  1. I am told by our leasing company that lead times are around 16-20 weeks. 6 month delay on DSG and 7 months on 4x4
  2. Perhaps the majority of DSG cars are ok, but my 09 VRS had this problem. Temp sensor replaced - now ok, but was a bit worrying when driving along not knowing if it was about to play up.
  3. I live in Milton Keynes and now have to take my car to Progress in Bedford. Only 17 miles but 1 hour driving due to the roadworks on A421:mad: Service has been very good so far (warranty replacement of DSG gearbox temp sensor). Kim in the service deptartment is nice;) My local Skoda dealer (Pillings) lost the franchise. I have had a moan to Skoda about it, they say they are looking to have a dealer in MK soon ( bearing in mind they are based in MK )
  4. My June 2009 VRS had this faulty sensor - replaced under warranty (after a 2 week wait)
  5. I get about 45mpg with myDSG VRS CR 170. Mix of city (London:() and motorway. I have seen average +55mpg on the maxi-dot a few times (yes, I am ashamed:O)
  6. What is the usual service interval for my car. Has the variable service option, but is now displaying the service due countdown. Just past 8k miles.
  7. My opinion, for what its worth DSG can be confused in slow traffic, 10-20mph, it never knows what gear to be in. Changes up very early (1500rpm), so in 5th gear at 31mph. I live in Milton Keynes, so lots of roundabouts. I have noticed that it will be in 3rd/4th on entry to roundabout then changes up to 5th/6th as I exit. Apply the accelerator a bit more, kicks down to 3rd. Generally like the gearbox, but not sure if it "learns" your driving style. Had mine 3 months and 8k mikes and it has never changed the way it operates:confused:
  8. They used to have scoobys, obviously a change for the better:thumbup:
  9. Gearbox temp sensor replaced a week ago, no problems so far:thumbup:
  10. My CR Tdi growls a bit when giving it the beans, very un-diesel like:D Doesn't even sound like a diesel when idling:thumbup:
  11. Fantastic car, fantastic engine, fantastic DSG gearbox......but if the dsg goes wrong is very expensive to fix. I got one as a company car at the beginning of June. I drive in London alot and was getting a bad back with pressing the clutch all day. My dsg started to give grief after a month, hopefully just the geabox tempertaure sensor which will be changed next week.
  12. Tyres can make a huge difference. My first octavia (51reg 150bhp 1.8T) was originally on Pirelli P6000 when I got it, totally undriveable especially in the wet. Next set of tyres were Bridgetone Sport I think, lots of grip and could "make progress" in the wet. I have noticed on my DSG Tdi Vrs I get alot less wheel spin in S than D:confused:
  13. Hi everyone Car was at Progress Skoda in Bedford this morning. He initially thought it was the Mechatronic gearbox ecu causing the fault (6-8 week delivery:eek:), but after carrying out diagnostic tests they are sure that it is the temperature sensor in the gearbox. They have ordered one, which should be fitted next week. I will keep you posted.
  14. Mannyo When it happened the first time I was in heavy traffic. Flashing gear indicator does indicate that clutch is overheating, but I had only travelled 1-2 miles from a cold start and I was holding car on footbrake whilst stationary. Was stopping at lights, speed up to 20mph (3rd gear) then stop again. I do notice that the gearbox changes up very early when driving gently - 5th gear at 31mph? Doesn't explain why it happened when belting along a motorway. I have read on an Audi forum that it was recommended to use sport mode in traffic as it changes gear less.
  15. Hi Got a bit of a problem. Car is a month old Octavia vRS tdi with dsg gearbox. Whilst driving in heavy stop/start traffic in London the other day, gear indicator on maxi-dot started to flash between D & N, when I stopped at the next set of lights gear display went to N. Had only been driving for 20-30 mins. Carried on in Tiptronic mode ok, rest of journey home on motorway ok. Local dealer looked at it, could not find any errors in log, so reset gearbox. Few days later, driving along a dual-carriageway at 60-70 approaching a slip-road, gear display started to flash between D6 & D. This weekend, driving along a motorway @ 70, gear display flashing D6/D, gearbox obviously in neutral as engine would rev freely. On same day in slow traffic, driving in 30-40mph traffic whilst in tiptronic (4th selected) lost drive completely for 10secs or so. Anyone had the same problem?? I have booked it in to a local dealer later this week, but when I spoke to them they have not got a clue!
  16. Hi I want to fit my Nokia CK-9W car kit to my VRS. Bolero head unit but cannot figure out how to remove it:confused: Anyone help
  17. Hi mdk1 Wanted a vRS for ages:D. Managed to get one as a company car:thumbup: Fantastic car, 3k miles already. DSG played up a bit in london traffic today though - overheating:confused:
  18. Hi everybody. Got a new Octavia vRS at the beginning of June. 2.0TDi CR Estate in Race blue with DSG gearbox. Had a couple of Octavias so far. First was a 2001 Mk1 Elegance estate 1.8 turbo. Next one was a 2006 Mk2 1.9Tdi Ambiente Est. Just thought I would say hello
