 to VW v4 or was there a special process. Are there codes or serial numbers involved or is it just a matter of loading the DVD to the HD. 1 more thing. Has the v4 a way of storing favourites or naming and storing recent destinations.
  21. All, Any update on the v4 maps for Columbus / Skoda. I held off on getting maps with new car and retailer ordered latest disk from Skoda Uk. It arrived today but its v3. I rang skoda UK and they said there is no v4 disk available yet through SKODA. Are the v4 maps mentioned here the VW maps that work in the same unit or are they a skoda genuine part. D
  22. Rizla_O I have a 170bhp Elegance for the last 2-3 weeks and the BB Storm phone connected with the Columbus no problem. I had a little issue the first time creating the profile in the MFD. But I deleted it on the MFD and from the Bluetooth devices on the phone and started again. 1 thing once you connect it will copy all your contacts from the BB which for me was apporx 1000 and took about 5 mins. I have setup the Headunit with speed dials have all the menus, missed / received calls etc with not one glitch of any sort. As the columbus has its own phone and uses your BB SIM I have noticed a huge increase is coverage. Its like the old days with a cradle built in car kit. The one downside is that while the car has control of your phone your BB is technically turned off so its not receiving any email. (Correct me if Im wrong anyone). Text messages appear on the MFD on the dash no problem either. Beats all my previous kits hands down for BB Storm compatibility, Address book management, text messages and most of all coverage.... D
  23. All, I have a stupid question. In the Full Superb brochure the basic model has "Storage box under passenger seat". I have a CR170 Elegance but this doesnt sem to be there but the brochure doesnt say its excluded. Do other Elegance owners have this storage box or is it not in the elegnce to allow for seat motors etc.:confused::confused::confused:
  24. All, Went with the option of getting the spoiller fitted by dealer. (Mullhollands - Randalstown) And it was a brilliant decision and very professional finish and colour match. Its a Steel Grey Elegance and the spolier even though small makes a huge differance to the overall appearance. Others that have seen the car line the subtlety of the spoiler and all comment on it. Should be Std on the Elegance at least though.
  25. Sorry to repeat but I just want to confirm that the spoiler is just stuck on to the boot. Was there any prep required to the boot for the pads to stick. Its just that some have said they were charged hundreds of pounds to paint and install and it seems alot for just painting and sticking to the boot and no disassembly or drilling required.
