I got that warning when cruising along on the M25 in a 2l diesel 150PS Octavia. Three solid lanes of traffic at ~75 mph. Pulled into a petrol station. Dark by then. Level was down to half way between max/min. Waited for 10 minutes and it was still down bought 1l of oil at enormous expense. Topped up. Ok. I now wonder if the steady high speed running pumped a lot of oil to the top half? Got through about 1l between annual services.Warning never recurred, sold it at 145,000 miles.

I use Waze on my Android phone. The constant traffic update and route adjustments is much easier for me than a built in system.Magnetic Yosh mounts fitting to a centre vent.

I eventually had my battery in my 1.4Tsi replaced before the 3 year warranty expired. Diagnostic checks were done several times,to no avail , but the stop start didn't work even after a 300mile run. The car is now 10 years old and SS still works after a decent run 30 miles plus.

I've got the same model year and Bolero set up. I use the free Waze navigation app. on my Android phone and attach it to the middle vents via Yosh magnetic mounts. The app has been great and advice is always up-to-date date.

Remember the maximum permissible tow bar weight as well.

I have one on my 2016 1.4 TSI Combi. I'd to scan the V5 which satisfied the criteria. Only a low quality scan was accepted.

A full kit is available from Skoda. I have a steel full sized tyre and spare. Marked 50mph though...

I also keep my locking wheel nut key in there. Also a reflective jacket and gloves etc...

The option to auto lock is on one of the many menus. The handbook is probably a good start. Not so handy if you are picking up an impatient passenger. But good for security in an urban area.

You will get warnings of the clutch failing. You can eke the life out by driving carefully.If you are towing a caravan then your priorities might be different . I ran a Passat Diesel and an Octavia diesel to similar mileages with no clutch problems.

A new lock motor is inexpensive if you go for a pattern part. My local trusted garage sorted mine out cheaply a couple of years ago.

My brighter bulbs are lasting well. Not the huge improvement that I was expecting though. My wife's standard Kia Picanto (2019) has better spread of lights and penetration. My eyes are now good enough not to need my varifocal glasses to drive, in theory, but my closer vision needs thespecs for correction.

Recurred only once and easily sorted with the WD 40 PTFE spray.

I recently did a 5,5hr trip to Dundee. Perfectly comfortable. And on the return. I've only done 48000 miles. Foam does collapse eventually. Apart from early Polos all my VW group cars have been comfortable. Only ever got to 140,000 miles in a Passat diesel. Repair costs to older cars get tedious and expensive. My old Renault 18 TS had extremely comfortable seats even with limited adjustment.

I looked at mine yesterday for the first time. Id to hold the tailgate half open on my Combi. I used to test and certify such switch actuators. It looks a superb (no pun intended) design. The moulded rubber diaphragm would be given a very high IP (ingress protection) from me. And it faces downwards. I often take my car through a soft brush automatic car wash with no trouble. That doesn't help you. Don't use a pressure washer close up as others have said. You will cause damage to the car. Seal the number plate lights and the aperture which the switch goes into, if you must, with clear silicone sealant. BTW is your rear window washer working OK? Hope it goes well.

To be honest, I don't know what the tail gate button is. My MK3 Octavia Combi has a release hidden above the number plate. I wouldn't describe it a a button. Must get a mirror on the job.

Heard a different squeak from the same area. Another spray with WD-40 Dry lubricant sorted it.

Hi Thanks everyone. I've just had OSRAM bulbs fitted, purchased from Powerbulbs. Night breaker Laser +150% H7 Cool Blue Intense Next Gen H15 Both claim to be 120% brighter. The wider spread of the H7 is noticeable as is the increased whiteness of both beams. And yes, I've a manual thumb wheel adjustment -hidden by the steering wheel.

Just ordered OSRAM from Power Bulbs. Those H15 are very expensive though.Thanks. My current bulbs simply do not illuminate the grass verge. My eyes have been checked by the finest eye hospital in England.

Well, yes, but needs must. I don't want to hit a walker on a dark verge.

After a number of eye operations and getting older, I'm finding it more difficult to drive in dark conditions. My eyes meet and exceed the DVLA requirements. I'm driving with the foglights on to pick up ill -defined road edges, pedestrians and pot holes on dark roads. I know that my 2016 Octavia Mk3, standard halogen bulbs, has an odd bulb covering the dip and DRL. Have you any recommendations for decent, legal and brighter bulbs? Dip and main.

Wheel /tyre imbalance is what springs to mind.

My brother in laws 2016 Golf R is similar in some ways, but does not have permanently live sockets. A strange VW/Skoda difference. I did help him out with remote window opening options, which were the same as my 2016 Octavia..

I flattened my battery using a cooler box. Camping in France. I then fitted a hard wired automatic cut out which senses when the voltage drops too low. Towsure etc in the UK. I prefer the permanently live sockets overall.

I don't know which car this is. The steel brake calipers on my 2016 Octavia are so black with road dirt, no rust can be seen. I'm not bothered about such cosmetics. Try asking your supplying dealer if there is a manufacturing fault.
