  1. Hi At last there has been some sun so i am able to post some pics of the interior. Also couple of people asked does it have both keys yes it does and ALL the origonal skoda booklets it came with still in the skoda wallet. I will also throw in the Haynes manual as well. Let me know if you have any questions Thanks
  2. I am selling my 2004 (54 plate) Fabia vrs in solid red. It is being sold as we are getting a Yeti. I have owned it from new and it has 85000 miles on the 1.9 diesel engine. It has been fully serviced approx every 6000 miles or so and is in good condition Recently all 4 alloy wheels have been re-alloyed by a wheel specialist. All cam belts and such items have been replaced at the correct time. There are no modifications to the car, so no re-maps, different wheels, upgraded brakes etc. It is pretty much as it came from the factory. MoT until October 2016 It has, air conditioning, 6 speed gearbox, headlight protectors, vrs interior cloth mats and had a chassis wax treatment pre-delivery from the dealer. Its a great car and it will be a sad day when it goes. I have some outside photos just now but the light was not good this morning so will post some interior ones later. I am looking for £2850 in an ideal world but I am open to sensible offers Car is in Fareham in Hampshire Thanks for looking
  3. yeti is 2nd hand and has 7000 miles Fabia is 1 owner only - me and 85000 miles
  4. Hi Thanks to all who contributed here - i put the deposit down on a Yeti today - 14 plate Elegance in white with the 140 bhp engine and 4x4. Will be picking up in a week or so once they have done a couple of things for me. So I will be joining this formum and leaving the Fabia forum. It will be sad to let the little car go, had so much fun with it over the years. So if you know of anyone who wants a great 54 plate vRS then tell them to get in touch. I will be advertising it on here once I upgrade my membership See you soon
  5. Thanks for the replies so far - really useful
  6. Hi Been thinking about trading in my Fabia vRS for a Yeti - it will be a sad day but family reasons and all that. So the question is which 1 - its main job will be to take wife to work about 20 mile round trip each day - 5 days per week so not massive mileage and not motorway. However, I do quite like the idea of the 4x4 version - used to have a land rover (which I know is NOT the same) but I also work in emergency services so the idea of being able to get to/from a job/work in all weathers is appealling as well. I am guessing the 4x4 mpg is a lot less than the 2wd version? Any user figures on here?? Also is the 4x4 only in the diesel engine and is this the engine VW have been having issues with? With the rear seats do they all fold flat and/or is there a 'ski - hatch' in one for long loads? I am thinking of adding a factory fitted tow bar - is it the kind you can remove when not in use? Also - what does the hill contol button do - is it worth it Also is the off road button worth it - seen a few videos which seem to suggest it really helps with 4x4 mode. Sorry for all the questions but always good to get opinios of users in these things I think. Thanks
  7. You might be interested to know the HM Coastguard have bought quite a few of these as area commanders cars. These are used by the officers to respond to incidents as well as daily patrols and other taskings. I understand they do get a really good reception there. They are 4x4 version. Equiped with blue lights, sirens as you would expect from a 999 service and packed with rescue equipment Nice to see another frontline emergency service using these. I cant copy the photo here as it might be copyrighted but here is a flickr link which I hope is OK with some yeti pics https://www.flickr.com/photos/61129021@N06/16788606175/
  8. I would be interested if you have the vrs door sill protectors availeable please
  9. thanks everyone - really helpful my suspicion was battery as well. It started after I gave the battery a bit of a hard time one night as I left the side lights on for a couple of hours because of where I was, so my thoughts were its drained down a bit and never quite recovered.
  10. hi I have a 61 plate skoda Octavia 2ltr diesel. It does plenty of miles circa 25k pa and lots of long motorway runs. Sometimes when I am parked up I have the doors open for work so I can get tools and equipment in and out. After a while I get a 'bonging' noise and sometimes after 15 mins I get a warning from the radio its going to shut down. If I start the car and run for 5 seconds then turn off problem goes away for a while, then repeats. Never had any probs starting car and garage checked battery on last service and they said all ok. Any ideas what the bong is for - nothing on warning screen in dash hope you can hlep
  11. Yes good day out - i had an instructor as well which was really helpful to get the line in the corners For others this is a really well organised day out with no nonsence tollerated by the track staff - i saw one guy overtaking on the wrong side and he got told off next lap. Full briefing and marshall cover - might do it again - really designed for novice testers I am 102 in the photos
  12. Hi I think i saw you earlier - you were moving arround the paddock when i arrived about 12.30 or so How did you get on - I did ok and the fabia did really well against some of the other bigger and more expensive cars on the track
  13. I am booked in for an afternoon session -in the red Fabia vrs might see you there
  14. OK tried this out a bit more Borrowed a car earlier today (Nissan unfortunately) and tried to pair the same phone to the radio there. Paired firsttime no probs. The Nissan is a factory fitted unit, so it looks like the Nokia 113 does not talk properly to the radio in the skoda - which is a bit poor really as the whole reason to upgrade the phone recently was so it would be able to be used in the car!! Anyone any ideas?? I could ask the dealer but dont hold out much hope there
  15. Hi Gadgetman to confirm the phone is visible to the car kit, it allows me to enter the pairing code and adds the 'skoda bt' as a paired connection and then after 10 secs of pairing just drops out - any ideas?? Thanks
  16. ok i think you are saying delete the iphone, try to connect nokia as conncetion 1 and see if that works?? should it really make any difference?? I have updated the phone software tonight but that has not helped - will try this solution in the morning thanks
  17. DPFs seem to be an issue if you idle a lot or if you do short journeys. In another life I have use of a nissan navara and it spends a fair bit of its time parked up on tick over. Once a month as a minimum we need to take it down the motroway for 20mins at highish RPMs otherwise at an inconvenient moment it goes into safe mode and we get about 1000 rpm to limp home with. Be interesting to see what happens as the percentage of bio in the diesel increases
  18. yes to clarift the iphone is een by the car and pairs ok. the nokia is seen by the car and pairs but then drops out after 5 seconds The bluetooth kit is all factory fitted and i have a maxidot dash thing and it drives the iphone no probs. Just tried to connect the iphone to the nokia - by bluetooth and nokia says service not supported will look at this again thanks
  19. HI everyone not been on here for ages Got a 61 plate octavia with Bolero radio Linked the iphone 4s to it ages ago when i got it but its a work phone so thought i would upgrade my personal phone to a Nokia with bluetooth. I can get it to pair ok but the pairing only lasts about 5 seconds then it drops it. I have turned off the iphone and tried it with only the Nokia in the car still the same. The Nokia is a Nokia 113 and runs bluetooth 2.1 Its really annoying because with the old car it was the Nokia that paired no probs and the blackberry would not. Has somthing changed or am i missing something?? Thanks in advance
  20. ok I need to change the module I think - is this a definate it will work job ??
  21. I had this warning light and it was the exhaust gas pressure sensor thing under the bonnet. The VAG tech who came out was really good and told me that this was quite a common fault. While not a massive issue, the faulty sensor might cause the system to try and shut down, even though there was no reall problem. Fixed in the car park on site in about 30mins
  22. Thanks for the info on these items - it looks like there are several different formats of phone and of 'car kit'. Until an ISO type std is agreed we will be left with a betamax/VHS or DVD\Blue ray scenario where either a dominat player in the market will force the other out or the poor end user - that is you and me - will suffer as the two items wont connect. Going to try re-setting the phone and reconfigure - problem is the company gave me the phone for work after I have been asking for ages - its a good tool and I can see the advantage of it, but if I cant make phone calls I loose all that time and more - still dont want to appear too ungreatful either
  23. update on this one - the BB now does NOT pair with the car any more - I have not changed the settings - so really disappointing. And guess what it paired no probs with the Peugot cheap van kit!!! Any ideas why it did pair and now does not - I assume if it worked once and no other hardware changes have taken place the hard ware must be ok? therefore it must be software or settings - does that follow? any ideas gratefully recieved. Just looking at the forum, there seems to be a great many faults with the radio systems, and lots with the car phone/bluetooth/columbs in particular - is someone in skoda picking up on this ?
  24. Hi fifddled with all the settings on the phone and today it worked. It seems like it found there was a new sim there and registered it. The address book is completely scrambled but at least it is there and the phone has paired 2 times. Still seems too complicated to me So to summarise it is possible to get a BB Bold 9780 to pair with a columbus
  25. sometimes I think the system picks up road works where there is a 50 limit for 5 miles for example as 5 miles of slow moving traffic. I know I used to get that on a regular run of mine when the roadworks were on. Now they have gone so has the traffic issue. Not sure why they cannot sort that problem out to take into account the road work speed restriction.
