  3. The rads are coming from TMS & they replace them without too many problems as though it is a regular occurence. I will try TPS it sounds very similar to TMS, just tried them, quoted more than Skoda & that was with a discount Tanks for your replies Tel
  4. i need to replace the rad ( 3rd time 2new ones have developed leaks -why?). As the air con. is kaput I might as well remove rad for that as well it might make the job easier in the future :wonder: Any ideas why I keep getting leaking rads could it be extra pressure build up somehow or is it the quality of the rad which is coming from a factor. I must admit weight wise it feels like they are made out of egg boxes. thanks Tel
  5. Had thi Have this problem with the intermittent instrument fault, took it to our local electronics shop for repair/resolder - £45. Still the same but with added fault of no mileage shown just a blank screen. Think I will have to try & get a used cluster now but what can be causing the original fault? I understand some spares are the same as the V.W. passat & Golf is that correct or does it just apply to some parts. Any advice would be much appreciated. Tel
  6. When I fire up the laptop T/T loads (not selected as default) is there anyway of preventing this? Best I can do is to stop the blog/info appearing but I still have the info in the address bar. How can I stop this. Thanks Tel Win 7 system
  7. I need to replace the rad on my "99 90bhp TDI is there anyone out there who has done this & could give me a few tips! Thanks Tel
  8. I am thinking of buying 1 of these plug-in diagnostic "thingies" that helps you to find faults on vehicles. The only problem is whih 1 to buy. The Ebay site Galactic Warehouse has loads of them all with different prices sooooo my query is which do I buy for my 2006 2.5 TDI Superb, also they have a range of reversing aids/sensors & spares which I hope will replace a faulty unit on the car. Any suggestions please. Tel :wonder:
  9. Thanks for that -- making a start now!
  10. I would swop places with your partner because its obvious your not squeezing correctly Tel
  11. The heater blower motor needs to be replaced in the 99 Octy. Is it a fairly easy job to do & any tips on how to do it? Tel
  12. thanks cled & sam I think I need to remove the bumper because I have had a towbar fitted which is blocking access to them I think I get the bumper off by removing the 4 bolts inside the boot? Another query ----these diagnostic cables u can get off Ebay list several different numbers & prices all of which do my car.Would u know which 1 I want? Tel
  13. Well I seem to have cured most fault except have the seat belt light illuminated, initially when starting up air bag fault lit & then goes out & just the reversing sensors but a diagnostic check says that is the RHS 1 faulty, where would the cheapest place to get 1 of those? I was impressed with this diagnostic "thingy" so had a look on Ebay prices from £10 to £22 for the cable but different numbers so I will have to try & find a forum about those Anyway at the moment I am a" happy bunny" Porky2 Oh nearly forgot how do remove the bumper ect to get at the sensors?
  14. Tried today to lift the seat out but couldn,t manage it. I will have to get a bit of " muscle" in to give me a hand. Our car is a 06 so it may be different to the 04 I am taking it in to the garage to get the radio code so I will try & have a word with the mechanic about it. Thanks again Porky
  15. how does 1 get the rear seat out. I,ve taken the front seat out but need to lift the carpet to get at these joints Tel
  16. hi gizmo Thats what I am on with at the moment. Water in both F & B have taken out the seat & now need to take out the rear, can u help on that 1. Once thats done I am going to solder everything in sight & then cover in vaseline spray the loom tie wrap & then wrap with that vaseline impregnated tape that they used for wrapping the old metal gas pipes. Mind u that could be a bad idea because sometimes wrapping cables can act like a pipe carrying water from an area where u can,t wrap them, to a socket or something like that. If that isn,t successful I will probably sell the car! I haven,t any interior rear lights, sunvisor mirror lights,or reversing sensors. I have EMailed Skoda head office for help but I am not really expecting a reply, which is sad. their is a lot of competion vehicle wise so if you are thinking of changing your vehicle customer service can be a deciding factor. Tel
  17. Thanks for that Would this cable help me to diagnose the fault on the rear interior lights & reversing sensors,or is it just mechanical? Is it model orientated i.e. V6 2.5 tdi or does it do a range of vehicles Thanks Tel
  18. Hello VAG Direct Are u going (or have been) helping us with varios problems with VAG problems?

  19. Hi What is V G -Com KKL cable & what does it do?
  20. Oh Sh... poo It looks like I have developed this loom problem. Started with water in the footwell about 3mths ago & carried out the repair as per Baker,s instructions (excellent)Didn,t have any problems with things not working apart from reversing senser. Put it all back together last week after allowing 2mnths to make sure everything was A OK Now now now now -Ist thing when turning on ignition Airbag Fault, seatbelt sign illuminated, rear interior lights not illuminating, wing mirrors not dipping when selecting reverse, + reversing sensers. The good news is suddenly at 11-45pm last night reversing sensors & wing mirrors WORKING Is there a full moon? Well at least I have saved myself £20 having to pay Skoda for the radio code (until the next time) for some reason the code I was given by Skoda, the last time I had to pay for it, won,t work Tel
  21. Hi Ian Yes I am running XP, the good news is someone has sorted out the Elsa problem (download an older version of Adobe? & a problem with Hard----something) but, there isn,t anything on the electrics! perhaps Zeecue can help me out! Thanks Tel
  22. Hi Cledwin / Samm I am worried now that u have mentioned ECU because I have had water ingress problems though I did think I had caught it before any damage had been done. I bought 1 of these Elsa service dvd off Ebay but have been unable to load it & was unable to get any help from the seller. So it looks like I will have to live with it What really p.........es me off is that I took the car into my local whilst still under guarantee for repair, no mention of the cause (water ingress) which if I had been told about the problem I would have made sure it didn,t happen again Thanks for your replies Tel
