  1. If it was from an 05 model i woudn't mind a copy,
  2. Does anybody know which two coloured wires in the black multi plug which connects to the back of the stereo is the switched ignition live and the neutral, I just want a supply to something on the dashboard and I should get a multi tester I know.
  3. Thanks for the replies, I would be interested for sure, do you think Blaupunkt aerials are a better bet than JVC, The first picture is what i am using now but half the stations are missing, and the other is the JVC roof jobbie.
  4. If a remap would cure it I would be tempted to spend £150 at chipboost near Scarborough as somebody has mentioned in a previous thread, they sound to good to be true and only 50 miles away.
  5. Thanks for that, I was looking at the Jvc Hal 2 at
  6. Has anybody had his or her roof aerial replaced with a Dab version? I ask because I am fed up with the stick on version, which has an intermittent signal, My Skoda dealer quoted £140 to do the job on top of the price of the aerial, does this seem fair, I would imagine it is a labour intensive job, also is it possible to replace just the external whip with a Dab one and use a splitter? Thanks.
  7. The vRS drives out of bends very well for a small car with a lot of torque, a couple of magazine tests have even mentioned how well the torque steer was controlled in the little Fabia, but you will always get some in a front wheel drive car, somebody mentioned the Astra GTE Mk2 which was hilarious the way the front would always try to go straight on in under power wet or dry. I have to agree with Gwilo we need a little bit of fun
  8. Fair enough, The stuttering problem is irritating at best and is not dangerous but it is a shame when the previous incarnations of the vRS where nice and smooth, I am sure it would be a simple tweak to cure it as soon as we can get the dealers to make a bit more effort.
  9. To be honest when I bought the 06 model and it had an irritating stuttering on low throttle openings I thought anybody who buys an 06 without trying an older model would think it was just a characteristic of the motor, but to my surprise a lot of people have noticed it, so it is clearly a problem of the set up of the engine. Skoda have been forced to reduce the emissions for this year and they have clearly messed up somewhere, no doubt the 07 model will be fine again as soon as the dealers increase the feed back to Skoda, we have just been unlucky to get the transition year! Mine is not so bad and I can live with it but some owners are getting it quite bad so it isn
  10. I have owned the 05 and the 06 back to back so that puts your theory to bed but thanks for participating.
  11. Mine is still doing it, the dealer was no help at all, though I think he knew more about the problem than he was admitting, The 06 vRS seems to have a slower tick over and the engine does not rev as smooth as the 05 which could all be part of this Euro 4 Business.
  12. All DAB radios have FM anyway to fall back on to if you loose the DAB signal so all you are doing is future proofing really, there is loads of extra channels and at last for me good quality Virgin reception as it is only on MW where I live.
  13. I talked to the dealer today and he said there had been no bulletins from Skoda about a stuttering or misfiring problem which was no surprise, but he did say give it some stick and that will cure it! So no help there. Mine only does it after it is warmed up and even then intermittently, but it is annoying. He also wanted £120 + vat labour to fit a new Dab aerial which i would supply to the roof of my vRS (Mary mother of Jesus) that’s expensive.
  14. Jesus! give him a break! he just started this thread hoping for some helpful advice!! I think the stuttering is all but gone on my car but if I find out anything I will let you know Suncat.
  15. I have owned 05 and o6 cars back to back (another story) and the 05 car never did this in the year I owned it, but the 06 has done it several times in 450 miles so it is an 06 problem, could be Euro whatsit or something completely different but it only did it once this week, so it would be impossible to recreate if I took the dealers mechanic out in the car! But I think it is getting better. The engine is noisier and sounds different to the old car which could be the lack of miles.
  16. If you do a lot of miles the vRS is Ideal as it is a great motorway car with plenty of overtaking poke and a nice smooth ride (for a sporty hatch), the brakes are a bit hit and miss so I would wait to see what yours are like but somebody on here did a simple pad change which made all the difference.
  17. It could be worse i suppose, my 05 model had a mouse's nest under the bonnet made from the sound proofing material it had chewed up! I wonder how long it had been parked in a field before i bought it. Wouldn't happen to a yellow one.
  18. F***Ks sake all i wanted to know was what it was! a simple 'dont know' would have been enough, i will ask the dealer.
  19. Its not a case of 'Does it matter' I wanted to know if this is causing the stuttering that a few of us are experiencing.
