  1. It's definitely 6 x 9, if you use base 13. http://www.unitconversion.org/numbers/base-10-to-base-13-conversion.html
  2. Or something similar to this... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1PC-Car-safety-belt-clip-Car-Seat-belt-buckle-Vehicle-mounted-Bottle-Openers/32692256486.html?spm=2114.30010308.3.114.qhVgm4&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_4,searchweb201603_1&btsid=242049a8-2861-4ec5-b842-a2ede2df8c47
  3. I'm sure I read that somewhere to..... I think it was some sort of guide book.
  4. I'm not sophisticated enough to have a Stream MP3, just a bog standard Stream.
  5. I got Carista for a one off payment of £14.99. I understand it's very limited which is why I put the caveat in that it depends what they require it to do. I am thinking of going down the VCDS route myself but at the moment, Carista fulfils my needs. I think the purchase of VCDS will happen when I get around to changing my Stream for a Bolero or Columbus as that will be the start of mods that need the extra functionality.
  6. I depends on what you want to do with it. I have found Carista does everything I need at the moment.
  7. Just Google 'VW freewheel pulley' or 'VW alternator clutch pulley' loads of stuff about them out there. I didn't diagnose it myself but my local specialist said it's quite common. I had my car in for all the belts to be done anyway and they didn't charge any extra labour to change the pulley, just the cost of the part. Mine sounded more like the 'classic' slipping belt squeak mainly because the belt was slightly worn and the pulley did not free wheel so the belt was slipping on the pulley. It wouldn't have made the noise with a new belt but would have worn the new belt faster and then start squeaking again. Edit to say that I found this article: https://www.gatestechzone.com/en/problem%20diagnosis/accessory%20drive%20system/oap%20function%20tests
  8. It is possible to get just the screen if you fancied trying it. They are on ebay and also here - http://www.cars-equipment.com/www/en/shop/skoda/oem-a2c53141764-ai-instrument-clusters-maxidot/ Thats will fit the maxidot cluster.
  9. I have now given V-Power Nitro+ Diesel a go and the main difference I have noticed is less smoke out the back. There was an increase in MPG to but I am still trying to establish if it's the fuel or other factors. On my 3rd tank of the stuff at the moment and will maybe use it for a couple more before I work out the MPG on that fuel. New best MPG on a tank was with V-Power with a return of 71.3mpg calculated from miles done and fuel put in. Back down to ~68mpg now with the same fuel but temperatures are dropping. Won't be long before we are on winter diesel again and a further drop in mpg.
  10. They have them on Amazon including the cap if it is the alternator pulley.
  11. I have just had my cam belt, water pump and aux belt changed. I mentioned about a squeak when pulling away and it turned out to be the alternator pulley which they said was quite common. Apparently it has a clutch of sorts (free wheels one way and drives the other way) mine had seized solid. New pulley was £64 which I thought a bit pricey but the squeak has gone. edit to say, I could make it squeak if I put it in 5th while doing about 30mph or slightly less. That was the easiest way I could get it to make the noise so the mechanic could hear it as it didn't always do it when pulling away.
  12. I stuck in some very tasteless projectors on my Octavia which ended up being free which I think is a good price. The plug was wrong and when I asked to send them back and order a different set they said don't bother, we will refund you. I then cut the plug off and put on connectors that would fit into the cars socket. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2016-2-PCS-super-bright-white-Cree-7440-12-SMD-T20-60-w-high-power/32613195005.html?spm=2114.01010208.3.28.9zgzPA&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_4_10065_10068_10069_9905_10017_10080_10082_10081_10060_10061_10062_10056_10055_10037_10054_10059_10032_10078_10079_10077_10073_10071_10070_421_420_10052_10053_10050_10051,searchweb201603_1&btsid=bed813ab-02db-40a5-8228-ab22997f6b01 I should have got the one above but got the ones with a single plug. My mistake but it worked out OK in the end.
  13. Here's a starting point. Items 11 & 13. http://www.realoem.me/Skoda/CZ/OCT/2007/419/R/6/601/601050
  14. Nearly every car can have three child seats across the back, many cars 4! https://multimac.co.uk/home Not a cheap option but cheaper than a car. Edit for bad link.
  15. It will make a minor difference to the speedo to as you will be changing the circumference of the wheel/tyre combination by about 2.5cm. That will give an error at 80mph of 1.03mph. I wouldn't worry about it but at least you will be aware.
  16. I think the back door has been closed now as I have just checked where it used to be in the app and its gone (now on V3.1 and I'm sure the option was still there on V3.0). It was £14.99 for the pro package but now its a subscription (either a week at £7.99 or a year for £29.99). However, it still states on the app store under in-app purchases that the pro package is £14.99.....
  17. I put my reg into euro car parts and for the rears I get one aluminium one and one cast one, they have different piston diameters with the aluminium one being the smallest at 38mm.
  18. I've used DPH Services in Andover a couple of times. It's going to them again soon for a new timing belt, water pump etc.
  19. I saw that but 13Euro + shipping for a copy or £17.99 for a genuine one which would be with him next day to prevent further cuts on his hand. There is also the genuine non VRS one for £8.90. Just putting it out there, thats all. I'm sure the OP can make his choice.
  20. I got one (non VRS) all the way from china, 99p delivered but they are available at your local dealer.
  21. A pair of Rolls Royce RTM332's at idle. When they stop I may be able to hear the radio again.
  22. I thought I was doing well but now I'm wondering why my 1.9 pd Octavia is drinking the fuel at such an alarming rate! My best tank so far was a return of 68.5mpg (828miles to a 55ltr tank) calculated by fuel put in to miles driven. The trip computer said 83mpg which I knew would be wrong. My current average is in my signature and based on 7797 miles but about to fuel up again and update the mileage.
  23. See if Guy Martin wants to sell his..... bit thirsty though and I'm sure it has gearbox problems.
