  1. A 1.9SDI from his car info on previous posts.. His Signature: "NIR Night-Vision; Angel Eyes Black Headlights; Black Euro style Rear-Lights; Chrome, lots of it, everywhere on the exterior and interior." Lots and lots of chrome!
  2. In a strange kind of "wouldnt want one myself but...." way I quite like it. Until I saw: http://www.chiroptera.be/fotos/auto/auto07.jpg WOW! Never thought I'd see net curtains in a car!
  3. ^^ just had a scout around and that was the only thread I could find of his with lots of pics.
  4. Saw this myself a few days ago.. it was whilst I was on a wild goose chase about retrofitting xenon headlights. Hope that helps! EDIT: Capow.. Found it: http://briskoda.net/fabia-i/fabia-angel-lights-decisions-decisions/121426/#post1415178
  5. got the leather gear knob.. came from a proper dealer, Martyn Beever in York?? Fitted fairly easily and looks great!
  6. Damn that igotapolo.. buying 4! Now thats just greedy! Glad I got in there sharpish
  7. Buy one yourself.. its only 2 quid! (How can this guy afford to sell them so cheaply?! Maybe I should be hoarding them and selling them to unsuspecting "full price payers"!!)
  8. You got PM Dave Loving the retrim by the way.. only just saw the pics of that!
  9. I have the same problem.. not so much the loud idling but definite jerks about a second after changing gears whilst accelerating through the revs.. also during town driving it jerks a bit. Mine has 84k on the clock and had an MOT and service in Feb and was in good nick when I got it. I think possibly it may just be a design problem with the car? As for engine cover.. there is a small plastic cap towards the back of the engine underneath which is a 10mm nut.. you need to get a spanner on the other side under the cover to hold the bolt on the other side. Then under the skoda badge there is another 10mm nut. Then take the oil filler cap off and the whole thing comes off. Be careful not to lose the 10mm nuts!:thumbdwn:
  10. Just clicked Buy It Now on the gear knob.. looks much nicer than the plastic piece of rubbish I have on mine at the moment.. Is it a straight swap on my car?
  11. Looking good Dave, Love the alloys and the splitter.. Keep up the modding and convincing yourself it is as standard as possible :P Old alloys for sale by chance?! Will
  12. I havent been yet nope.. Need to head over there to get a coolant leak sorted out under used car warranty. Will keep you posted on how (un)helpful they may be!
  13. Hey guys, Had a little tinker with the Fabia earlier.. took the throttle body apart to see what was going on in there and found out the dealer had actually cleaned it up for me !! Then I noticed the coolant bottle on reassembly and it was below minimum (again!) I had this problem about a month ago, I took it in under the 3 month warranty and they said it was a leak from some valve/sensor on the radiator cap?? But now its leaking again! Any obvious places for leaks or should I take it back to the dealers to sort out.. I have about 2 and a bit weeks left on this 3 month warranty so it may be worth getting them to check it out anyway before it runs out? Thanks, Will
  14. Hello from suffolk to you! I am in between hadleigh and sudbury so not too far away.. the people on here are really friendly so any queries you have ask away!
  15. Might have to pop down and buy a few door popper thingies this weekend.. Will let y'all know how it goes
  16. Hmmmmm! Looks like a bigger project than I expected.. possibly a summer project then! Thanks for the info Ken
  17. Dont want to jack your thread butttt...... I have the classic trim level.. any way of getting the dash to report mpg figures? or is this only on a higher trim?
  18. What size battery did you buy? If its not that then maybe the Pump, Sensor, Alternator or Alternator sense wire... You just need to eliminate the possibles!
  19. What is wrong about them? you will need to bolt them in I think.. as the original buckets are held in with rivets. Can you post any pics of your problem? I have also seen that they are the adapters that people use so i'm not sure what you're doing wrong!
  20. On my Dads XC90 the doors dont set off the alarm. I'm not sure if its the same with Skodas but I assume it probably is. Someone trying to open the handle isnt really a threat but someone smashing the window is.. and the motion of the smashing would be picked up.
  21. Just recently got my skoda and first thing I did was go out and buy a new Pioneer headunit.. unfortunately not having any rear speakers slightly annoyed me. I prefer the more "surround" feel of having rear speakers when driving. Due to my Fabia not having door slots I am left with either 6x9's or 7x10's or something similar. I have read all about the argument that upgrading the front will be better than anything you could put in the back - bar a sub. Unfortunately I don't have the money for a sub yet still yearn for more bass! My plan - 1. Infinity 6522i for the front, maintaining the original tweeters if possible. 2. Pioneer (or equivalent) 6x9's mounted on rear parcel shelf with home made stealthing. These would run off the HU rear channels with the aim of instating an amp at some point in the future. I know rear speakers arent to everyones tastes but I prefer them and 6x9's are the way to go as a compromise on quality and bass. Opinions anyone?
  22. I rang up a couple of places today and one quoted £225 fitted inc. VAT and all parts another place quoted £160-200 fitting inc. VAT but you supply the kit. Rough idea of costs there.. In my case I think that money would go much better on a nicer sound system.. and some Damplifier!
  23. I have looked at this, well fitting central locking anyway, and the kit was about £30.. the labour was going to be about 5 hours per door! you need to run cables all the way from each door to the front dash under the steering wheel probably. I am going to ring up some auto electricians and get some quotes for them fitting it.. I shall post back when I know!
  24. Did you get any pics of cleaning the TB? You have the same model as mine and mine also struggles to idle at traffic lights! Cheers
  25. Is there a fuse socket ready for the estates 12v socket in the back or is it run off the same fuse as the front socket? With regards to the power to the headunit.. It is only on when the key is in and the ignition is on.. That means it is switched. My plan was to get an extension wire such as Cigar Lighter Plug Extension Lead and snip off the male end, splice into the headunit power cable and connect the live from the extension to this power cable and then run the whole thing over the right hand side of the car. Behind the trim I could then just plug my existing charger into it and charge the phone! The alternative would be for me to somehow take a feed out of the fusebox and run it up which would avoid the issues of trapsing cable across the whole car. Could anyone post a pic of the fuseboard circling a point where I could get a 12v feed and a ground? Thanks!
