RE: 2006 vrS OWNERS STUTTER - SKODA UK FIX
The The replied to Suncat's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
My hesitation has gone completely since I had a different gasket fitted a month ago and I was glad to see the back of it, The engine does seem to have a flat spot low down and I have to wait longer for the turbo to start spinning than on my 05 model vRS which makes it less fun to drive around town. -

I am no expert but I would expect the smaller the hole the better but I would expect a warning light or two to come on if the hole was blocked completely. I would like to know how large the hole was on 04 and 05 models; certainly it was smaller than 9mm so in theory you could just buy a new gasket for a 04 vRS! It -
Just curious: Fog light and Full beam

Fantastic...You are now on my Xmas card list. -
Its time for a change, 65 is enough for any cam belt. I had one snap on a Citroen Visa Gti at less than 40 which cost me a fortune so i am a bit paranoid now. Ring around for quotes if you don't fancy having a go yourself.

Haynes Workshop Manual now available for the Fabia
The The replied to DGW's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Just got mine today, It was 12.34 with free postage but clearly they decided this was too little and put the price up! pure luck it seems, I really wanted to see how hard the Egr valve was to get to but it looks like bad news. -

I Paid £12.34 at Waterstones, It has gone up to £15 in the last week for some reason! In reality it cost me £27.33, as I could not resist John Reynolds Autobiography at the same time. -
I have a standard vRS with the warning light, Thanks for the replies anyway chaps
-
All vRS models have it but I was suprised Skoda had been a bit tight with the smaller engine cars as it would come in handy at this time of year. My 1974 1.2 Vauxhall Viva had one

Can anybody who has a 1.2 12v Fabia Ambient let me know if you have a low windscreen washer bottle warning light on the dash, My mothers car doesn

When I first bought my 06 model and noticed it hesitated in traffic i looked on here and found it was a common problem, so i phoned my dealer service dept and the guy on the phone said "the best thing I can sugest is turn off your internet" So that was very helpful.
-
Thanks I have booked it in to the dealer for her as it is beyond me, the light can be on permanently or off but opening the door has no effect, so it might be the switch on the roof or the switch on the door. My friendly dealer can sort it out.

I have just filled mine up this evening as i have been getting the bleep on start up for 2 days, it has done 440 since last fill up so 600 is stunning.
-
The interior light on my mothers 1.2 12v Fabia stays on after the doors are locked even though the switch is in the correct position and flattening her battery, she has to leave it in the off position so it is dark getting in. Anybody have any ideas before I take it back to the dealers which is a pain for such a small job

RE: 2006 vrS OWNERS STUTTER - SKODA UK FIX
The The replied to Suncat's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I would like to do the same, even though my stutter has gone the 06 still hasn’t got the same throttle response as my 05 had and seems to take longer for the turbo to spin when I put my foot down, I asked the service guy but he said he could not help if it affected E4 output but what I did was my own business. Warranty issues aside I have ordered a Haynes manual so hopefully this will help. -

Nice to see it in black and white, thanks for that. -

I would like to fit a 1mm gasket, I am sure the less exhaust gas going back into the engine the better it would run, or am I missing something. -
100w bulbs only good for 5 hours...
The The replied to devonutopia's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I had 130/90 h4 bulbs in an Astra Gte a few years ago but the wiring was getting hot even after just a few miles so I took them off and stuck with 100/80 which were fine. -

The The replied to Suncat's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
This is the second fix as the first one was not meeting the emissions standard and dealers were instructed to remove it, This may well happen again with the second fix as VRStu says but at least it works at my end, Skoda UK rang today and the lady was delighted it had worked. -

There is no charge for the fix, somebody has crossed wires. Anybody getting the fix now is acting as guinea pigs for Skoda to test the latest attempt out for them, but it has worked on my car and has not hesitated since. -
It's a fair cop, I feel a tight **** every time I drive my little Fabia! The wife is getting fed up with it.

OOOOOOOOOO Get Her! This thread is simply down to, would you pay 10-12k more to own 120d? For me if the difference was

Plus nobody will let you out of a side road if you drive a Bmw as they don't expect to get any thanks from the driver.

Thanks for the info, I may consult my dealer but I think it would be a fair bit more than than the

You have just answered your own question, the Bmw is a nice car and rear wheel drive but at least 10k more.
