  1. Cheers Moley Just checked them out U P S it is, not the cheapest but good reputation in most reviews I've looked at.
  2. I've already got an account with Hermes and I find them very good but they limit their length to 120cm and my tubes would be 180cm so a no go there. It seems to push me towards dealing with City Link direct where I would have to pay a bit extra £13.20 rather than deal with a 3rd party ,at least this way the onus would be on them rather than a 3rd party
  3. As a follow up the parcel I had damaged with Parcels2go was actually delivered by City Link, but because a 3rd party was involved City Link would accept no responsibilty and Parcels2go had the same attitude leaving me banging my head against a brick wall. Eventually I did get £25 compensation from Parcels2go but it took about 7months and no where near covered my loss.. Thanks for your answers appreciate your time
  4. Can't really say as at present its just a feeler before I put them on E-Bay Parcels2go is a bit of a no go for me ,had a really bad experience with them not just damaging but more compleatly destroying a well packed and protected parcel around 12 months ago had to threaten legal action before I got any satisfaction.
  5. Hi Guys Like to pick your brains, I'm a angler looking to send rods by courier I've tried most avenues without success. The length of my parcels would be 1.8mtrs - weight 1.8kg - 8cm diam with UK posting only. Most courier firms don't seem to cater for long tube parcels or private individuals only bulk sales Grateful for any suggestions.
  6. Yes but where's the Yeti kept? Sorry could'nt help myself
  7. Could you give dealership name and details of bad service ?
  8. Surely it should be inside warranty period at less than 3 years old ?
  9. Just had a minor service done and was charged £154.13 ,I did shop around and this seemed quite reasonable against some of the prices I was quoted. Its a pain having to pay this just for the stamp in service book to keep guarantee up to date. Putting your price against mine perhaps you didn't do too bad
  10. Fair point Graham,I have no great knowledge of the Sportback but would the rear vision be the same ? and would there still be limited vision over the front end? Maybe tomorrow I'll answer my own queries and nip up to our local dealer and have a peek just out of curiosity.
  11. I had a 1.2 Rapid Elegance (late 13 model) as a loan car for the last 2 days while my Yeti was being serviced and bonnet blown plus a bit of bling on rear pipes. Must say I honestly hated the Rapid, found it very hard to judge where the bonnet ends ,rear vision not great and for an Elegance I was not impressed with standard level of fittings , Although must admit the engine was very willing and plenty of interior and boot space. With the bit of extra height and driving position the Yeti gives I found the Rapid uncomfortable. But this is only my view, we all have different tastes so good luck mandroo I hope you enjoy your choice.
  12. Mines just over 1 year old ( pre face lift ) whole body is in unmarked pristine con'd with the exception of the bonnet which has quite a few stone chips. Booked in for a respray when I return from hols, tried Skoda UK with no success. Off topic a bit but 7K now on the clock and I've never had a engine loosen up so well, can get mid forties brim to brim without any concious effort.
  13. Hi Colin, try giving Rainworth Skoda a ring they did me a deal last winter 4 x VAG 16" steels with Hankook winters for under £500 delivered. Think the chap I dealt with was Jonathan who I found very helpful with advise on what I needed, had several items off them since and found them very competitive They are based at Mansfield phone 01623 623400 .
  14. My screen being replaced tomorrow after picking up a crack on Monday which has lengthened from the original 2" to 3" long to around 1 ft. Very pleased and surprised to find some people have had the black plastic pillars included , fingers crossed Autoglass still have the same policy.
  15. Used to live not too far from Coopers Hill where the cheese rolling takes place and that is a event you don't need bottle for, you just need to be absolutely crazy . Even a mad sport/event like this is now attracting quite a few entrants from all parts of the world but the winners tend to live locally.
  16. Just a polite question, How can so many people who in their own words don't watch football and have no interest in it pass credible opinions on how such a player or country performed ? Personally when younger I found rugby a more enjoyable game to participate in ,but football a better spectator sport. Coming home from the hospital last night the normally congested roads were deserted and it was a joy to be driving, so perhaps this alone is a call for more football on the box.(he says tongue in cheek) I was under orders from the wife to tape the match so she will be able to view when she recovers, so a few of the ladies also enjoy football.
  17. Had one very similar to yours on our 1st Yeti, it was filled and along with a new bumper and light cluster it cost just over £800 . This was done by a Skoda a approved body shop.
  18. My second Yeti pre f/L came off the transporter with pre drilled and sleeved holes so I assume these were factory fitted.
  19. Another irritation is the number of dealers who do not use the factory fitted threaded holes (if you have them on the F/L) but just drill through then use a self tapper, surely in this day and age its not expecting too much for dealers to have a template for the job. This was covered extensively in old posts on the pre F/L. (Classic )
  20. Hardly a Yeti but passed by a new shape R/Rover with plates YET1E on the M50 this morning going north. Perhaps he / she has visions of grandeur . :D
  21. Hi Jamie Later models had a clear plastic covering for want of a better description over the rear wheel arch to give some protection against gravel rash which the Yeti seems very prone too. This did cause pin head size bubbles to appear on a few early models but I believe after mid 2011 Skoda fitted the clear protection covering as standard. Might be a good idea to have a good examination around wheel arches and bottom of doors just to put your mind at rest. This subject has been covered in past posts so have a dig around in history.
  22. No way we are all bald and 80 plus also we stutter as you can see by my mispost
  23. First let me say I'm still well pleased with my 3rd Yeti and have no desire at present to change it. The Star report in my eyes was absolute rubbish, especially some of the performance issues he raised.(Yes I have owned a 1.2 ) But I do have to agree with him regarding prices escalating, I bought my Yeti's because they ticked all the boxes I required and were very well priced . Now Skoda seem to be setting their prices to compare with higher mark cars and are not so much of a bargain in my eyes. But I guess if you have a successful product you can ask what you want.
