Quick follow up ,made a polite phone call on Tues to Auto Brite and was informed by a helpful lady that my order had been dispatched the previous Friday by Royal Mail. Phoned again Yesterday (Wed) and a gent told me that obviously the parcel had gone missing and he would immediately send a replacement by DPD. This morning (Thurs) the parcel was delivered with a free gift to make up for any delay, so thumbs up to Auto Brite.

If you are having a new car it might be worth considering NFU ,they won't be cheaper than your present quote but some of the benefits are unbeatable. If you write your car off you are guaranteed a brand new model thus doing away with the need for GAP insurance.(this is available till your car is two years old) No charge for any alterations in the term of your policy. No charge or need to inform of a change to winter wheels/rubber provided standard Unlimited European cover Ample legal and liability cover And many more excellent benefits I considered it was well worth paying a bit extra for. "Hastings" the lowest quote I had came in at £161 but was very basic. NFU came out the best insurer in "Which" magazine

Thanks both for your replies, as I mentioned its still early yet,, but most companies do acknowledge payment. I will give it a few days then inquire politely as you suggest, don't want to upset them as really fancy a few of their exclusive lines.
-
Has anyone ordered from them lately ? and how long did delivery take ? I know there have been a few problems in the past. I realize its still early for delivery but I placed my 1st order with them last week and have had no acknowledgement of payment which I find strange. Order is marked processing. On the up side I did get 15% off (thanks again Chris)

Charlie it might be worth approaching Skoda UK to see if you can get a goodwill payment towards repair costs . Should say you have a good case if you have full service records. I had a turbo blow on a 4 year old Audi A4 a few years ago , Audi gave me £600 as a goodwill gesture towards the total repair of £1200 at the time. There might be a chance your Skoda dealer will put your case if your on good terms. Certainly worth a try anyway.

Get well soon mate ,keep your chin up its not the end of the world I had heart attack when I was mid thirties now well into my sixties and still enjoy a pint or two but fags did go. Look forward to reading your posts when your feeling better -
Agree with Graham the Severn tunnel rail link sounds good but as you probably know living at Ross that going to Gloucester in the mornings is terrible you can be queued back to almost Huntley and this goes on till gone 10:00am ,worse in term time!

SHOULD OAP's BE ALLOWED TO DRIVE FABIA vRS?
7029bob replied to vRSgone's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk II (2007-2014)
OAPs can drive anything just so long as the incontinence pants are in place. -
I think both look good but I still prefer the Classic, the lines seem to flow especially around the headlights and obviously the fog lights also, but I imagine they are not as efficient as the lower placed ones on the F/L. The grill is also a bit of a up and down design with not the smooth lines that the Classic has. But this is only my preference and if I wrote mine off tomorrow would I replace it with a F/L ? YOU BET I WOULD.! Hector I hope you really enjoy your Yeti.

Should I expect a curtesy car at a Skoda dealer?
7029bob replied to dochsm's topic in General Automotive Chat
Always had courtesy car in the 3 Skoda dealers I've used if booked in advance, one did make a small charge for their insurance. Some have charged for petrol used. -
Was going to change back to summer rubber today but 1:30pm pm bitter cold can't see your hand in front of your face here in the Forest of Dean, has made up my mind to hang on a bit. Don't think I will be able to try out my Sonax Extreme BSD which has just arrived, due to the damp mist. Off to Llwyngwril for a few days no doubt it will be 70d in the shade there and we will come back with a glorious tan. LOL

If you have the 1.2 petrol its just a push on 10secs job if the F/L is the same exhaust system as the original Yeti. Does improve looks without looking to bling. As Graham says the diesels do need cutting back.
-
I've had two 1.2 Yeti's and found the engine quite capable and economy acceptable (35-40ish) only changed to diesel as my mileage has increased. But I really think you would find the difference in performance to a Vrs quite hard to take. You would obviously benefit from the extra space . The Yeti holds the road well and is a pleasure to drive but it obviously will have a softer ride than your Vrs ,which in my case is a good thing. As others have said take a test drive to see if it meets your needs. If you could stretch your budget a 140 or 170 diesel would give you a performance nearer to your Vrs Good luck with your choice.

I take it a lot you have said is tongue in cheek, if not you must have a lot more balls courage than me. But seriously if you really want it and its feasible finance wise go for it or you will regret not doing it later. If you did happen to be serious god help you if she twigs. -
Sorry for you real scum about , seeing its happened twice to you is it possible its someone who knows you and where you keep the bikes ?

Nick Are you wing mirrors chrome or is it a trick of the light ?

Our new yeti has arrived... With the wrong wheels and roof colour!
7029bob replied to joiner andy's topic in Skoda Yeti
Andy, do you get the impression they will return your deposit ? -

7029bob replied to joiner andy's topic in Skoda Yeti
Hi Andy Did you pay your deposit by credit card ? if you did why not have a word with the card supplier. I had a similar experience a few years ago and I found the RBS very understanding and helpful. If there is any chance of a return through the card company I should tell the dealer to stick it, politely of course :wonder: -
Any 6' 3" (190.5 cm) or taller Yeti Drivers out there
7029bob replied to ddyer79's topic in Skoda Yeti
My lads are '6 6" and '6 5" and neither have any problems driving our Yeti on occasions The one owns a Lexus, the big ugly hybrid thing and expected to find our Yeti a bit downmarket but I note he is now considering buying one for his business use after driving ours. -
Amazing price! thought I did well getting £3995 off a book £23000 but thingy's deal makes it look insignificant if right.

Car park incident. Two in five days...
7029bob replied to KBPhoto's topic in Insurance & Legal Issues
Hi KB If it does go through the other persons insurance and money is no object I can thoroughly recommend "Fix" at Hereford, they used to be "Cavanagh's" Had similar experience in "Morrisons at Ross and "Fix" did a good job. -
I have to have a colonoscopy every 3 years , not pleasant but bearable don't think I could describe it as DGW has. They will give you a light sedative if you request one, but not a knock out dose as they prefer you to be semi conscious to assist them in moving your position. On the up side when I had it last time I had a cracking nurse holding my hand all the way through the procedure One warning be prepared for strong winds on the journey home, you will definitely need your safety belt on to stop you rising out of your seat. , Obviously you will need to be driven . Good luck its honestly not too bad just a bit embarrassing first time.
