Octavia Mk2 Scout Upgrade to Bolero
neomancer replied to nidgep's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
you will probably need to swap the PDC controller for an OPS unit... but get a code read of the car first to find out what modules you have to see if you just need a coding change to do it. bolereo will also need a climatronic upgrade if you want to keep that on display. oh and new trim get a scan for your CAN gateway too to make sure you won't get battery drain! http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Navigation_System_(RNS510)_Retrofitting -
Pretty much. or if you take the wheel off and spin the hub you will be able to grab the skoda part code off.. its on the hub section. then googlefoo it to get the right size.
-
doh.. interested in the climate control surround if the other guy doesn't take it
-
sweet! once its sorted and confirmed i will take it.. need to buy a canbus upgrade too, i like my battery.
-
if you can get it clarified, i don't want to make a purchase to find out its going to cost me £50 extra to get the code from the dealer! :(
-
Going to hazard a guess, its going to be 1/2 hour labor or more for skoda to pull the code for this?

Maxi Dot Instrument Cluster
neomancer replied to VrsMule's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Petrol maxidot depends on what software you use.. my 07 cluster cannot be coded on my 05 by the dealer apparently.. so its being shipped off to Eddie with my current cluster to get vag-commandered! :( an 04-6 cluster can just be done using vag tacho + vcds -
Towbar prep probably.
-
Rgr, thanks Mike... i was about to rage post it on ebay. looks like i will have to post both my clusters to Eddie and hope to god the courier doesn't screw up!
-
Yeah i asked them to do a cluster swap process, VAS was unable to complete the coding as the immobiliser type in the 07 cluster was a different type.. for a newer immobiliser type. i have a printout showing the years.
-
dammit. will see what eddie can do for me... but i'm pretty far away if he needs to plug in to the car :(
-
interesting, will get in contact to see if i can post it to them for them to pull the skc and if all i then need to do is code it in VCDS. drama lama. thanks for that information mike. online = connection to skoda via VAS to pull the immo code. will speak to ben to see what he can do to help!
-
bumpting this, went to dealer today. maxidot immo cannot be coded on my 2005 Octavia because the immo on the 07 cluster is as the dealer advised an online immobiliser and requires keys/everything else coded on it from a special system within skoda. so.. i am guessing i just need to sell on the cluster to someone with a newer car and cough up from skodateile.cz for one (but won't that also be a online immo? anyone else shed any light on this? guessing CAN-Commander can't fix this issue either?

Anyone used bike carrier on back of octavia vrs?
neomancer replied to MCD's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Towbar = completely separate from the back door of the car and dead easy to get bikes on. the Thule also will allow boot access without removing the bike -
red/purple can be mixed, if you have the green stuff don't mix that!

neomancer replied to MCD's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
fixed towbar on my saloon (can't put anything else apart from roof bars on a saloon) plus a thule 3bike bar. really wish i had gone for canbus electrics though, parking sensors scream when i reverse is so annoying! -
Cruise control retrofit ?
neomancer replied to Tim_davies-moss's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Steering_Wheel_Control_Module_Versions its a midline and midline's normally do.. but rosstech don't seem to have it confirmed so no promises. -
2004 VRS Air Con clicking noise
neomancer replied to huskie69's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I had a similar issue.. turned out to be a parking ticket in the fan. drop the glovebox out and you can easily access the blower and it twists to unlock off its mount. -
high pressure fuel line return to the fuel tank?
-
How have you identified that its the PDC unit that is discharging your battery? how old is the battery in the car?
-
1 - yes but facia will need replacing as it won't be the same size as the stream 2 - 06 will mean you need a canbus upgrade as part of it (probably behind the glovebox on yours) you will need someone to code the navigation with VCDS too. 5 - Yes to reverse camera, but you will need to do cabling, and probably upgrade the Parking distance controller to an OPS unit if you want that showing on the new headunit. not 100% sure on the rest of it.
