  1. Congratulations studbuckle! Another 6 weeks before mine is built
  2. As mentioned in this thread: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/t21518-tdi-pd-engine-supply-issues.html The delivery time has been extended again! I am now hoping to take delivery in April!
  3. Well it's bad news for me; my dealer just confirmed my order has been delayed and will not now be built until week 12, which is mid March! :( Apparently there is a 'shortage' of 1.9 TDI PD engines throughout Volkswagen Group. Can anyone confirm this? Ross?
  4. As I mentioned above, mine's a 1.9 which is a little puzzling! I'll post back once I've spoken to my dealer today.
  5. Thanks lozparry; mine's a 1.9 though and yet he still mentioned the possibility of a delay?
  6. Just had a phone call from my dealer saying that a memo has been received from Skoda. Apparently there is some kind of supply problem at the moment which will delay all orders for TDI PD engined vehicles. Of course this may mean a further delay to my order... all the more irritating as the first one was damaged in transit. Anyone know anything further about this? edit: apologies mods... perhaps this would be better in the "General" forum? Please move if appropriate.
  7. Thanks for the advice fredw and skodaw; I'll think about it
  8. What I was thinking, so I haven't mentioned it at all (neither has the dealer offered). I am out of pocket though as I don't have a car right now and so I've had to make alternative arrangements
  9. I was gutted William! Here's the situation now: my dealer couldn't find any 1.9 TDI Elegance models in one of my preferred colours. As a result a factory order has been placed and I should (hopefully) get the car by the end of March :( Although I am looking forward to it; I added a couple of options and the ivory interior I so wanted
  10. Thanks for the replies... I'll be waiting for the dealer to call back today with some more options for me.
  11. I was excidetedly anticipating getting my new car on Friday. On Thursday evening, I received a phonecall from my dealer: "We have some good news and some bad news; the good news is your car is here, the bad news is that it's been damaged in transit." I was then asked whether I would like it repaired or reject it and order a new one. I waited until I had inspected the car on Friday... it was a pretty pathetic site. Two dents on the roof, a dent on the rear right quarter and a scratch in the boot lid and bumper. The dealer showed me the estimate they had obtained to repair the damage...
  12. Thanks Ross, I'm sure there will be something I can't get my brain around when the car arrives
  13. Thanks for the welcome folks... you seem like a great bunch I've spent the past fortnight reading pages and pages of threads; a 'Superb' [sic] introduction to Skoda!
  14. Firstly, I'd like to say what a fantastic forum... I've spent the past fortnight, reading page after page of threads. Second, I recently ordered a new Octavia (my very first Skoda ). It'll be a 1.9 TDI PD Elegance. No options on it (it has so much as standard!) but I chose a metallic colour; Island Green (first choice was Stone Grey but the dealer couldn't get hold of one within my timeframe). I signed the dotted line on New Year's Eve and I'll be taking delivery next Friday (21st). I can't wait to be in the driver's seat!
