Skoda Connect Lite
I've not activated the exhaust gas temperature yet. Need lots more points. Just doing short trips and only one longer one so far. My feelings about air temperature, was wondering where the sensor was.

Skoda Connect Lite
I've activated a few features. Today the air intake temperature is 24°C. Whereas the ambient temperature is 5°C. I imagined the intake air would be cooler, but heated enough to prevent icing. Any ideas?

Ooh, I have an umbrella holder...
I've just got a tray under my driver's seat where I keep a fluorescent /reflective jacket. My brollies are in the boot and a rear door pocket. Definitely no umbrella holder.

VW Dataplug Does not recognise my VIN number
Which app have you downloaded? Skoda Connect Lite works for me with a VW plug.

Hill Hold Assist on a MANUAL VRS with conventional handbrake - can it be disabled?
I've got this on my manual 1.4tsi. I use the handbrake in the traditional way and hill hold is not called upon. I have tested its function and the release point/timing doesn't suit me. I ignore it.

Wiper Blades
Just fitted 3 Bosch blades to my Octavia3. £31 in total from wiper blades.co.uk. Ditto to SWMBO Kia Picanto. Price was the same.

Skoda Connect Lite
There is another thread entitled Skoda connect in 2014 model. Read that to get you going. That alerted me to the device and its use. I use an £11 VW dongle with Skoda Connect Lite. The device came with instructions.

Skoda Connect Lite
I'd to go round in circles about a dozen times. Eventually the firmware updates after I developed a headache and desisted.. A few more hoops to jump through such as removing MIB, pairing the dongle and then re installing MIB. Am gradually inching towards 500 points.

Skoda Connect Lite
Was puzzled by the fuel costs. I noted I'd simply entered 107.9 as per pump. App interprets that as £107.9 per litre.

Skoda Connect Lite
Do you mean on the car screen or the smart phone? If the smartphone, then I have to earn points to view oil temperature, coolant temperature, exhaust gas temperature, intake air temperature and throttle valve position.

Skoda Connect Lite
As a starter, there seems to be a lot of menus and choices for challenges. Driving style could also be viewed on my media screen but that's tedious to view . I was hoping too see mpg , but no. What are the best data to add to the app and the quickest way to get points show them. I'm doing short journeys at the moment. The exhaust temperature sounds intriguing.

Hi, is there a thread somewhere where I can whinge about this novelty app?

Wheel Hopping- Not Wheel Spin?
Interesting, thanks. I will probably live with it. Don't have any such software gizmos.

Wheel Hopping- Not Wheel Spin?
I can experience wheel spin when merging with moving traffic, doing a right angle turn across a central reservation. Also on damp and bumpy roads when accelerating hard. From reading threads about dog bone inserts, I realise it may be wheel hop and not just a lack of traction from my Vredestein Quattrac 5 tyres. 205/55/16 No intention of modifying the car, but I never had this, on the same route ,with my Octavia 2 diesel with sport suspension.

VW Data Plug Compatibility
I eventually got my £11 genuine VW (via Amazon) dongle paired using Connect Lite. Went round the houses with repeated attempts at logging in. Gave up. Today it has connected and updated firmware. Not sure what usefulness it has as yet. Must try pairing with the MIB system again- but only for music. It scared the willies out of me when a phone call came over the stereo..

Foggy windows
Not had this trouble consistently in my MK2 or MK3 Octavia. Both had/climate control, fortunately. As does SWMBO Picanto. November tends to be the worst month for condensation in the UK. My greenhouse is near 100% humidity today and dripping wet. When I used to drag in snow to my MK2, I ran the heater at maximum temperature for a while before stopping.

Wiper Blades
I've bought Bosch blades from Halfords and Amazon over many years for several vehicles. No problems with any of them . Long life also.

Changing from 205/60R16 to 205/65R15
My Octavia has 205/55/16V fitted as standard. Tyres are cheap enough.

coding the multimedia to turn off at car lock, not door open
My music goes off when the ignition is switched off. Never mind when I lock the door.

coding the multimedia to turn off at car lock, not door open
I honestly don't remember what my car does. But I've suffered from loud music when car doors were opened.

All Weather tyres and Summer tyres
Surprisingly no. Very reassuring in wet conditions and reviewed well over the years.

All Weather tyres and Summer tyres
I'm heading into the third winter with my Vredestein Quattrac 5 (205/55/16). Not driven on any snow yet, just a bit of ice one day. Even when driving up to Buxton. They are fine all year round and provide excellent stability when hitting flood water. The only down side is a tendency to get wheel spin on damp and bumpy roads. I usually drive in eco mode as well. I just want to try them in snow before they wear out.

Trunk lock options?
SWMBO did just that with my Octavia when loading groceries. Luckily a taxi ride home and back with spare keys went well. I rarely open just the tailgate because of the self locking risk.
